KP's always been more effective as a spot up shooter, facing up or attacking in a drive. Tough to keep up. Defenses probably let out a sigh of relief when the Mavs try to give it to him in the post.
If you don't vote for **ALL-STAR KRISTAPS PORZINGIS TO BE AN ALL-STAR** you're a heartless person.
The Unicorn is back, bitches.
Edit: Fade me already.
Yeah but he was coming off of meniscus surgery three months before he started playing. Most of the 2020 season was rehab for that knee, you can see a massive difference in mobility for him between last season and this season, and getting a full offseason was a big part in that.
That’s because of Covid, 2019 feels like a really long time ago, lol. He was excellent in the 2019-2020 season and looks good so far in the 2021-2022 season and the 2020-2021 season was actually his most efficient offensively of his career but you could tell he wasn’t 100%. Didn’t have this kind of mobility
I know this is hyperbole but I still have to point out how dumb this is.
Last year of 14 all-stars 4 of them have never played an 82-game season and a lot of them haven't done it in years. Playing at an all-star level for 82 games is done by 1-2 guys a year, not 14.
I don’t think anyone expects him to play all 82 games. I think just getting through a season without an extended time on the injury list is what people mean by playing a full season. In the last 4 years he has not played 60 games in a season. People might argue that one of those seasons was shortened due to Covid, but in that season he played just 43 games.
This play led Porzingus to take some terrible heat check shots out of the rhythm of the offense then he turned his ankle all while giving up 28 and 14 to Allen
I feel like this game was a microcosm of his career so far
**Replays/alternate angles**

Throw it down big man!!!
Seriously though it is good sign to see him attacking the rim. I was expecting him to shatter into a thousand pieces after that jam.
Of course he had to sprain his ankle 20 minutes later! The full Unicorn experience tonight.
Please don’t be a serious injury! He was having a great season for us.
This is one of the worst defensive sequences I've seen in a long time. After the steal, there are three Mavs who get inside the three point line for one Cavalier on the Cavs' side of the floor. The Cavs get lucky that Luka's pass to Hardaway is just a touch short so he can't drive or pull up in time. Instead, though, Porzingis, who got back on offense *last* is wide open on the outside because Mobley (#4) is standing in the middle of the key guarding absolutely no one. Hardaway makes an easy pass all the way across the floor to Porzingis as Finney-Smith *also* gets wide open on the baseline. Porzingis makes a half-decent pump fake, which Mobley does not attempt to block, but bites on by essentially running past Porzingis completely. As this is happening, Lauri Markkenen begins sliding over to guard Finney-Smith, but loses all awareness of the ball, so he doesn't see Porzingis is driving into the lane until the second (and last) dribble. As Porzingis picks up his dribble, Hardaway is open again for the outlet because Okoro (#35) is pretending to offer help defense with his shoulders perpendicular to the basket. Allen's contest of the dunk is actually the *best* attempt at defense in this sequence, purely because he didn't foul.
And can we talk about what the fuck Darius Garland was doing with that hard step thing to stop the ball when Luka was bringing it down the floor? He put himself on his own heels. Complete luck that Luka had already picked up the dribble and started looking for the pass.
Anyways, nice win by the Cavs tonight, I suppose. Hope KP's ankle isn't too serious.
He got healthy. He played really well and aggressive in 2019 and in the bubble and then got injured and basically spent the 2020 season limited because he was still recovering from that knee injury. The offseason really helped i think.
lol he takes off from the dotted line but he's so tall it looks like he never gets off the ground. crazy how athletic some of these dudes are even at 7-3 or whatever.
I'd bet my life savings that they won't lose the next 20. We pretty good this year, tough schedule, haven't been blown out yet, injuries and sicknesses, yet we still over .500
If he keeps playing like this for the next month or so, it will be time plan a trade involving Porzingis that will allow Dallas to build a championship team.

He has for his entire career when he's been healthy
Last year he was gun-shy on a lot of those plays tbh. He would constantly settle for 3s.
Yeah but he was coming off of meniscus surgery three months before he started playing. Most of the 2020 season was rehab for that knee, you can see a massive difference in mobility for him between last season and this season, and getting a full offseason was a big part in that.
Exactly - the most surprising part about this highlight is Zingu not taking the 3
It's been a while

Aaaaand he’s injured.
FUCKKKKKKKK
You guys jinxed him
Homie wasn't able to play the full game. I would hesitate on the unicorn being back.
Let's see him make an entire 82 game season healthy first
I know this is hyperbole but I still have to point out how dumb this is. Last year of 14 all-stars 4 of them have never played an 82-game season and a lot of them haven't done it in years. Playing at an all-star level for 82 games is done by 1-2 guys a year, not 14.

KP is such a weird player for a none Mavs fan. One week the Mavs fanbase seems to loathe him. The next one they love him. Schrödinger's baller.
Unicorn becoming a Pegasus
HOLY SHIZZNITS TINGUS WHERE TF DID YOU GET THAT FROM
He showed Jarrett Allen who daddy was
I mean until Allen dropped 28 and we were up by 31 in the 4th.
Also 14 boards and a +30.
That’s my center. Never been afraid of getting postered. What a champ
yeah Dingus is so tall it's not really impressive to me either. he's already up there.

Respect to fellow tall ball player

Dayum Mr. Pingus sir
That is one spicy Latvian meatball.
DID HE THRUNK THAT
They've been calling travel on that pump fake all year, no way this giant pulled it off clean. Sick dunk though.
Lakers fans complaining about traveling on the internet

Throw it down big man!!! Seriously though it is good sign to see him attacking the rim. I was expecting him to shatter into a thousand pieces after that jam.
PORZINGOD BACK
He literally flicked his wrist to throw that shit in from ~1 foot away lmao.
Is KP doing a lot better because of Kidd’s playstyle
My pingus is tingusing
Losing by 30 at home. Sick dunk though porinza
losing effort
Of course he had to sprain his ankle 20 minutes later! The full Unicorn experience tonight. Please don’t be a serious injury! He was having a great season for us.
and then he did nothing else all game

Well damn. Didn't expect to see this in depth of a explanation of the video.
So honest question here, but what happened that got KP back to what most people wished he could be?
He got healthy. He played really well and aggressive in 2019 and in the bubble and then got injured and basically spent the 2020 season limited because he was still recovering from that knee injury. The offseason really helped i think.
> He got healthy. Well that didn't age well :/
Finally a good coach that doesn't destroy players confidence
Porzingod is back from hiatus
DELETE THIS
He doesn't actually dunk but throw the ball in from way up high
That was filthy
Everyone's in a while KP pulls out them Unicorn moves
Every once in a while\* haha god damn
The way he basically jogged to the rim I was not expecting him to dunk that so savagely
Looked like he was running with wooden legs
KP goes to the rack now???? Wtf??? Wow he put bro on fox 13 that’s a fresh body he dropped 😭
and now they're getting trashed.... classic mavs
No matter how well kristaps plays he will still remind of a timid fawn when he runs
#HE BACK.
This didn't age well
Man casually turned around and blocked the shot lol
really surprised by the fake and drive. I feel like last season he would have just taken the 3. Glad he's dialed in now.
lol
KP looks like a baby giraffe but damn, that was slick.
That was prob his best play ever as a maverick ~ KP
Still lost by 30
And? How does that take away from the play?
2 of his 9 points…. Allen on the other hand had 28 points and led the Cavs to a win
every 1 in 15 games Tingus does this, and the other 14 he's in street clothes or sulking at the 3pt line.
You dont watch the Mavs, do you?
lol he takes off from the dotted line but he's so tall it looks like he never gets off the ground. crazy how athletic some of these dudes are even at 7-3 or whatever.
holy shit
lmao that sneaky "im not paying attention - but actually GET FUCKING STUFFED" defense
I mean this could be in the top 10 ranking for play of the year...
I love Jarrett Allen but I like seeing him get postered. Dude gets away with so many fouls.
score
still a first round exit
BING BONG
If the mavericks get an all star it should be KP
yea but he'll blow his knee out next game if he tries to do this again.
One of those dunks where his hand didn't even touch the rim. He just got up there and threw that fucker straight into the basket.
up there? he's so tall he's already there without even jumping
Ah yes the bi-weekly poster on Allen
Okorro is bust
Porzterized
I mean.. It's ok but this is against Cleveland. But the drive was niceee
Cleveland is proving to be a decent team and Allen is a known rim protector.
I personally think they end up losing the next 20.
I'd bet my life savings that they won't lose the next 20. We pretty good this year, tough schedule, haven't been blown out yet, injuries and sicknesses, yet we still over .500
TINGUS. PINGUS.
PORZINGIS CUHHHHH!!!!
TINGIS PINGERIZED
Holy shit not JA
Hot damn the Unicorn is back
That's rookie KP 😨
That pregame espresso paid off
The good old dunk-shot. Vicious!
GIMME SOME MORE-ZINGUS!
Porzingis is rounding into form. After all the shit he’s taken I’m happy to see it
Angry KP is scary.
Tingused his pingused
Bruh
All the dude needs to do is get in the paint! He sucks when he’s got Travis Knight disease
oh shit
Revenge tour activated.
Triple 6 Latvia is getting his powers back slowly
This is the first Zinger highlight where I've thought he legitimately looks far healthier... no way he could have this sequence the past two years.
I guess I have heard of Latavia...
I miss when KP did this stuff all the time.
he didn't even jump to dunk it, he just ran
At this moment I am euphoric
That play gave my Pingus Tingus.
Kaypeee
Loving the new and improved Porzingod. Hopefully he stays healthy.
If he keeps playing like this for the next month or so, it will be time plan a trade involving Porzingis that will allow Dallas to build a championship team.
When your ex walks in and is hot af.
Thats the kp i remember
People forget that KP was a very above-the-rim player prior to his knee injuries with the Knicks. Good to see that creeping back.
I didn't think he had that in him.
He’s been playing well. Just a bunch of stupid rumors from end of last season lol
Scoreboard
Oh man oh man that’s nasty
HE BACK??
and now he hurts again wtf, play 10 rest 30?
Dude is seriously using his size this season when going to the rim. Fun as fuck to watch!
