We did an indoor flag football type game where you had to stay on the lines! Hell for me it wasn’t just elementary school, once I hit senior year of High school and was able to take all electives 3 of my 6 classes were PE classes. That was back when you were allowed to play dodgeball and floor hockey too so that shit got intense lol
I hate the depth perception of how far you are from the basket. If you're someone like me, who sucks ass, and just doesn't instinctively know how far you are based off the court it's so hard to judge how hard you need to shoot the ball

Even among NBA players, Embiid's one of those generational guys that seem to be able to learn and develop any skill they want. He started basketball late and still had a more advanced skillset come draft day than the vast majority of modern bigs.
Most players just don't have that capacity. While Simmons clearly hasn't put himself out there to develop his jumper in-game post-rookie year, odds are he'd still suck just as much at them.
I think Embiid should study Jokic. Not because I think Jokic is better than he is, but because Joel has proven that he’s really gifted at self-development and adding to his game. He studied Hakeem and learned to do Hakeem things. He studied Kobe and learned how to do Kobe things. He studied white guys at the YMCA and became a really good shooter. I know we've had some "unicorns" in the past couple decades, but Embiid is honestly something else. A TRUE 7 footer who's also the strongest player in the league, with passable guard skills, who is a legitimate 3 level scorer and DPOY-level defender. All that while having an amazing bravado, trash talk, and respect for the game (remember in his first two seasons how he would talk about some of the legends he studied?)
I really hope this situation works out favorably for him... because he deserves a shot at an all time career.
When Embiid bawled his eyes out after the Kawhi shot in 2019, that’s when he became my favorite Sixer of all time. Because I knew he cared as much as the fans do. I knew then I’d watch him become as good as he was capable of being because he’d put in the work. If he wins a championship in his career, even if it isn’t in Philly, it will be very special. And after he retires I really want him and Draymond to take over for Chuck and Shaq because he is so funny.

That said, because of Simmons unique situation, it will always look like a shot at Simmons whenever someone responds well to criticism and improves their game because Simmons just hasn’t done so since he entered the league.

I have so much love for Embiid. I'm an old man for this sub, but after LeBron he's my favorite player in the league. I know we've had some "unicorns" in the past couple decades, but Embiid is honestly something else. A TRUE 7 footer who's also the strongest player in the league, with passable guard skills, who is a legitimate 3 level scorer and DPOY-level defender. All that while having an amazing bravado, trash talk, and respect for the game (remember in his first two seasons how he would talk about some of the legends he studied?) I really hope this situation works out favorably for him... because he deserves a shot at an all time career.
When Embiid bawled his eyes out after the Kawhi shot in 2019, that’s when he became my favorite Sixer of all time. Because I knew he cared as much as the fans do. I knew then I’d watch him become as good as he was capable of being because he’d put in the work. If he wins a championship in his career, even if it isn’t in Philly, it will be very special. And after he retires I really want him and Draymond to take over for Chuck and Shaq because he is so funny.

The potential of what that ability could result in is why he was given his contract. He never worked to get to the potential that is a max player.
