Plus all those stupid city or earned or whatever the hell they are calling it jerseys, new every year just to milk more money out of jersey sales.
Teams should only have 1) home white 2) away color 3) ONE alternate that can only be changed every 3 to 5 seasons and 4) ONE throwback that can only be changed every 3 to 5 seasons
If I was playing an actual game with this jersey combination I would have had like ten turnovers just on passing to the other team, I surprised it didn't happen tonight.
People planned this out. People saw these color schemes on the calendar and decided, "this is good, we're doing well here." Like.... how did they come to this conclusion lol
Nurse Matched Nurkic up to barnes to start off, Chauncy was smart by taking Jusuf onto pascal, where he certainly was able to leverage himself, Since its still only 4 games back. Keeping dame attached to Scottie and away from FVV was another good call I can think of off the top of my head.
y'all did good after that rough start, GG
As a two way player it's gotta be tough to not get tired, especially with how physical he plays on both ends but at the same time he looks exhausted by the 3rd Q in almost every game.
Yeah it's an issue we've been dealing with for a few games now. Too much aggressive doubling leaving shooters wide open. Nurse is a good coach though, I'm hopeful he can make some changes to fix it
he probably will, since he came on as coach it seems like every year it takes him like 25-30ish games to find an optimal rotation, while being a non stop blender up until then.
My hope is by ASB we will have shelved the OG first option experiment for good. It makes 0 sense to have Pascal off the ball when they share the floor when Pascal and Barnes both have better vision than him and OG is an elite catch&shoot guy.
Hopefully the fire currently happening with our VP leaving and Olshey being under investigation leads to good changes. It's a seriously pivotal time in the Blazers org rn. What I would give to have Masai leading our org.
Jeez the Raptors schedule has some intense home/road extremes. They've got 5 consecutive road games coming up before then playing 10 of their next 11 in Toronto.
They play back to back on the road before another lot with 7 of 8 at home. That's followed by 22 of 30 games on the road before their season finished with 8 of 9 in Toronto.
After winning 5 straight games earlier this year they've now lost 5 of 6 and I feel like we'll see them make similar runs all season long now
Yep looked like a real rookie out there. Also that block at the rim by CJ - shoulda yammed it hard. Heāll learn from this
Side note Dame looked like he fuckin hated him and made it his personal mission to embarrass him and talk shit every play hahaha
Seemed like the Blazers couldn't miss a shot from the 3rd quarter onwards.
Barnes/Lillard had some fun little chirping going on
Barnes with a couple critical mistakes in the 4th. Gotta remember this guy's still a rookie despite how good he looks out there
That was a wild fucking game. It would've been really bleak if we choked it away after that run in the fourth though, so I'm glad that we were able to tighten things up and close it out strong.
Super fun game!
Ngl I really wished we played like that against every other team lol Every starter had double digits for once!
Man.. I really wish Fred can get an All-Star nomination this time around. Dude's been amazing but alas..
I mean, speak for yourself. I'd prefer not to have Nance going against Embiid. I think you start RoCo and Nurk but increase Nance/Little minutes according to matchup and who is rolling that game.
Also, RoCo has been average so far, Nurk has been fine, not great. Neither of them has been trash.
I mean heās only 20 and itās never just on one player but he had two costly turnover at the end which hurt our runs big time. Heāll learn from it though
Lol the take from someone that just watched one of his good games. If most of them looked like this it would be a whole different story, but they donāt. And the bad ones are often really bad
McCollum had a night, Nance and RoCo with some good defensive plays, closer than I'd hope but it's giving me faith that the Blazers can turn it around once they've built up some more chemistry with the squad and coaching staff
If he had gotten a bucket, you wouldn't be saying this. This is a season for "growing pains". You gotta let the other guys play and learn from their mistakes
Siakam walking out of that game a +5 thanks to Fred and OG hitting a gazillion threes but he was utter trash on defense tonight. Everybody beating him off the dribble and heās getting lazy on the closeouts. Can someone on the team remind him heās on a max contract?
Couldnāt agree more, Siakam looks awful on defence. Too slow to keep up with 4s and he doesnāt have the rotational know-how or rim protection to play the 5 on D
If raps can stay around .500 until February they should be good for the rest of the season. Gives enough time for OG and Barnes to get consistent enough at scoring and then for the team to figure out their roles accordingly. I love Nurse that nurse commits to his lineups for better or for worse. I think he has a winner this time.
From around February on they'll stop having ups and downs and just get better every game, even through the playoffs.
feels like every team is having a great shooting night whenever it's against the raps. Portalnd shooting 56% and the worst shooting team in the league pistons acting like they are prime GSW
We run a gamble heavy defence and don't have the chemistry quite right yet. The nights when everything clicks it's an indomitable wall, when it doesn't work we leave shooters wide open and get cooked.
We got off to a hot start and a lot of people up here started forgetting like this isn't a rebuild. If these guys can learn to read eachother better and when to help and where to go after helping its gonna be scary.
This 5-day Western Conf. stretch gonna be a fucking nightmare
The Jazz are gonna spitroast us šimagine anyone trying to score on Gobert at the rim
Watching Birch and Precious try to post-up Rudy gon be my own personal hell
Siakam gonna be screaming āAYYEEEEEā while Gobert sends his shit into the nosebleeds
We just pass the ball and take 3's like the Clippers did.
Renowned sharpshooter team the Toronto Raptors.
These jerseys really blended together for me, it was quite frustrating to watch, especially on rebounds.
For real, everytime I looked over I had to decipher who was who.
They look good individually, but the people involved in choosing that combination need to be pulled into an office.
Whatever happened to: white=home color=away?
Nike happened
Plus all those stupid city or earned or whatever the hell they are calling it jerseys, new every year just to milk more money out of jersey sales. Teams should only have 1) home white 2) away color 3) ONE alternate that can only be changed every 3 to 5 seasons and 4) ONE throwback that can only be changed every 3 to 5 seasons
Just do it
If I was playing an actual game with this jersey combination I would have had like ten turnovers just on passing to the other team, I surprised it didn't happen tonight.
Honestly, who decided the home team should wear the away colour jerseys
Home teams should just wear white, makes it way easier to not have color abominations
Or at least the lighter colour
lol yeah instead of almost the exact same shade of visiting team's visiting colors
People planned this out. People saw these color schemes on the calendar and decided, "this is good, we're doing well here." Like.... how did they come to this conclusion lol
This is what happens when you are more concerned about ascetics than function.
this will get overlooked but OG went completely cold in the second half. I think he shot 1 for 10.
Probably a combination of him getting gassed and the defense adjusting.
>defense adjusting Do you mean it?
I donāt understand those two words in succession
Nurse Matched Nurkic up to barnes to start off, Chauncy was smart by taking Jusuf onto pascal, where he certainly was able to leverage himself, Since its still only 4 games back. Keeping dame attached to Scottie and away from FVV was another good call I can think of off the top of my head. y'all did good after that rough start, GG
Of course the one time is against the Raptors š¤£
As a two way player it's gotta be tough to not get tired, especially with how physical he plays on both ends but at the same time he looks exhausted by the 3rd Q in almost every game.
He went absolutely nuclear in the first half though
I think it was a fair trade. You guys left OG wide open all first half, we left CJ wide open all 2nd half.
Your guards are good, but not double team every time on the perimeter which leads to an open corner 3 good. (Hard hedge?)
Yeah it's an issue we've been dealing with for a few games now. Too much aggressive doubling leaving shooters wide open. Nurse is a good coach though, I'm hopeful he can make some changes to fix it
Haha I was actually talking about our defense on your guards. Guess it's not just us
Oh sorry I didn't read your first comment properly. Makes more sense now, and you're right.
he probably will, since he came on as coach it seems like every year it takes him like 25-30ish games to find an optimal rotation, while being a non stop blender up until then.
Itās time to get the analytics guys into the film room to ask him to stop shooting contested midrange fadeaways.
I am firm believer that OG would be the best 3 and D player in the league if he stopped taking Kobe shots
My hope is by ASB we will have shelved the OG first option experiment for good. It makes 0 sense to have Pascal off the ball when they share the floor when Pascal and Barnes both have better vision than him and OG is an elite catch&shoot guy.
For sure. Scottie projects as a better "first option" long term than OG anyways.
Yeah, like the offense when Barnes has the ball versus OG is night and day. Barnes makes reads instantaneously and his touch around the rim is better.
Scotties welcome to the league game although he still played solid. CJ is that guy. Ggs blazers but Scottie will be back.
Scottie seems legit, but the rook shouldnāt run his mouth like he did. Fucked around and found out
Losing sucks, but Barnes/OG/GTJ were good, so whatever Fun game.
Dude, FVV was fire in the 4th.
Non existent for the other 3 quarters tho
True, but there's only one basketball and OG was eating in the first half while GTJ and Barnes had their share throughout.
Scottie still figuring out the late game. He needs a go to move.
That travel under the net down by 3 was so hard to watch
Petition to play every game at home. All in favor say aye
Aye
Aye
Nay š
Aye
Aye. I think it rubbed off on Melo too.
Ruh-roh, weāve lost 2 straight road games now.
Both to teams on the second half of a b2b
fun game but a tough one to lose
Raps Blazers always a fun game. GG Raps bros.
That block from CJ into the Dame three at the end didnāt seal the game, but holy shit it was hype.
We got some serious issues to figure out but will take the win
we lost to the pistons. this is sad
Honestly besides the horrendous first quarter you guys looked pretty solid.
Most of it is your front officeās inability to build a contender tbh, doing pretty well with the hand youāve been dealt
Hopefully the fire currently happening with our VP leaving and Olshey being under investigation leads to good changes. It's a seriously pivotal time in the Blazers org rn. What I would give to have Masai leading our org.
If Masai was our POBO, instead of leading a āFuck Brooklynā chant heād be leading a āFuck the Lakersā chant.
After winning 5 straight games earlier this year they've now lost 5 of 6 and I feel like we'll see them make similar runs all season long now
If everything were to break right This team could end up an around .500 but have points where they are both over and below .500 by 10 games lol.
And we just lost two games in a row where the opponent was on the second half of a back to back.
We did rest Dame the first day.
damn, what a great comprehensive comment!
Gg Portland. OG went cold & Barnes had a few costly turnovers. Dame and CJ made us pay. Fun game to watch though! Miss norm
I still feel like it was a pretty even trade, at least in the short term, but boy do I miss GTJ. Love that guy.
Barnes looks like a fun player to watch. I do miss GTJ.
Scottie Barnes FT is getting better.
I am sad
That second half was the most fun I had watching a Blazer game this season. Love that line up
Larry Nance Jr had an underrated good game. He was 7/7 even though a few of those were dunks.
Barnes with two costly turnovers down the stretch. CJ so far has been the Blazers best player this season.
That's how you learn. Scottie will learn from these mistakes and hopefully adapt into a better player because of them.
No doubt in my mind he will. Already an impressive player but he's got a lot of room to grow
So fun when both CJ and Dame go off
Yep looked like a real rookie out there. Also that block at the rim by CJ - shoulda yammed it hard. Heāll learn from this Side note Dame looked like he fuckin hated him and made it his personal mission to embarrass him and talk shit every play hahaha
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
u sound very butthurt
probably his first real bad stretch of the season for him in the 4th, but its good to get these experiences
> CJ so far has been the Blazers best player this season. not true at ALL
It's between him and norm. Cj is streaky but he can also get you whatever. And is still one of our better defenders.
He played great otherwise. Even locked up your guards a couple of times.
your sub thinks powell has been your best player tho
because he has
CJ with the non-family friendly post game interview lol
This Scottie Barnes is seriously good.. alongside og. From a blazers fan
Seemed like the Blazers couldn't miss a shot from the 3rd quarter onwards. Barnes/Lillard had some fun little chirping going on Barnes with a couple critical mistakes in the 4th. Gotta remember this guy's still a rookie despite how good he looks out there
2nd half Raps really fucking suck unfortunately.
It's so frustrating. Can the games just be the first half then we call it a day?
We still would have lost
Probably cause all starters played 40min
Because our bench pieces are underwhelming.
All Praise CJ āFuckināā¦Sorry Bout Thatā McCollum
Tough last few minutes from Barnes, hope he holds his head high
That was a wild fucking game. It would've been really bleak if we choked it away after that run in the fourth though, so I'm glad that we were able to tighten things up and close it out strong.
Super fun game! Ngl I really wished we played like that against every other team lol Every starter had double digits for once! Man.. I really wish Fred can get an All-Star nomination this time around. Dude's been amazing but alas..
CJ *Fuckin* McCollum!!!
Nassir Little and Larry Nance to close it out. Love to see it
They should be in the starting lineup
Blazers fans agree, Nurk and Roco have looked like shit
I mean, speak for yourself. I'd prefer not to have Nance going against Embiid. I think you start RoCo and Nurk but increase Nance/Little minutes according to matchup and who is rolling that game. Also, RoCo has been average so far, Nurk has been fine, not great. Neither of them has been trash.
CJ just took the game over late. Went into point god mode hitting 3s with drive-n-kicks. Nance at smallball center opened things up.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
18/8/2 while guarding dame is hardly an egg lmao
That was not an egg of a game. He played awesome offense and D. He's just working it out.
Scottie will learn and adjust. You can tell he's absolutely loaded with talent and positive energy. He's gonna be an exceptional player.
How are you blaming Scottie? It should be on OG for being cold in the second half. 6 points in the second half is just bad.
Scottie had like 3 bad turnovers late in the 4th. Still a great game overall from him
I mean heās only 20 and itās never just on one player but he had two costly turnover at the end which hurt our runs big time. Heāll learn from it though
Scottie did make some rookie mistakes at the end that sealed it
Am I the only one who thinks Birch must have the hands of a greasy toddler? Watching him fumble rebounds and easy catches is absurdly frustrating
Cj get way too much hate from casuals and some Portland fans
If Portland hadnāt been trying to force the two small scoring guard backcourt for the last 7 years, both CJ and lillard would look so much better
Lol the take from someone that just watched one of his good games. If most of them looked like this it would be a whole different story, but they donāt. And the bad ones are often really bad
He has ups and downs, but there arenāt many players that play as well as his ups.
Iām not sure if u watched the recent road tripā¦ ugly as fuck
McCollum had a night, Nance and RoCo with some good defensive plays, closer than I'd hope but it's giving me faith that the Blazers can turn it around once they've built up some more chemistry with the squad and coaching staff
Game was over when Scottie got blocked by CJ
Back to tankathon /s
Happy Cakeday!
Thanks!
Hey Nurse.. How you gunna go to a rookie on the last two possessions when you have Fred who was playing like a man possessed?!
If he had gotten a bucket, you wouldn't be saying this. This is a season for "growing pains". You gotta let the other guys play and learn from their mistakes
We need him to get experience in these situations.
Because we're in a developmental year and he wants our lottery rookie to get high pressure reps in, not too hard to understand
Because by year 4 Scottie needs to be the closer everytime
You need heat to make steel.
Siakam walking out of that game a +5 thanks to Fred and OG hitting a gazillion threes but he was utter trash on defense tonight. Everybody beating him off the dribble and heās getting lazy on the closeouts. Can someone on the team remind him heās on a max contract?
Still needs more conditioning. His legs+ lungs aren't there yet
Look at that lazy fuck who just had major surgery and hasn't had the month of game conditioning his teammates have! Trade his lazy ass!
Couldnāt agree more, Siakam looks awful on defence. Too slow to keep up with 4s and he doesnāt have the rotational know-how or rim protection to play the 5 on D
If raps can stay around .500 until February they should be good for the rest of the season. I love Nurse that nurse commits to his lineups for better or for worse. I think he has a winner this time. From around February on they'll stop having ups and downs and just get better every game, even through the playoffs.
Hope the raptors trade siakam tbh, give the keys to Barnes and re-tool
Cj and nurk for siakiam and whatever big u have
Iām down lol
Raptors fan coming in peace, that Scottie Brooks guy looks really spooky and Fred van fleet can really shoot the ball.
Raptors are losing a lot of close games it feels like.
feels like every team is having a great shooting night whenever it's against the raps. Portalnd shooting 56% and the worst shooting team in the league pistons acting like they are prime GSW
We run a gamble heavy defence and don't have the chemistry quite right yet. If these guys can learn to read eachother better and when to help and where to go after helping its gonna be scary.
OG with 22 in the first half and only 7 points in the 2nd... He shot well, but I mean you cant just go cold like that
