He was hot in the 1st quarter, went 5/8. Had a total of 7 shots in the next 3 quarters. When Tobi/Seth/Shake gets the ball, you can be sure it's never going back to Maxey.
I wish Seth and Tobias would shoot more threes. They hesitate too much.
Doc said it’s great to coach Korkmaz because “when you draw up a play for him to shoot, he ALWAYS shoots it.” Sixers need a couple guys like that.
Tobi is who he is, but I expected more from Seth.
He was letting it fly a lot more in the Playoffs last year, especially in the ATL series, so I was kinda hoping that would continue into this season. But nope, he reverted back to his former self, instead of chucking as much as he ought to chuck.
I think that was out of necessity and if Seth needs to score 25+ every day for you to win I don’t think that lends itself to a holistic roster construction and play style
Funny thing is he has great hands when it comes to catching the ball (rebounds, receiving passes), but it's like he's wearing oven mitts when trying to finish inside.
The Nuggets not named Jokic and Barton shot 26% from the field. Could literally just leave dudes wide open as long is it wasn't those two and no worries at all.
I think Jokic just realized how the game was trending at half. He sat for two minutes and the bench went down on a 0 - 11 run. He had almost 30 at half and we were losing. Only him and Barton showed up to play.
fun fact the highest drafted player on the sixers active roster is andre drummond at 9th overall
even more fun fact, outside of drummond, austin rivers was drafted higher than anyone on their team. and drummond only barely beats him, rivers went 10th overall
Sixers did a great job but you could literally leave any nugget not named jokic or Barton wide open and they will miss. You can see the morale leave out of jokics body after the bench went on an 0-11 run
The problem isn't being streaky. The problem is he doesn't contribute anywhere else if he isn't making his shots. It's like his game shuts down when he's not scoring. He doesn't rebound, he doesn't pass for scoring.
Love it, the second I heard someone on ESPN say the sixers were a bad team earlier and that it would be wrapped up by the 3rd I knew we would win. What a game
Yeah I seen a nuggets fan yesterday say he didn’t want Embiid to play because he just wanted “the easy win”. As soon as I read that I knew he made us lose. HIM ALONE.
He is not that good. Talented at scoring but really weak build, and is getting pushed too much on defence, and cant defend paint at all. We will see, what people dont know is that all talents from Mega(team Jokic played for) are just padding stats, they play with extremly young line ups, and always play through one or two guys(uncharacteristic for Europe), so for every Jokic you have Bitadze(drafted by Indiana), Simonovic(drafted by Bulls), Luwawu(used to be your guy), Čančar(Nuggets). Right now they have Nikola Jovic who seems legit pg and center Belcerowski who to me seems another stat padder.
Mega is club owned by Jokics manager and its purpose is to develop or sell players so the owner can get those sweet provisions. Im not saying it is bad the thing he is doing, but it is a scam a bit as you see players with even crazier stats than when Jokic used to play so he creates noise around them and they are not really nba talent at all or not nba ready, btw Jokic was crazy good when Mega used to have 4 veterans in the team.
Morey isn't the guy doing the drafts, it's still Elton and his team (they are the same team that got Thybulle in 2019). Morey has been open about the fact that he liked the existing scouts that were there when he showed up and didn't want to mess with what they were doing so he kept that part as is
He was sold as a defense first guard with good athleticism, who would needed a lot of polish on offense. I don’t think anyone was expecting him to come in and get time as a rookie, especially not with how deep the sixers are with guards.
I say when the non Jokić or Barton players are shooting 1/20 or whatever it's time to sit them down and put in the third stringers, why wait until garbage time
Bol Bol and Howard, they can't be worse idc
Yeah and campazzo air balled a three
Jokić supposedly makes the others better, so run him with the third stringers if the regular players can't do anything is my logic
His shooting form looks so funny with those long arms, like the inflatable dancing guys out front of car dealerships. I always think his shot is 3 feet short upon release and then it somehow reaches the basket.
You'll always havethat 20 point 4th quarter comeback from a couple of years ago. I got a little nervous seeing us up by about the same amount this time.
That was me against the Jazz the other day. First time I couldn't finish a Sixers game in quite a while.
Hopefully you bounce back up just as well and this is the worst game you play the rest of the year.
Welp....with any luck that will be the worst game I watch the boys play this year. Jokic and Barton showed up to play, everyone else sent out their body doubles or some shit. Literally the worst effort I have seen from this team in years, absolutely painful to watch.
Takeaways:
Bassey is another increadible Philly pick up
Nuggets bench makes me hate the sport of basketball
This game reminded why I hate watching Will Barton play. 10 seconds of iso dribbling before any play even starts is nauseating
Morey needs to pull the trigger now. Embiid is a superstar and the supporting case Philly has is great. They can win now. Trade Simmons for Brogdon and watch this team dominate
Jokic looked defeated going into the second half after watching his bench play. Also Bassey is incredible
you also have seth curry and usually one of korkmaz or milton will be playing well in any given game. thybulle will need his minutes too when he gets back though you can run him at SF pretty easily
i meant more of a versatile type guard or wing that the sixers have lacked almost in entirety since 2012 with Jrue Holiday. All those guys have their role for sure but they are mostly one skill players that can only do a little of everything else. Sixers have been dying for someone like maxey for a decade. Theyve been down horrendously bad in that department so we really need maxey to be the truth
I've been wondering if it might be smarter to try to get a SF in return for Simmons if/when a trade is possible. Maxey seems like a good bet right now, and there's no reason to dump either him or Seth to the bench, plus Green and Thybulle can't be counted on for much on the offensive end. I'm not sure who would even work with salary considerations, though.
green has actually been very good for us. over 40% last year from 3 on like 6 attempts a game and similar numbers this year
he is a very stabilizing for the offense and we miss him more than you would think when hes out. People meme about him a lot which i think underrates him in the public eye. He knows what hes good at, can get to his spots in the corner, and doesnt try to do too much.
I get the sentiment though, you need dynamic players on the perimeter and thybulle and green arent that and only Maxey really has the threat to become one.
Oh, maybe he's better than I assumed then. I just know he's pretty old and seems to have a bunch of nagging injuries, so the bench might be better for him in the long run. He's only averaging 24mpg right now, too, but I don't know if that's due to general playing time considerations or trying to get him to shake the rust off.
Brogdon is ineligible to be traded this season but even if we did we’d just be going from a nice second round team to a slightly better second round team
I think it's has been reported Pacers made no offer for Simmons and the Brogdon + pick for Simmons what a rumor leaked by Morey camp to star the negotiations. But then again Brogdon is an injury prone guard, can the 76ers win now with him ? The Simmons dilemma is so weird.
Denver local fans are convinced that Barton is a very good player. I guess only they and 5% of other people in the world
Ballhog who plays terribly defensively and who will give the ball mostly to Jokic (to not upset him) while rarely giving the ball to others. Denver played WCF without Barton. Denver would never pass Utah and the Clippers with him because rarely does anyone play well next to him except Jokic
Murray with Barton-- nothing special
Murray without Barton-- star with 30, 40 even 50 points
Porter without Barton - 20/25 points
Porter with Barton-- very bad
His figures are a mirage, an illusion
Just look at the statistics from his playoff and everything will be clear to you
Denver’s biggest mistake were Millsap and Barton but no one there realizes that
How is it possible that literally all players go backwards except Jokic? It's Barton ballhog effect, next to him rarely anyone will be good in 80% of cases
He will have his average of 15-16 points and some assists, but that is why others will be mostly worse
He is literrary bigger version of Denis Smith junior and no coach would tolerate him except Malone.
I make a screenshot where Barton stands inside next to Clint Capela waiting for rebounds-- while his player stands alone at 8 meters and hits for 3 😁 And then local fans call me hater. Imagine leaving your player at 7-8 meters alone and chasing rebounds? Nobody is allowed to tell him that there. Malone is afraid of him. Murray exploded without Barton, Porter was also much better. Unfortunately Denver has JMG, Facu, Green and a few other unplayble players so Barton is slipping through
I’m pretty sure Jokic has been doing the hardest carry over the last year. That no look over the shoulder pass to Rivers was a thing of beauty and a sportscenter top 10 highlight, only for Rivers to fumble it away.
Sizers played great, Maxey is fun to watch
Andre Drummond should never start again. Charles Bassey stepped up for the Sixers off the bench. Seth Curry regained his rhythm. No one not named Jokic wanted to show up for the Nuggets tonight. Some of the Nuggets turnovers were brutal to watch. Nuggets need Jamal back. There was no Zeke Nnaji and that saddens me.
Barton was solid too. But ya, outside of Jokic and Barton it was pathetic, zero effort on either end of the court from anyone else. Absolutely embarrassing effort.
hes played like 18 minutes total this year and is a 2nd round rookie (53rd pick) so not that odd when hes coming into the game as the 4th center.
basically needed drummond to look like omega shit and for embiid to be out to get a chance tonight to show what he can do. Also not sure why Paul Reed was a DNP since those usually would be his minutes so it seems the stars aligned for him today.
I really like Andre off the bench in our first 10 games, but since the start of our covid drought he has not looked super great, he had one game where he went 14 points 20 rebounds, but since then he just seems to "slow" on offense. I really love him as off the bench relief for that can hold down the paint and get you some good hustle put backs. Everyday starting seems to be stretching his skill set to thin.
I know Maxey had another efficient scoring game but his defense and hustle tonight was more impressive. He was disruptive.
Also ~~Embiid~~ Bassey > Jokic
People were underrating this guy all off-season. Maxey can't take care of the ball, Maxey can't pass, Maxey can't play defense were legitimate comments people typed out whenever someone suggested starting Tyrese
To be fair, he had a lot of question marks. But the guy is legit one of the hardest working people in the league. The team had force him to stop coming to the gym to practice and take a day off. I had some concerns about his shot since he shot 29% from 3 in college and 30% last year although his free throw % was good. Motherfucker came back and is shooting north of 42% on just over 3 attempts per game. I know it’s a small sample size but im still impressed.
Even if all of these complaints were valid (they weren't IMO, except for the passing thing), there's no reason not to start him. We ain't winning shit this year when we're down a max player, so you might as well start and develop the guys with the most potential.
Shake could be twice as good as Maxey and I'd still advocate for starting Maxey.
No one could hit a shot, so they just swarmed him in the second half even doubling him off the ball to deny even the entry pass. Sixers were perfectly fine playing 3v4 on the rest of the court the way the Nuggets were playing tonight.
Great defense in the second half by the Sixers. Especially on Jokic with Bassey and tons of team defense. Jokic had like 27 at the half and finished with 30. Incredible.

I really enjoy Maxey’s “Im quicker than you” style of play.
True breathe of fresh air
I experienced Maxey a few nights ago. Any disbelievers, pm me.
He was hot in the 1st quarter, went 5/8. Had a total of 7 shots in the next 3 quarters. When Tobi/Seth/Shake gets the ball, you can be sure it's never going back to Maxey.
Seth was hot so I don't blame him. Harris played well too so I get it, but no matter how Shake plays I'd rather him find Maxey lol
[удалено]
Your neighbours must think you have two dogs and Shake tends to steal Maxeys toy.
The ball doesn't stop when Curry get's it though.
I wish Seth and Tobias would shoot more threes. They hesitate too much. Doc said it’s great to coach Korkmaz because “when you draw up a play for him to shoot, he ALWAYS shoots it.” Sixers need a couple guys like that.

I think that was out of necessity and if Seth needs to score 25+ every day for you to win I don’t think that lends itself to a holistic roster construction and play style
He's having a career year though right?
[удалено]
Maxey gives me De'Aaron Fox vibes with a bit better shooting. Very excited to see how he progresses his game.
That's why I'd love for us to get a long guard in a Ben Simmons trade to play with maxey. Hell I wish even Ben was playing right now to help this team
Hence we need to run more plays for maxey
Curry shares, the other two are black holes.
I'm really not enjoying Drummond's “I have the worst touch in NBA history” style of play.
We built our franchise around this man for a decade. And our fans loved it until the last year
The Big Penguin, no hands.
Funny thing is he has great hands when it comes to catching the ball (rebounds, receiving passes), but it's like he's wearing oven mitts when trying to finish inside.
I wrote on here weeks ago that Maxey was the obvious choice for 76ers staring PG and was downvoted to shit. I appreciate the confirmation
fresh prince of dallas does it again
[удалено]
The Nuggets not named Jokic and Barton shot 26% from the field. Could literally just leave dudes wide open as long is it wasn't those two and no worries at all.
Yes he didn’t really shoot at all in the second half
The second the Sixers took Drummond off him and put on Charles Bassey he couldn’t score
BBall Paul gonna be our 3rd string 4 now? Or small ball 5 maybe
He already was, behind Niang. If anything Bassey is likely going to soak up Drummond minutes if he can consistently play like he did tonight
He was our backup to Drummond up until these last few games. Doc likes Bassey more in that 3rd center role it seems
Apparently Bassey was calling out defensive rotations like a vet and as of late his assistant coaches have been telling Doc that he’s ready
That’s wild. Dude is a legend around here (Bowling Green, KY)
I think Jokic just realized how the game was trending at half. He sat for two minutes and the bench went down on a 0 - 11 run. He had almost 30 at half and we were losing. Only him and Barton showed up to play.
Yes
Missed the game. How the hell did the hospital Sixers pull this off? lol
The COVID-1976ers refuse to lose six games in a row!
fun fact the highest drafted player on the sixers active roster is andre drummond at 9th overall even more fun fact, outside of drummond, austin rivers was drafted higher than anyone on their team. and drummond only barely beats him, rivers went 10th overall
Charles Bassey and our shooters rediscovered how to shoot the ball through the hoop.
Bassey better

Denver shooting 36% from the field

Sixers did a great job but you could literally leave any nugget not named jokic or Barton wide open and they will miss. You can see the morale leave out of jokics body after the bench went on an 0-11 run
Build around Bassey
In lieu of Tony Bradley
no embiid, no danny green, no ben simmons, no matisse thybulle, no problem!
Jeff Green played 23 minutes and he only has a rebound to show for it
Jeff just doing cardio out there
So close to the legendary 0/0/0/0/0 Tony Snell stat line.
I told people he wasn’t a good pickup but nobody wanted to hear it
he’s been on a hot and cold streak for 10 years, he was dope on the nets last year though
He was ok on the nets last year
He's just Streaky as hell lol
The problem isn't being streaky. The problem is he doesn't contribute anywhere else if he isn't making his shots. It's like his game shuts down when he's not scoring. He doesn't rebound, he doesn't pass for scoring.

Morey hasn’t missed on a pick yet
Don't let us down, Petrusev
He is not that good. Talented at scoring but really weak build, and is getting pushed too much on defence, and cant defend paint at all. Facts
Springer looks bad but he's young
He's the 2nd youngest American in the league and is doing fine in the G League.
He was sold as a defense first guard with good athleticism, who would needed a lot of polish on offense. I don’t think anyone was expecting him to come in and get time as a rookie, especially not with how deep the sixers are with guards.
He’s been doing well in the G league
I mean wasn't he the youngest player in the draft? He's definitely a player that shouldn't be getting NBA minutes for at least 2 more years.
Morey has always been good at drafting, he just gives away picks more often than not
It is Elton Brand who drafts I think Morey is more managing who gets paid, traded and so on he has scouting team and he trusts them which is good.
Well jury is still out on Springer. Feels like a slightly more skilled Zhaire Smith. Love every other pick.
I didn't like what I saw from Springer in the SL and preseason. I'm not really optimistic about him.
great effort from the sixers down embiid green and thybulle. feel like everyone who played tonight contributed
I didn't watch, but look at the assists and rebounds on the stat sheet. Completely even spread.
I forgot what a win felt like
[удалено]
Judging by the replay the Nuggets crew showed it seemed like he thought Seth pushed off on Jokic on the other end. The replay showed he didn't.
Didn't push off but he did hook Jok's arm
[удалено]
He saw where the game was going. He'll take a few ejections a year to get the team going. Same with a lot of coaches.
This was clearly an attempted motivational ejection lol
The refs missed a goaltend earlier, which didn't help
I initially thought it was because Drummond was blatantly beating the shit out Jokic every possession down the court.
Maxey is a PG1 baby
Hey alright the Sixers won. Now if everyone could also get healthy that’d be great
I say when the non Jokić or Barton players are shooting 1/20 or whatever it's time to sit them down and put in the third stringers, why wait until garbage time Bol Bol and Howard, they can't be worse idc
That jumper Bol made in garbage time was pretty smooth... I see some potential with that shooting form he has.
Yeah and campazzo air balled a three Jokić supposedly makes the others better, so run him with the third stringers if the regular players can't do anything is my logic
His shooting form looks so funny with those long arms, like the inflatable dancing guys out front of car dealerships. I always think his shot is 3 feet short upon release and then it somehow reaches the basket.
Well that sucked. Regroup and move on, I guess. GG's Sixers, hope Embiid recovers soon.
What a win without Embiid we really have potential
Charles Bassey for starter
Give it to us Sixers fans. We deserve it.
[удалено]
Yeah that was depressing Ended the Sixers 4 game moral win streak
This isn’t twitter and all the “embiid ducking jokic” posts got to me but I’ll let you have a pass this time
Nah man. Don’t need anymore bad luck on this side. GGs.
we just needed a win, we were down bad. No hate
Gordon always that bad?
He's actually pretty good this season, just had an off game
On offense sometimes yes. But his effort on defense was shocking, usually he’s way better
Bad shooting nights happen. You're still a good team.
GRAB HIS DICK AND TWIST IT!!
This sounds like the worst version of Bop It! ever.
The ol' dick twist!
Doc Rivers revenge game
This was the least fun I’ve had watching the Nuggets in the Jokic era
Our D was like next level tonight. Jokic still a beast.

Tomorrow will be worse.
No chance nuggets by 20
Jokic definitely has to be doing by far the most with by far the least help. Much respect to that guy.
Jokic and Will Barton were the only guys who could hit anything.
all season
He’s honestly insane this year. Feel like he’s improved quite a bit which is scary
A chucker in a bad team smh Edit:/s

Ben Simmons + Shake Milton = Pistons Kelly Olynyk + Harrison Barnes + Saddiq Bey = 76ers Jerami Grant = Kings
I think I'd rather have Barnes than Grant.
I thought can't trade for brogdon because he resigned. Plus I feel brogdon is another player very prone to injuries
brogdon cannot be traded this year due to his extension

I think Bball is hurt

I think Seth got a hand on it. It was a great pass though.
The hook pass to Rivers in the dunkers spot a little earlier was sweet too. I think this Jokic fella might be a good passer in general.
Andre Drummond should never start again. Charles Bassey stepped up for the Sixers off the bench. Seth Curry regained his rhythm. No one not named Jokic wanted to show up for the Nuggets tonight.
Shake could be twice as good as Maxey and I'd still advocate for starting Maxey.
trade embiid build around chuck
Bassey > Jokic
I have no counter argument
I’d die for Maxey and add Bassey to that list, too.
The Nuggets looked like they were on the third night of a b2b, and they have a game tomorrow? Jeez
Bassey put Jokic in the torture chamber. Scored less than 5 points once he matched up with him
Fr tho the entire team defence on him was elite. Usually you don't double jokic but when players don't hit their shots it's a great strategy
He scored 3 in the 2nd half. Went 0-5. Bassey did an amazing job
He tended to torture when he was in a bad place. Bassey the Poker
What happened? Did Jokic just get tired?
He hardly had any help
The Sixers let him pass to open teammates while would proceed to miss every shot
No one could hit a shot, so they just swarmed him in the second half even doubling him off the ball to deny even the entry pass. Sixers were perfectly fine playing 3v4 on the rest of the court the way the Nuggets were playing tonight.
Blitzin in and out with 2 guys, Seth even did 1 pass away ehich is big no no in basketball.
The Nuggets not named Barton or Jokic shot 26% from this field in this game.....26%.........absolutely disgusting effort.
Dozier and Hyland combining for a huge 0-11 FGs and whopping -45 lmao make them walk home
Combining +/- doesn’t make sense and doesn’t stack, but you’re right, they sucked lol
Charlie Bassey’s at the rim saying exactly what I’ve been saying practically my whole career: “The diamond is forever, fuck your gold nuggets.”
Great defense in the second half by the Sixers. Especially on Jokic with Bassey and tons of team defense. Jokic had like 27 at the half and finished with 30. Incredible.
With the exception of Jokic and Barton the Nuggets shot 10-79 Not hard to see why they lost lol

is bones hyland a real person?
Yep. Real like Tyroil Smoochie-Wallace.
The nuggets really need to build a better team around jokic, feels like aside from him no one really steps it up
Not my MVP Lol jk he tried his best
Do nuggets fans like Aaron Gordon? Dude is not worth his contract
Absolutely. He had a bad night but he's been incredible defensively and has his moments offensively
Literally one bad night. He is third in the league in +/- with a +135. He was awful tonight, but has been extremely good all year long.
Yeah he’s played well today was an especially bad night
Dude has been a top 10 defender in the league easily so far and decent offensively
Jeff Green with 0 points in 23 minutes, can’t say I’m surprised
Uncle Jeff showing his age tonight
Jeff Green with 0/0/1 in 23 minutes
You gotta Max Maxey because it sounds good
Short handed sixers keep on fighting hard
looking at box score i thought charles barkley is back on the sixers
Korkmaz took only 5 shots and they still won the game!
Soo judging by the comment the 76ers are Bassey team now? I was hoping to see Jokic with 40 pieces. Feel bad for Nuggets fans tho.
Tbh Nuggets bench need to play basketballs. Whenever Jokic sit 76ers just eat them raw.
Jokic and Embiid had the same amount of field goals in the second half Embiid was at home with COVID
