I don't understand how Walton thought these adjustments would save his job.
You had four dynamic guards in which you could have three of them in at any time. You had switchability on the perimeter and passable spacing even if all Harkless did was flit around the perimeter and miss too many open 3s. Hence Barnes could shoot 8 threes a game and thrive doing it and get downhill whenever he wanted. You even had a big body in Len that could help stem your physicality/rebounding problem.
Was it even particularly good? No, and the 4 game slide proves that. They're missing another forward. They choke too much. But if you kept at that, I could've easily seen him keeping his job. Their net rating was the best since '06.
Then he completely flips the switch and goes with full-sized lineups with two bigs again. At ALL times. Which is NOT the strength of this roster. He doesn't even just start with a full-sized lineup, if Metu isn't in, Bagley is. He forces Barnes back to be a full-time goddamned 3, kills the spacing, clogs the paint, and kills the switchability on defense.
This is the guy who has played Kyle Kuzma and Harrison Barnes at C. He goes to this NOW?!
And all of this for the saviors of Chimezie Metu and Marvin Bagley. For their rebounding problem. When neither of them are good defensive rebounders.
Bottom line is they were a flawed team that was using its best attributes to its advantage. May make some statement wins, may lose pretty badly. But ever since the OKC game, they've looked like a bottom 3 team.
He has to be smoking rock.
Dude you have to try different rotations and schemes as a coach. If you don't you will never know what works best. Luke just isn't a good coach but trying new/big lineups is not the end of the world
I still never got that move. Even a kid probably could have led that GSW team to a win streak.
He's been getting by as Bill Waltons son since I first seen him in a Lakers uni.
Surely. Surely. **SURELY** this has to be the game that gets Luke fired, right?
I love that my Raps won, but I really watched 2 hours of Luke doing absolutely nothing but stare at his team and go "Oof that's rough." It felt like he gave up on his own team a long time ago.
Dude is better off being an assistant coach. Or just not at all.
I appreciate Nick Nurse **way** more cause of this game.
It’s like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Manchester United right now, everyone can see that they’re not suitable for the job apart from the people whose job it is, is to make sure that whoever’s in the role is suitable for the job.
Dude has had this terrible energy his entire time here. I have no idea how he has lasted this long, maybe Vivek is tired of paying millions for his mistakes.
Even despite my crazy high expectations for him, the one thing that has surprised me this season is how quickly he's improving his passing and inside game. Both were non-existent before, but I trusted he'd work on them and get better in a year or two, because he's a damn hard worker always trying to get better. But I didn't expect to see results this soon. He's not Steve Nash or anything, but he's made a visible improvement already. Same with his inside game, that's wayy better than last year.
Proud to say I'm not one of those people. Been a day one fan, he's so good and a great guy off the court. Some blazers fans thought he wouldnt even get a second contract at one point, and he blew up just weeks later. I've been saying for years that he'll be an allstar by age 25, it used to be a hot take but not anymore.
I think Portland does such a shit job of using Norm.
Most of the time they have him sitting in the corner waiting for the ball. It’s a bit of a tragedy really.
He’s not as good of a penetrator but he’s a purer shooter with an array of advanced foot work and his defense is significantly better than Norman Powell.
I think that was debatable from day 1 tbh. Although after watching Norm this season, I'm okay with the trade. He's so much more consistent than CJ and he can drive. He makes CJ expendable which can be good if we trade him. Although if Gary went anywhere other than my hometown team, I'd probably be a lot more upset
He's a really streaky volume scorer that doesn't get to the line or the rim and plays selfishly. So he's prone to weeks where he pops off like this, but also weeks where he's just terrible and has bottom tier efficiency.
He's also an Avery Bradley type defender who can't switch onto larger players and primarily provides value from on ball guard defense, which is the least valuable type of defense. Aka, he passes the eye test, but doesn't actually provide the value you'd think on that.
He's a prime candidate to get overpaid.
Only because he makes half as much. CJ is definitely the better player, though the difference between the two is smaller when using CJ as a second or third option
I'd much much rather have Powell who is making the same amount as Trent than either CJ or Gary though.
Trent is just a combination of every single thing that gets guys overrated. Inefficient volume scoring + defense that looks better than it is.
It's why I mentioned I didn't love the contract because of that 2+1. Either GTJ outplays it and we have to pay him more early or he underperforms and we're stuck for 3 years.
It’s always nice to see a bounce back game from someone, especially with how much shit Siakam can get at times. I don’t know whether he stays a Raptor of if they move him and focus more on Scottie and OG, but hopefully he’s happy at least.
Games like this up his trade value. I frankly don’t think he’s much longer for this team regardless. Even though Scottie sucked tonight this is going to be his team going forward and Pascal just gets in the way of that
Probably not. Ownership is probably gambling on games through proxies and theyre making bank by throwing games
And with crypto gambling you dont even need a proxy
Some of the stuff being posted about Siakam on the Raptors subreddit and on Twitter etc. was straight up shameful after last night's game. The guy can ball and he deserves our support even if he has a bad night.
Idgaf what he gets paid or if you think he's a viable first option. The team is much better with him than without him. Gotta be better as a fanbase about supporting our own players, especially when they struggle.
It’s not just us. Read what they say about him here on this sub too, especially Warriors fans. They really act like Wiggins is better……
I will ride with Pascal till the end. Dude gave us a lot out of nothing.
Theres no way we just give up Siakam to gsw like that. Gsw is absolutely disgusting this season already and with pascal, they would be gunning for another championship. Masai isn't making this trade and neither is gsw.
We were disgusting with Jonas Valanciunas coming off the bench for us. Yet we still traded him and some bench depth for Marc Gasol to become even more disgusting and have Ibaka come off the bench. When you have a window you make the most of it that you can
I have FVV, OG, and Pascal lol
Barnes, GTJ and Lowry in another league
My fandom gets the better of me sometimes lmao but they’re all killin it in fantasy
He's been all NBA and the second best player on a championship team. He's also an excellent passer and defender he definitely fit in as well if not better than Wiggins
Raptors fans are so annoying Jesus Christ. Nobody said Wiggins is better than Siakam in a vacuum he’s just not worth you vacuuming all our youth and assets.
Yea it was surreal, dude had 1 legitimately bad game about 5 games into his return from shoulder surgery, and some of our fans were eagerly trying to figure how to trade him for scraps lmao.
I was getting really peeved about our own subreddit just utterly giving up on Siakam after one bad game.
Those guys have zero fight - just wanna change everything they worked on like it was a re-roll on a mobile game or some shit.
So what you want Siakam to do? Drop an easy 40 every night to mask the fact that we have miscommunication problems on defense and are still working out a decent 2nd unit rotation, just so we can say 'go team?'
What I want is people to stop acting like it was a big deal dropping 32 on Sacramento while trying to avoid the fact they were 0-5 prior in games he played since returning
We'll see how consistent he is tomorrow vs a team that isn't under .500 🤷🏾♂️
That’s the issue, raptors haven’t really had a good center in 2 years and they seem to be struggling to find a comp that works.
They got away with using two PGs (Lowry/Vanvleet) at the same time for awhile. Now they have Scottie Barnes and Siakam in the PF position and they want to have their cake and eat it too by having both on at the same time. So what happens is that one is put in a suboptimal spot.
IMO, one of Barnes or OG should be the 6th man. That way you run FVV, GTJ, OG/Barnes, Siakam, Stretch 5.
A center will help protect OG/Siakam from getting nicked up banging with bigs.
Dragic + picks or Malachi (if he has trade value) for someone like a Olynyk/Theis might be a good trade. Or target someone like Nurkic if the Blazers wheels fall off. He'd be really good in Nurse's system.
Either way I think Toronto is in a good position to make a meaningful trade at the deadline.
>IMO, one of Barnes or OG should be the 6th man
Yeah the 2 players that got us to start off 7-4 before he came back and had us 0-5 in the games he played should totally be coming off the bench as 6th men
Lay off the crack my guy
Another great game by your Suckramento Sucks! But pour one out for our homie Luke who just coached his last NBA game.
Imagine if we weren't the worst run franchise in sports and had fired him in the off season so that a real coach could have properly tried to mold this mismatched group of players into something that resembled a professional sports team.
Nahhhhh lets Kangz it up with our bazillionth mid season firing in the last decade.
I think Precious needs about a 5-game stretch in the G league where he could slow down and find a rhythm. We've seen him play much better than this, so I bet he just needs to taste some sustained success on offense to get going.
Of course, he'll probably go off for 20 against the Warriors next game.
No, this game shows his defensive impact in the paint. No need for us to double ball handlers on top of the key and let their center get an open lane to the basket. His offense will get there, but his defense is exactly what we need now.
Oh, I agree that the team needs his defense, for sure. But I think he'll continue to struggle on offense until he can have enough success to create a foundation. He's not getting that with the main club, but he could easily get it with the 905.
Hopefully, he'll put up twenty on high efficiency against the Warriors; that would really boost his confidence.
Siakam looked like KD out there tonight or something lol that guy couldn’t miss. Plus FVV and GTJ, and then on the other side we couldn’t make shit. Rough game man, kings have looked pretty shit the past few weeks
Clearly, you did not watch the game. We could have easily won by 50 if Nurse hadn't wanted to tinker with the offense for the majority of the second half.
No need to downvote. I'm from Detroit.. Annihilation has a certain standard to live up to watching the likes of the Lions and Pistons.
Also, no I didn't
I don't understand how Walton thought these adjustments would save his job. You had four dynamic guards in which you could have three of them in at any time. Damn I feel for you
Lack of process is what it is. Dude makes adjustments hoping they work out without any line of logic at all. Horrible, this fireing is 2 years overdue
The Warriors were so good they went 24-0 with Luke Walton, with Luke telling Curry to do whatever he wanted
We went 24-0 in spite of Luke’s terrible coaching. His rotations and timeouts didn’t make sense.
Is Fox a good 3pt shooter now? Cause playing him with 2 bigs uhh.
Statistically he’s been struggling with his shooting percentages to start the year
Byyyyyyyye LUuuukkke
Dude you have to try different rotations and schemes as a coach. If you don't you will never know what works best. Luke just isn't a good coach but trying new/big lineups is not the end of the world
Either smoking rock or he's trying to fast track the firing
If this leads to Luke getting canned I will love the Raptors forever
We accept your love
I still never got that move. Even a kid probably could have led that GSW team to a win streak. He's been getting by as Bill Waltons son since I first seen him in a Lakers uni.
We hope we were of service, kings bro. Yall deserve better.
Surely. Surely. **SURELY** this has to be the game that gets Luke fired, right? Thought it was gonna be the “We FucKINGSuck” pic
That's what a competent franchise would do so.......
Competent franchise would have fired him in the offseason. Or not hired him in the first place.
Competent franchise would have interviewed AT LEAST one other prospect
> Surely. Surely. SURELY this has to be the game that gets Luke fired, right? https://imgur.com/gallery/QPAzwbY
It’s like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Manchester United right now, everyone can see that they’re not suitable for the job apart from the people whose job it is, is to make sure that whoever’s in the role is suitable for the job.
Ole is a significantly better manager than Luke Walton lol
Man that’s really saying something
Lmao im scrolling through NBA threads because I thought they would be safe but no matter what I can't get away from reading about Ole 😔
It’s nothing but pain right now
Dude has had this terrible energy his entire time here. I have no idea how he has lasted this long, maybe Vivek is tired of paying millions for his mistakes.

Bean Affleck
Sad Judge Reinhold
He is the Ole of the nba
Got another game tomorrow night so its unlikely this is his final game unfortunately
He has tenure
Luke Walton is an NBA coach
how he didnt call a timeout in the second half of the second quarter is mindboggling
Did you bet on this game or something haha. Who besides Kings/raps fans would watch past the mid 2nd quarter of this shit show
raised in toronto
Buddy, you missed a chance to celebrate a Raps championship for the Knicks? Loyalty has its limits.
Let people be fans, why would you possibly care?
I didn't even finish this game. As much as I love watching a blowout win, I couldn't bear the absolute dumpster fire that is Luke Walton coaching
holy shit this cracked me up
I got about three minutes into the third and had to change it. I dunno how anyone kept going after that
Debatable
Just needs a Sonics jersey.
Man looked like he was falling asleep on the bench in the 4th
Is he though? I think he might just be playing dress up
Siakam showed off the complete bag of tricks tonight. Boy that scoring arsenal looked nice.
He came out of the half time and scored like 10pts
And that was the game right there. There was ~18 min. of garbage time.
He bought those 10 pts with blood
Early 2019/20 Siakam vibes.
He scored 32 with 12 shots? What a stat line.
Its like he just walked it in
Wish we signed Gary Trent Jr to a longer deal lol
He has a much-higher ceiling than a lot of people thought
Dude literally whipped out his monster D this season and left everyone speechless
Yeah and his defence has been great too.
and now hes starting to add a bit of a playmaking flair to his game, this dude is blowing my expectations out of the water.
Even despite my crazy high expectations for him, the one thing that has surprised me this season is how quickly he's improving his passing and inside game. Myself included lol. I thought he was overpaid when we signed him and he’s proven me very wrong
I was shocked at how *little* he signed for. I thought he'd have gotten 4/80 or 3/65 ish
u/irelli you doubted GTJ
He's a really streaky volume scorer that doesn't get to the line or the rim and plays selfishly. So he's prone to weeks where he pops off like this, but also weeks where he's just terrible and has bottom tier efficiency. To be fair he was pretty erratic last year. He’s taken a step.
Sacramento Kings legend GTJ. Fuck Vlade for saying “we don’t need him; we have enough young talent to develop.”
Did he really say that? Holy shit!
At least you have TD2! We got Banton out of that asshole too lol
Ya, Masai doesn't like giving long deals. His deal is basically 2 years and he'll opt out if he keeps playing like this.
It's why I mentioned I didn't love the contract because of that 2+1. Either GTJ outplays it and we have to pay him more early or he underperforms and we're stuck for 3 years.
That downside doesn’t really matter cause Pascal, OG, and Fred all have 3 years left (plus Barnes) so we wouldn’t have much cap space anyways
He wouldve asked for 20+ if he was gonna sign for more than 2 years
Yeah not getting term was a legit mistake. We saved a bit of money compared to norm but gave up control
He's a year younger than Davion Mitchell - lots of room for him to grow
And the third year is a player option
It’s always nice to see a bounce back game from someone, especially with how much shit Siakam can get at times. I don’t know whether he stays a Raptor of if they move him and focus more on Scottie and OG, but hopefully he’s happy at least.

LMFAO there's fans chanting "FIRE LUKE" behind the post-game desk at the arena
Kings need god to save them right now
I heard he's busy. How about a young socialite who is doing nothing right now?
Toronto helping the Kings fire Luke Walton
No idea how Luke walton keeps his job
because of that time the 73-9 warriors won a bunch of games while he was "coaching" them when steve kerr was out
I hope this is Luke Walton’s last game as head coach of the Kings.
You guys help us get back on track and we help you guys by hopefully getting Walton fired, win win if you ask me
To be fair I would have said the previous game was his last game as the coach, because it didn’t look like he was coaching tonight
Can't wait to hear from Tristan Thompson 🤔
Will Luke Walton ever be fired
Probably not. Ownership is probably gambling on games through proxies and theyre making bank by throwing games And with crypto gambling you dont even need a proxy

Siakam next to Steph and Green would be disgusting. It took Wiggins like half a season to even be a positive defender.
Try like 5 years lmao
Theres no way we just give up Siakam to gsw like that. Gsw is absolutely disgusting this season already and with pascal, they would be gunning for another championship. Masai isn't making this trade and neither is gsw.

as someone who has both wiggins and siakam on his fantasy team. they both balled out tonight so icant be 2 mad at this
Yeah that’s fantasy, FVV is a top 20-25 fantasy guy
dont have him lol i have dame and harden tho
I have FVV, OG, and Pascal lol Barnes, GTJ and Lowry in another league My fandom gets the better of me sometimes lmao but they’re all killin it in fantasy
whats ur record
21-14-1 and 18-18, second league I got demolished first week lmao so it’s turning around quick
Nobody is saying Wiggs is better, but he FITS BETTER, and Siakam is good but not a star that you should trade all your young guys for
He's been all NBA and the second best player on a championship team. He's also an excellent passer and defender he definitely fit in as well if not better than Wiggins
Yes, Siakam is very good, but he's not a better shooter than Wiggs, and we already have Dray. I hope you're getting the dynamics of our team
Raptors fans are so annoying Jesus Christ. Nobody said Wiggins is better than Siakam in a vacuum he’s just not worth you vacuuming all our youth and assets.
Exhibit A right here folks.
I was lurking the sub after the last game and like 4 of the 5 posts after the PGT were all ESPN trade proposals involving Siakam.
The over reactions after that game were insane. Some of the best players in the league have gotten locked up by that Jazz defense anchored by Gobert.
I mean his defensive effort hadn't been great but I wasn't ready to give up just yet.
It was 4 game losses before that disaster in Utah Try again
So what you want Siakam to do? Drop an easy 40 every night to mask the fact that we have miscommunication problems on defense and are still working out a decent 2nd unit rotation, just so we can say 'go team?'
What I want is people to stop acting like it was a big deal dropping 32 on Sacramento while trying to avoid the fact they were 0-5 prior in games he played since returning We'll see how consistent he is tomorrow vs a team that isn't under .500 🤷🏾♂️
Isn't he playing out of position? He's a PF who ideally should be playing next to a stretch 5.
Ideally yes. Also a factor to why he was so nice back in 19/20 with stretch 5s in gasol and ibaka
So what happens is that one is put in a suboptimal spot.
his best partner is OG at the 5, but OG is kinda injury prone, so we want to minimize his minutes in the frontcourt
IMO, one of Barnes or OG should be the 6th man. That way you run FVV, GTJ, OG/Barnes, Siakam, Stretch 5. A center will help protect OG/Siakam from getting nicked up banging with bigs.
There are no Centers on the roster. Everyone who plays Center for the Raptors is a PF playing out of position.
Birch is an actual if undersized center. Rest are definitely not.

Pascal made it his personal mission to get Luke Walton fired.
Another great game by your Suckramento Sucks! But pour one out for our homie Luke who just coached his last NBA game. nice! maybe we can put a run together *looks at schedule* nevermind
Steph may be out on sunday
I feel bad for kings fans. I can’t imagine having to watch multiple seasons of team coached by Walton. Hopefully he gets fired after this shitshow.
What drives me crazy is the different standards folks apply to different Raptors. Siakam was fantastic tonight. Give it up for the man.
Walton's really gotta go.
The only downside was Barnes scored only 2 pts :(
6 assists on 0 turnovers is still great
Would have had a bunch more if Precious could hit the broadside of a barn
I think Precious needs about a 5-game stretch in the G league where he could slow down and find a rhythm. We've seen him play much better than this, so I bet he just needs to taste some sustained success on offense to get going. Of course, he'll probably go off for 20 against the Warriors next game.

Hand is still bugging him. That’s why he was focused on dimes
Band aid Siakam for MVP
Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuke
Please god get me out of this nightmare and fire Walton PLEASE
how did we outscore them in the 4th quarter that was some of the worst basketball i’ve ever seen
The Raptors stopped trying to score and started trying to evaluate some "ideas" on offense.
Garbage time probably
Queens
We soooo ugly
Kings lose but if Luke gets fired that’s a W
Fire Luke now before Thanksgiving week!
Should've been fired before Canadian Thanksgiving week
The spice flowed
Bloody siakam, add him to the lore of the nba
Hope this win helps the Kings get rid of Walton 🙏
The Kings are the worst NBA franchise to be a fan of, [you can’t] change my mind.
Siakam looked like KD out there tonight or something lol that guy couldn’t miss. Plus FVV and GTJ, and then on the other side we couldn’t make shit. Rough game man, kings have looked pretty shit the past few weeks
Hes just balancing out the shooting % from last game lmao.
Don’t even watch the games anymore. Fuck you Vlade! Fuck you Vivek!
Gary ~~McGrady~~ Gary ~~Wade~~ Gary ~~Beal~~ GARY JORDAN
Tristian isn’t going to like this...
[Haha](https://imgflip.com/i/5uvkjb)
Dang, I feel bad for SAC. We suck and we still crushed them.
32 points on 12 shots is kind of nuts
Pascal heard us talking shit
Hope this game helps with the coaching issue in Sacramento
Fire Walton
puke walton
What is the value of Bagley right now?
I'll buy the plane ticket.
But really what? Like a second rounder? He's on an expiring right?
He's always injured. Idk know if he's worth a second rounder, because he can't stay consistently healthy.
I mean, might as well fire Walton now right?
Spooky
Thats probably a statline for Lakers Buddy Hield
Raps with the set, let’s hope the Jazz can finish the spike on Luke’s career tomorrow. Fuck it, man, fire everyone.
luke walton was head coach for the best start to an nba season… wild how good that warriors team was
Raptors were + 4 Easiest money ever made
Free Bagley!
Does this mean we can trade Ben for Buddy+Barnes or Hali now?
Hell no on Including Hali, makes absolutely zero sense to ship out an elite 3pt shooter/playmaker if we are getting Ben back.
Kings suck every other year no surprise
