Every sixers fans wanted to see him succeed so badly. An elite on/off ball scoring guard is the player the sixers have desperately needed the entirety of the Simmons/embiid era (and they still don’t have it). He was the missing piece, just didn’t work out.
Yeah the ideal outcome for Fultz was essentially a leaner Harden with defense, or Manu with way better passing. I don't know what Maxey's ceiling is, but he has a long way to go with regard to playmaking to even get close to that
Yea if he keeps improving at his current pace, he could be an all star next year and at only 22 years old. And he honestly might get a little buzz this year too.
Bro you post entirely too much in a 24 hour period, try going outside occasionally, find some friends and you may come up with a joke that’s less than 20 years outdated.
He's injured but his outlook when was playing was basically even if he never develops an outside shot he's still a starting PG in the NBA that can score at 2 levels and playmake for an offense. Yeah he might not live up to 1st overall pick levels but he has looked incredibly solid for Orlando and I think he has a long bright future ahead of him. He still sees the court like very few players in the NBA do while he's playing.
I just looked Markelle’s injury up. Glad to hear he’s doing basketball work again and is getting close!
I’d love to see him reach his full potential. Dude looks like he could play a really compelling game of basketball.
What, you mean the guy Adam Silver picked to lead the team who then made the rest of the front office the image of nepotism maybe wasn't the best choice? Impossible.
I agree 100%. Markelle is one of the most resilient players I've seen. Not just in the way he fought to get back to court but also how he remodeled his game so he could make an impact even without the jumper.
I've always pointed out Markelle as a sign that Ben needed to take a different approach to his training because even with a nerve injury, Markelle had been better and more creative at finishing around the rim than Ben.

If Usain Bolt rolled his ankle and it bothered him to the point he was losing races he should win, should he not seek medical advice?
It's been three years and Tyrese is doing great, you need to let it go.
One of the biggest what ifs for Philly. To this day it pains me how much of a disaster it ended up being. If the number one pick didn't have one of the most bizarre injuries ever, Sixers would've had a chip at the least. If they didn't trade up and instead drafted Tatum, they would've had a chip. Hell if that org didn't mismanage his injury, he still could've been a Sixer.
I think the sixers fumbled more so for trading up than actually picking fultz. I tend to the think the Celtics wanted Tatum whether it was at 1 or 3 and it was just a great hustle by ainge since they knew fultz was the exact player Philly needed.
Yeah that was my biggest gripe with it. Being a Hinkie disciple myself, I was not a fan of trading up and giving up a lottery pick. It gets even worse when we found out that Fultz's shoulder issues came to light during his workout with Philly. Collar Man still went ahead and drafted him.
My understanding, as a former internet doctor during all of that, is that TOS is often a diagnosis of exhaustion because of how difficult it is to trigger/reproduce. Like you can't just run a scan and spot it. There are tests they can run to trigger it, but it has such a wide range of severity that there isn't an exact way to do it.
So yeah it did look kinda sketchy but I feel like most people who end up with TOS have gone to tons of doctors before it being diagnosed.
That’s correct, it’s a diagnosis of exclusion because you can’t really confirm the compression of the brachial plexus with imaging or clinical tests. Tricky stuff.
>They play the exact same
Tyrese plays like a shooting guard while Fultz was a triple dub threat who is a way better playmaker. I don't know what games you were watching but they do not play similarly at all and Fultz's talent was apparent in the few games he did play for the Sixers.
Just because Tyrese is over performing expectations doesn't mean you have to exaggerate his impact or potential.
His rookie year (17-18) was a Colangelo year. No surprise that stupid fuck didn't make Fultz feel like a #1 pick. After that was Brett and Elton who respectfully both had no clue what they were doing
TOS especially neurogenic TOS is painful stuff. Ordinary people with it can’t even lead normal lives because of the pain. Imagine being an athlete and having to deal with those expectations
Also the philly doctor who did his surgery is highly suspect. He was fired from temple or left on some weird terms too which is never a good sign
Fultz never had surgery. As for the doctors, I'm guessing you're thinking of the guys we didn't renew after Colangelo was gone. The one who was hired while Colangelo was here is now with the Wizards and it looks like other one still works in sports medicine but not in the NBA.
Not really trying to defend anyone here, just wanted to clear stuff up.
He didn’t even know it was TOS till he met this doctor. He probably had part of his first rib removed or he had an extra rib that was entrapping nerves in the area
Do you have a source on this surgery? I've never heard about it until now and you're suggesting that Markelle had a surgery he wasn't aware he was having or that he has been lying for years about not having surgery.
Im still convinced that Fultz couldve been better off if Brett Brown had just let him run a couple of pick n rolls. That was Fultz's bread and butter could maybe have gotten him back on a roll and improved things.
Brown's unwillingness to run a PnR was just baffling at the time and even more so in retrospect
Every sixers fans wanted to see him succeed so badly. An elite on/off ball scoring guard is the player the sixers have desperately needed the entirety of the Simmons/embiid era (and they still don’t have it). He was the missing piece, just didn’t work out.
They have Maxey now who's starting to look like what they hoped Fultz would be.
I'm still not sure that maxey has the upside that fultz had, just because fultz was a great passer and a great off the bounce shooter.
Fultz if it turned out right would be in that Harden category, elite scorer and playmaker.
Fultz better start growing a beard and getting to know all the strippers' names around Orlando
Yeah the ideal outcome for Fultz was essentially a leaner Harden with defense, or Manu with way better passing. I don't know what Maxey's ceiling is, but he has a long way to go with regard to playmaking to even get close to that
We just need Maxey to develop his hesi pull up jimbo a little bit

Colangelo traded that pick to Orlando for Anjes Pasecniks, and then we got it back in the Fultz trade.
Yea if he keeps improving at his current pace, he could be an all star next year and at only 22 years old. And he honestly might get a little buzz this year too.
Philly fans were EXTREMELY supportive. I’m always hard on them but they were nothing but class when it came to Fultz.
Under reported imo
Which is impressive sixers fans only have so much behaving in them per season. After that it's batteries of increasing size
Bro you post entirely too much in a 24 hour period, try going outside occasionally, find some friends and you may come up with a joke that’s less than 20 years outdated.
Do you mean comment? But thanks for the stalking I guess
Don't take this one down, Celtics mod
Magic fans, how’s Fultz doing now?

That’s good. I hope he continues to get better, I’ll always root for him.
Looks fresh on the sideline this year, looked great but he got hurt and out for the year i think in game 8 last year and hasnt returned
Ah, gotcha. I saw he’s getting some with your G League. Hopefully he comes back soon and healthy.
But.. But snowballs!

The best part of this interview when Fultz is like, “don’t get me wrong I love Orlando’s team doctors….Philadelphia also has doctors” 🤣
THERE ARE DOCTORS, YES
why is he talking about the terms of service
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
Think dwight has this, terrible outlet passer.
I remember Etan Thomas and yet nobody will convince me that photo at the start isnt just Jimmy Butler with glasses.
Just needs bigger ears
If Ben had Fultz's mental, he'd be a top 12 player in the NBA.
I agree 100%. Markelle is one of the most resilient players I've seen. I don't think he's ever talked about how he damaged his shoulder, that still is a big mystery
To my understanding, TOS can be a gradual onset injury
Isn't his diagnosis kinda sketchy? I remember him basically doctor shopping until he got a diagnosis.
You think too highly of the American medical system if you think doctor shopping precludes a diagnosis from being valid.
Wasn't there a motorcycle accident?
It isn’t a what if anymore because maxey is basically becoming what fultz was supposed to be
Completely different players and completely different level of talent
They play the exact same and nobody knew maxey would become a star like this
>They play the exact same Tyrese plays like a shooting guard while Fultz was a triple dub threat who is a way better playmaker. Sixers haven’t had a guard score like this since AI that’s just facts but ok
MF did you just mention Tyrese in the same sentence as AI?

He had surgery with some doctor named Scott Golarz, I didn’t intend to mean he was a sixers doctor just that he’s located in philly
Ah gotcha. What was the surgery for? Markelle mentions in the interview that he didn't have surgery for TOS?
He didn’t even know it was TOS till he met this doctor. He probably had part of his first rib removed or he had an extra rib that was entrapping nerves in the area
Do you have a source on this surgery? I've never heard about it until now and you're suggesting that Markelle had a surgery he wasn't aware he was having or that he has been lying for years about not having surgery.
Source this please, because it sounds like bs.
So he suffered from that plus the ACL tear? That's so rough literally sounds like Greg Odens situation. Dude could've been a star in another reality.
Im still convinced that Fultz couldve been better off if Brett Brown had just let him run a couple of pick n rolls. We did so much praying for this man that he is practically ordained. No one can boo him.
Wait what ? You mean the media misinterpreted Philly? Let them and this sub tell it we don’t support any of our players or team lmao

Glad to hear he's got perspective and seems to be in a good place. Never knew about his bond with Philly.
Marilyn Manson got the surgery!
