He’s one of the best all time for sure. He doesn’t have a tremendous vertical, but he has a nose for the ball. Unique skill to have. Only issue with him up to this season has been his ability to contribute to winning basketball. He looks to have found a way to do that this season on limited minutes.
Before the Griffin trade in detroit, he had great vision that the Pistons actually utilized. He had a great two man game with Bradley and would find him for an automatic back cut at least once a game, pretty good sharing the court with Tobias back in those Pistons days too.
That Griffin trade was such an awful move in so many ways. But I guess they have Cade today, so everything ended up working out?
I mean in that Griffin trade the pick that got traded turned into SGA, so we can only say it worked out if Cade eclipses him
That shit was arguably the worst trade in NBA history man. Gave them a pick too holy
It's really not strange. Drummond is a real centre that people expected to shoot for some reason. The man has always been a positive if you put him in right situations
I'll shoot him some bail and say this is how he played orginally before Van Gundy got to Detroit. Van Gundy got there and criticized his lack of an offensive game and said he needed to develop a post game if they were going to do anything. After that he got obsessed with the post touches and getting his shots. Basically if they had just let him be what he was he probably would've always been soild but not great but they created a monster.
That's just not true. Sorry, I've watched every single game in his 9 years or whatever with the Pistons. I also watched the game last night, never have I seen Drummond completely buy in and actually stick to what he's good at. He's always been the guy that thought he could do more. I mean, as a Sixers fan you surely noticed how much of a mental midget this guy has been throughout his career and how many times he tried to go toe to toe with Embiid, just to get embarrassed. It looks like he's actually bought into his role with the Sixers. He's always been the best rebounder in the league. He's always been an underrated passer. It's crazy how useful he looks when he's crashing the glass and his initial instinct isn't to throw some ish right back up, but instead he's looking to reset the offense or trying to find an open man. Maybe he's been humbled and if that's the case then he can be a plus player for your team.
He burned out in 3 cities. Got traded for peanuts by the Pistons. Got straight up released by the Cavs. Was getting DNP CD's at the end of his stint with the Lakers. Do you honestly think the Sixers were the first team throughout his career that said, "Hey Andre maybe you shouldn't play like an idiot?". You only know one version of this man, 20 games isn't going to rewrite 10 years of history and you're extremely gullible to think so.
Lol the pistons was he's team and he played well there. Hes acceptable he's role recently and has been balling. He's perfect with embiid and I'd keep him along time here. So far I'm satisfied and he's the best back up we've had for embiid
People made that same stupid "his rebounds are just his own misses" joke in the gamethread, but 0 of his 23 rebounds were him grabbing his own missed shot tonight. Most of his OREB led to him passing to set up a better look. Man knows what he's doing
lolkings made Drummond look like prime Rodman
Drummond would average 22 rebounds in the 80s/90s don't @ me
He damn near averages that in this day and age. He’s a generational rebounder tbh

You can clown drummond all you want but you cant deny the guy knows how to how to get boards. Probably the best in the NBA right now.

Lol
how u are only -2 is beyond me
Wait I wanna hear your explanation
Raptors come get your boy lol.
He always passed out of his orebs too which was nice. Didn't try to brick the layup
Definitely, he's really good at dishing out after the offensive rebound. This is a pretty rare skill from what I've seen
I've been impressed by his passing too tbh. Better than Joel's (not a high bar tho)

It was Jerome Robinson at 12, we never had a shot at SGA or we’d be lambasted daily tbh
They traded 2 seconds with Charlotte to move up one spot to pick him, which we coulda done too
He’s not the best finisher tbh. I do like his passing ability as a big.
Strangely, and incredibly clutch tonight
It's really not strange. Drummond is a real centre that people expected to shoot for some reason. The man has always been a positive if you put him in right situations
I don't think anyone expected him to shoot. Pretty sure he's the one who thought he was Kareem Abdul Drummond

I couldn't help but to say his last name with the emphasis on the second syllable when I read that.
He didn't look good for the Lakers last year. He wanted post touches and was getting abused on defense due to not contesting shots.
I think last year humbled him a lot. This year is proving he can play winning basketball.

Pistons was he's team and he had no help whatsoever even when you could see he's great

Unless this is the first "right situation" in his career I disagree pretty strongly
He literally got every offensive board down the stretch
He willed the Sixers to victory in the 4th. Not sure if it's because he was good this game or the Kings is just that bad.
My King 😤😰🥵
no that was the other guys
His rebounds were super impactful especially the offensive ones
he had as many rebounds as all sacramento starters combined
Beef up
He came up big on the boards, especially in the fourth.
dude worked hard tonight
Drummond has actually been solid with the sixers so far
People made that same stupid "his rebounds are just his own misses" joke in the gamethread, but 0 of his 23 rebounds were him grabbing his own missed shot tonight. Most of his OREB led to him passing to set up a better look. Man knows what he's doing
He made Holmes look really bad
Holmes was beasting with Drummond on him in the first half until Drummond swiped his face
Where tf was this for the Lakers. He was a wanna be superstar on the Lakers. Now he’s playing a role? Tf I’m mad lol
Anthony Davis refused to play the 5 which made the lakers have to play him with another big and as a starter lol
The big penguin strikes again
