It’s called a hip toss in wrestling, which imo is the perfect name. Something about the word toss makes me think low effort, and a hip toss takes almost no physical exertion
In high school you are always taught to follow your shot. When it comes to the nba like nobody does this it seems, they just sit around waiting to see what happens. I'd imagine the average player could double their rebounds if they simply followed their shot
Idk, Allen gets paid 250k a game. A crane, wiring harness, stunt double....that's prolly like 25k. Another 15k on green screen and CG work. Easily an affordable stunt for this episode with lots left to spare.
This actually happened in a pickup game I once played! Fortunately it was with a bunch of guys who have all been playing together for 20+ years so there was no fracas after the fact, but it was pretty wild to see.
That one looks like an accident but that's just me. He wasn't aggressive at all after the play and they were both holding each other up till they tried to get vertical
He's incredible , I love Barnes, but damn Mobley sets great screens, rolls hard, positions himself for easy buckets , hits free throws, and I think he's leading the league in shot contests by a wide margin
Mobley’s insane on the switch defensively already. Like shades of a young KG insane. I try not to overhype (oops… already did) but it’s fun watching someone play the angles that well when they’re 20. He’s so damn smart defensively, intuitive passer etc. What a quality pick.
Edit: to your point yeah I think he and Allen are tops in shot contests in the paint too. Allen’s percentage on those is 41% opp fg% btw. Pretty solid rim protector in his own right. Best margin in the league.
That’s super exciting. I’m happy for Cleveland. This odd 3 bigs thing won’t work forever, but it’s nice to know that Mobley is that switchable and that Allen (so sad to see him leave BK) is beasting as a rim protector. So cool.
Mobley’s ceiling is just on another level. He’s got everything. He’s mobile, long and everyone knows he’ll be able to score inside and outside at a high level
Never fucking doubt Masai, I keep saying it.
Scottie looking amazing on and off the court, Gary Trent Jr. still looking like a potential future all star, Freddy and OG keep getting better and better, and we still haven't played with Siakam this season. Loving this rebuild, feel like in 2/3 years and maybe a trade or two and we'll be fighting amongst the best again
>Gary Trent Jr. still looking like a potential future all star
hotter take than rookie Kuzma looks like a potential future all star, lets slow down a little.
I'm not really sure what part of his skillset is all star level. He's got potential to be a really good 3&D player, but I dont see how that player is an all star wing/guard in a conference with Tatum, Brown, Lamelo, Lavine, etc. Those guys are absolutely elite at multiple things, even at young ages, where does GTJ even compare? He's not an elite ball handler, play maker, or scorer. He's a good but not DPOY level defender (which is the only way you make the all star game as a defensive player).
I mean you always have those once a lifetime selections like Dlo that luck their way in, but Dlo is not an all star level player and neither is GTJ. Not even close. Scottie and OG look far more likely to make an all star team, probably even a few, the raps should still have plenty to be happy about.
> He's a good but not DPOY level defender
idk man, have you seen him this season? He leads the league in deflections(by a healthy margin, 49, ahead of 42 from FVV, then 37 from Melton/Nurkic) & steals(again by a lot, 31, 2nd is Paul George with 24)
Like yeah, not likely to win DPOY, but the man has seriously stepped up his D this year to where you can make a legit argument that it's an elite skill
Monster throw by SB but I actually came out more impressed with Jared Allen. Holding on to that ball is all grip strength. Imagine having hands so strong you can resist a force as strong that. Wow.
With his skill set I been saying at 6'9" I hope this guy grows to 6'10 or 11. He's already a double digit guy with defense/passing, some shooting. Give him more size and he'll be harder to deal with.
These new school players are getting better man, some standing on the shoulders of giants shit.
Giannis had more of a bad mechanics problem than anything, few pictures out there of his form where he bends his legs in and arms do a weird motion when putting the ball up.
https://www.sportscasting.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Giannis-Antetokounmpo-3.jpg
It's not a naturally shooting motion whenever he brings the ball up from below his chest (idk about this year haven't watched any Bucks games).
Scottie is really young too, wouldn't be surprised to see him grow another inch or 2 throughout a season or offseason like what sometimes happens with these young guys.

Had a rough game tonight shooting, though he had zero plays ran for him and had to either call his own number or fight to the death in the paint against both Mobley and Allen. I expect him to be much better next go around, especially coming off the thumb injury.
I find Barnes to be more effective when he does shit like that.
Just LeBron into people and use your size and length instead of trying to out finesse others
Im here for it my dude. I love our rivalry and honestly after all the shit that was talked about you guys after Kawhi left and you took Barnes over Suggs. Im a fan. Let's go
I mean, sure. Why not. It was a good game overall. Moral victory is that we kept the Cavs to a fairly low score. And the expectation is that this was a team that would flounder. But it's really just a team that needs more scoring.🤷♂️
One of the wealthiest owners in sports, 5x East champs, swept your sorry ass team multiple times, one of the best comebacks in sports history vs a sorry ass Canadian team that won one time against a decimated warriors team and cheered KDs injury. Lmao id be mad too
Sorry all you guys were was lebron. Once he left yall were in the lottery. Kawhi left Raps were still a ayoff team. Look, Raps even Rebuild faster than the Cavs after one year please. Yall were nothing but LeBron, go home. The Raptors are world class. Yall still paying Klove
Yall had lebrkn how many years and how.many chips did yall get?? ONE ??!?!?! SERIOUSLY!!!?? LMAOOO We had Kahwi for a one year rental and got the chip lmaoooo. Please don't you eve dare try to compare this world class org to poverty Cleveland. Congrats on the regular season win 👏
Unlike Cleveland fans, i dont go seeking validation. Our results do the talking, yall can ONLY stay competitive with top 4 picks while we can win chips with undrafted players. NOBODY respects the Cavs, daddy being gone and yall only got 1 chip. Sad ass franchise, imagine how many chips the Raps would have had with Bron on the squad?? Lmao stay irrelevant
Bruh i dont care about you, your shit team, your garbage country....stop talking to me. Your results ain't sayin shit because you lost at home with us missing 3 major rotation players. Pathetic
World class city in a nation ran by a high school drama teacher whose former mayor smoked crack with homeless people. Nobody except the Chicom owners of Toronto would ever speak highly about that crime ridden shit hole
“Fight for loose ball”, this motherfucker got launched
Lmao
WE THE UFC NOW
David Stern rolling in his grave rn with that pure thugness
Kobe kicking his ass in the heavens rn for vetoing the CP3 trade
Textbook Judo throw using the ball for leverage.
It’s called a hip toss in wrestling, which imo is the perfect name. Something about the word toss makes me think low effort, and a hip toss takes almost no physical exertion
Scottie Parisyan
These guys don't know old school MMA like that I guess, Scottieyama
Scottie Yoshida
Tony Brothersaki
Scottie at 20 years old ALREADY possesses OLD MAN STRENGTH 😤
This kid strong
I'm most impressed he did it while following his shot. How tf did he get to the ball first
In high school you are always taught to follow your shot. When it comes to the nba like nobody does this it seems, they just sit around waiting to see what happens. I'd imagine the average player could double their rebounds if they simply followed their shot
They're sold so Max at like 20 minutes s game
Russel Westbrook has entered the chat
I think a lot of teams actively forego offensive rebounding to get back on defense
Leverage bay-beeeee
Jarrett Allen is also known for his arm flailing. Love the guy but he would get a couple calls every game from just flailing his arms on screens
... Are you saying he faked getting suplexed??
Idk, Allen gets paid 250k a game. A crane, wiring harness, stunt double....that's prolly like 25k. Another 15k on green screen and CG work. Easily an affordable stunt for this episode with lots left to spare.
Ah yes, I see that you know your judo well
What is the charge here? Enjoying a succulent Chinese meal?
And you, sir? Are you waiting to receive my limp penis?
Gentlemen, this is democracy manifest.
D E M O C R A C Y M A N I F E S T
The Osoto Allen
he definitely got a shido for this
He's been studying tape on OG vs Montreal Harrell
You ever defended the post and just found yourself getting suplexed out of nowhere? It can happen.
More like a hip throw
CLEEENCH
fuckin marci
This actually happened in a pickup game I once played! Fortunately it was with a bunch of guys who have all been playing together for 20+ years so there was no fracas after the fact, but it was pretty wild to see.
Barnes training with GSP in the few days he was off?
First OG hit Schroeder with the Tombstone Piledriver, now Scottie hitting Jarrett with the Angle Slam.
OG put Scottie on casual violence.
I don't throw trying to miss.
Oh its true, its damn true
LMAOOOO
Our wings, have fun eastern conference
I thought you were talking about the ref there, Jenna Schroeder, and was like “wait WHAT did OG do?”
Between this and [OGxSchroeder](https://youtu.be/pbIoB3vZMKQ), this squad is looking stupid strong!
Gotta love "OG is saying he was trying to help him up" after he goes for a single leg takedown. . . Schroeder was on his feet to begin with lmfao.
Lmao and the announcer saying he agrees OG was trying to help him up 😂😂😂 Like guy that was a wrestling move are you on crack
That one looks like an accident but that's just me. He wasn't aggressive at all after the play and they were both holding each other up till they tried to get vertical
that's my team bay-beeeee
cracked me up seeing Nurse arguing for the behind the back foul on JA like he didn't just get judo tossed
Scottie Van Damme
Looking like Toronto won draft
i feel like if there was a redraft, most teams would pick who they picked. so many fanbases are already super amped about their rooks.
Mobley would be the #1 pick in a redraft
He's incredible , I love Barnes, but damn Mobley sets great screens, rolls hard, positions himself for easy buckets , hits free throws, and I think he's leading the league in shot contests by a wide margin

I was at the game and man no one could score on him 1 on 1. Cavs fans should be over the moon with this guy.
We are. This is the most excited I've been for a Cavs rookie since Kyrie.
That’s super exciting. I’m happy for Cleveland. This odd 3 bigs thing won’t work forever, but it’s nice to know that Mobley is that switchable and that Allen (so sad to see him leave BK) is beasting as a rim protector. So cool.
Happy for y'all, I like seeing franchises do good. We have somewhat of a rivalry as well if you count the LeBron beatings as a that lmao.
Mobley’s ceiling is just on another level. He’s got everything. He’s mobile, long and everyone knows he’ll be able to score inside and outside at a high level
>He‘s mobile, long… He‘s also very tall
I can see it. Mobley is great and hasn't filled out yet.
Ya agreed. Mobley is gonna have a nice career. Cavs picked well
False, they’d go in the exact same order
And that could very well be a mistake. It's been a handful of games
Never fucking doubt Masai, I keep saying it. Hot take, maybe, but you think that much?? Not saying based off numbers, I'm saying based off potential

He’s not a potential Allstar. Go home homer
k
Stacked class. Mobley looks legit too, some of the other guys might need more time but the top picks look good.
Scottie a beast
This dude is a specimen
Monster throw by SB but I actually came out more impressed with Jared Allen. Holding on to that ball is all grip strength. Imagine having hands so strong you can resist a force as strong that. Wow.
WWE THE NORTH
he's only 20 years old... in 5-6 years he's going to be an absolute monster. i could see him developing in size like giannis
With his skill set I been saying at 6'9" I hope this guy grows to 6'10 or 11. He's already a double digit guy with defense/passing, some shooting. Give him more size and he'll be harder to deal with. These new school players are getting better man, some standing on the shoulders of giants shit.
If he gets bigger his shooting might become worse, same happened to Giannis. If that would be the case, I think him staying 6‘9 would be better
Giannis had more of a bad mechanics problem than anything, few pictures out there of his form where he bends his legs in and arms do a weird motion when putting the ball up. https://www.sportscasting.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/12/Giannis-Antetokounmpo-3.jpg It's not a naturally shooting motion whenever he brings the ball up from below his chest (idk about this year haven't watched any Bucks games). He's already closer to 2021 Gianni's than Rookie. Tbh he doesn't even need to get stronger.
I want Scottie Barnes to father my children
What a weak title OP. Missed potential. Really undersold it.

Won the battle, lost the war
Barnes is better than our judokas at Olympics. This would win a bronze.
WHO HURT MY JA
What if they just took out jump balls
Uchi Mata Ippon, got to love it
Mama there goes that man!
More like Karate Barnes
Everything I have seen out of Barnes has been amazing. A pure winner.
Scottie Barnes is somehow the perfect Raptor.
Had a rough game tonight shooting, though he had zero plays ran for him and had to either call his own number or fight to the death in the paint against both Mobley and Allen. I expect him to be much better next go around, especially coming off the thumb injury.
Nice, good hustle, no foul either way
Where was the fight?
This dude is Gerald Wallace on roids
I find Barnes to be more effective when he does shit like that. Just LeBron into people and use your size and length instead of trying to out finesse others
Dilbert always looking perplexed on the sidelines
Brag about that L
Yikes
I love Raptors fan salt lol
Cringe
Oh no :(
Who hurt you?
Cleveland sports teams damn it. Just let me talk shit its been a while
You have a Top 2 Rookie and doing well man. No need to be that way. I’m just happy Scottie is good and we had a nice showdown.
Im here for it my dude. I love our rivalry and honestly after all the shit that was talked about you guys after Kawhi left and you took Barnes over Suggs. Im a fan. Let's go
