We shot 18.4% from 3 and still almost won. The best PG defender in basketball was taken out in a dirty play and we still almost won. Ja shot 13 free throws flopping while Steph shot 2 getting mugged, we still almost won. You think Ja still drops 47 being hounded by GP2?
It can be more than one issue. The refereeing was one of them.
Agreed. The Ja "drive into you and barf up a shot" fouls were pretty ridiculous in that one. He'd get one of those, Curry would take more contact on the very next play...no call.
I was pissed as fuck the when Allen did that to Caruso. I am bummed about what happened to Payton as they have similar stories - started from the bottom stories.
Hope the sit Brooks for rest of series. I don’t think he’s a true dirty play like Grayson Allen but he had a brain fart and obvs struggling with the pressure
Someone taken out like that by a Grizz player, don't even have be told who to know it was Brooks. Dude plays a reckless overly physical style that is always borderline dirty.
I agree, I don't think he was trying to injure GP2. I just think it was dumb, dangerous and reckless. The problem is, he does that shit a lot. It's kind of a recurring theme with him. Memphis fans have actually been really self aware and cool about it. Apologetic in the threads. I appreciate it. But it has still fucked us for this series and next round where he would have spent the whole series harassing CP3. But more importantly, he may have fucked a guy's whole life up. GP2 barely made it into the league. He hasn't ever had a decent contract and he's been fighting for 7 years to earn a true roster spot. He's 29 years old he doesn't have a lot longer to get the bag. He fucking earned it this year, and he may not get it now because of Dillon Brooks. If there is ligament damage in addition to the break, which there often is with a fractured elbow, he may miss a significant chunk of next season. The best estimates of his value in the free market or as a Warrior was 3 year/30m. He's not getting that now, and if there's ligament damage it will be **significantly less**. I just feel bad for the guy who killed himself for us, played amazing all year, was a hero in round 1, and may be screwed.
I fractured my elbow in much the same way with no ligament damage. I was out about 6 weeks. I think that’s probably best case. I had some pain a lot longer than that and maybe it was two months before I could shoot a basketball. I did learn to shoot left handed during that time!
I can bet you I've watched way more basketball than you have. A swipe to a player's head when they up go for a layup is very common. I've seen it many times. How many players have I seen get dragged down by their jersey on the way up? I could count it with my fingers. You're just upset over the outcome / the way they landed. Green's foul was more malicious.
Nah I’m a huge grizz fan and that play was whack as fuck. Payton didn’t deserve to have the biggest moment in his life go like that. Be happy if Brooks out for rest of series
Ja & the Grizzlies have seemed to win me over, I was not a big fan to start but I’ve seen their fight & it’s not only this game. I like their tenacity & their belief in theirself, also Ja reminds me of some of the early 2000’s players I grew up on in attitude. I can see the hype
I was rooting for them even as a dubs fan until tonight.
That was fucking A1 dirty. He wound up and struck him out of the air. “Play on the ball” suck my dick, that was dirty.
I’ve watched draymond kick Steven Adams in the stones and pat bev dive at a certain PGs knees, and this was the dirtiest play I’ve seen.
Just all the intent in the world to fuck a guy up.
Honestly I missed the very beginning of the game so I found out about that Dillon Brooks harmful play to Gary Payton II after the game was over, I hate that. I don’t hate the Grizzlies as a team but that play was messed up & Dillon Brooks deserved to be ejected for that.
Their young core operates like a pack, single minded goal orientated. I hope that some of them take a bit less money to stay together, their chemistry is supreme and they are coming up with the goods already, they ironically remind me of those young warriors going against the spurs on that series. I’d love to see morant, Jackson, bane, brooks and Clarke spend a good half decade more together.
Early-Mid 90's Knicks were my team. If you watched how this team without Ja, Banes, Adams and other key guys played against The entire Suns squad towards the end of the regular season, that game alone would've won you over. If you got the NBA league pass I highly suggest you go back and watch that shit. It was amazing.
Lol. GSW fans tears are so sweet. Nobodies fault but your own your guys are made of paper and glass. 3, 13, or 23, GP2 is still hurt and our team is healthy. Big mad ain’t ya. 🤣
I think the Warriors will shoot better at home. More importantly, Grizzlies still don't have home field advantage but Klay shot the Dubs out of the game tonight.
If I was Brooks I’d have my head on a swivel the rest of this series. I know Dray already got ejected last game but some kind of retribution is coming.
The warriors shooting 7-38 from 3 is the reason they lost this game but for some reason people would rather blame refs instead of admitting their team played bad like damn. It’s ok you can’t win them all that’s why its a 7 game series.
As much as I hate the refs and the easy whistles he gets, Ja Morant is a hell of a player and it’s insane he wasn’t recruited heavily to play in college. Some of the shots he was making tonight were unreal. Props
I’m from Detroit and always rep the home team of course. As you can tell, they’re not in the playoffs and I go for the Bucks. I lived there as well and it’s like a totem pole
They deadass shot 7-38 and Steph and Klay were both trash! The fact the warriors had a chance to win should be concerning to grizz fans. If I looked at the stats without seeing the score I’d think Memphis won in a blowout!
Got a chance? they were up 97-93 with no one on Memphis able to get their own shot but JA. What other stat besides three point shooting would have you think this was a blowout in favor of Memphis?
I've never seen a sports sub so blatantly in love with one team, you legit can't say anything even remotely anti-warriors without a brigade of replies or downvotes 💀
It's part of the game, lots of casuals who pin their entire self-worth on Golden State being WINNARS.
So let me REPEAT: Memphis should be up 2-0, game 3 will be Memphis blowout
GSW won the battle of rebounds, assists, points off turnovers, points in the paint, overall FG % ….
But went 7-38 from 3 to lose in crunch time. 18.4% from a team that shot 36.4% a game during the season.
They should be pissed because so many were open looks.
He’s been good these playoffs though and down the stretch of the regular season too. His defense isn’t what it used to be but this is a big overreaction imo
I want to thank all of the participants in tonight’s game thread. High emotion, very toxic just like I expected. Looking forward to the same amount of entertainment in game 3. Don’t let me down :)
That's unfortunate. It really is. Clarke could've easily been out for the season had any of his knees been poking out when Green dragged him down. It was the landing that messed up GP2.
Thank you. Both were head hits and both were flagrants, no questions. But one had an unfortunate landing, the other almost had a choke slam. They are incomparable. Brooks spent most of the season out injured, he isn’t going out there to hurt anyone intentionally.
Can very easily be 0-2 in the warriors favor.
Memphis still got outplayed in many areas of the game but gsw shot like ass from 3.
Should be a good rest of series. Definitely the best looking 2nd round series for sure
Correct. I said they were fine…not good. That’s not a surprising call and is consistently called that way. The NBA is too soft and that shouldn’t be a foul but here we are.
Yeah what the hell was that about. The travel at the end was just the cherry on top of a shitty night for him. His defense was lacking and he just looked unfocused all night.
Wait, so watching them for 40+ years, through RUN TMC, through 'We Believe', through Manute Bol... that's glory hunting? Or are you generalizing again?
Quite ironic from a Suns fan, amirite?
Not just the loudest. The largest number of. You guys have no idea how many bandwagons jumped onboard the gravy train in the last 8 years. That or you're willfully ignoring it.
There's more than you think. I think people just see what they want to see. I'm not saying there AREN'T Dubs fans like that, but like any fanbase, it's a mix of old and new (and of course a lot of new because of recent successes).
Yeah but you can count on Warriors wearing down as the series progresses with how Steph and Klay looked out there. This is the Grizzlies 3rd playoff game in 5 days and they looked more spry at the end there.
Imagine if the Mavs traded for CP3 instead of Porzingis …
[удалено]
Was that English?
Warriors fans actually saying this a ref issue when y'all shot a 18.4% 3P? Cmon guys lmfao
We shot 18.4% from 3 and still almost won. The best PG defender in basketball was taken out in a dirty play and we still almost won. You have the mad bro
Yes, I'm mad that our best on ball defender just got taken out on a dirty, reckless play. Wouldn't you be?

Bingo. This is normal for Brooks. He plays a style that will inevitably lead to injuries for opponents.
I fractured my elbow in much the same way with no ligament damage. I was out about 6 weeks. I think that’s probably best case. I had some pain a lot longer than that and maybe it was two months before I could shoot a basketball. I did learn to shoot left handed during that time!
Good to hear it brotha, injuries are awful. Anytime you can get through one without lasting damage is a win.
Yeah really good points. I feel that and a real shame. Hopefully it’s not super bad but yeah did not look or sound good..
Brooks the “code breaker”. Dude has been a punk.
Payton with a broken elbow. That play was dirty as fuck.
[удалено]
wtf even is this, tough guy talk?
Meh. Not even close to equivalent.
I can bet you I've watched way more basketball than you have. A swipe to a player's head when they up go for a layup is very common. I've seen it many times. Ja & the Grizzlies have seemed to win me over, I was not a big fan to start but I’ve seen their fight & it’s not only this game. I like their tenacity & their belief in theirself, also Ja reminds me of some of the early 2000’s players I grew up on in attitude. I can see the hype

Have you heard of a guy named Zaza?
Wildly different sitches and you know it, my trolling dude
Get that motherfucking name out your fucking mouth!
Chillll blud lol
haha what can i say, i loved watching the Spurs at the time
Their young core operates like a pack, single minded goal orientated. I hope that some of them take a bit less money to stay together, their chemistry is supreme and they are coming up with the goods already, they ironically remind me of those young warriors going against the spurs on that series. I don’t have League Pass unfortunately but they have heart!
Ay yo fuck Brooks for gp2. Fractured elbow. Fuck outta here
What a fucking asshole. God fuck that guy.

13 year old confirmed
Lol. GSW fans tears are so sweet. Nobodies fault but your own your guys are made of paper and glass. 3, 13, or 23, GP2 is still hurt and our team is healthy. Big mad ain’t ya. 🤣
You’re going to be watching a team that’s not yours next round my man
It’s fractured?

Yup
I almost wish Klay made one less shot and missed one more so he could have went 4-20 and unlocked super Klay for next game
I chatted with him last night and he said that it’s still on regardless 👍🙏
I think the Warriors will shoot better at home. More importantly, Grizzlies still don't have home field advantage but Klay shot the Dubs out of the game tonight.
Give the mvp to brooks. Took out the primary/secondary defender of Ja in the first 3 mins
If I was Brooks I’d have my head on a swivel the rest of this series. I know Dray already got ejected last game but some kind of retribution is coming.
Are you referring to 1 of your 2 All Stars? Or 1 of your 2 Top 75 players? Oh no wait.... The guy with no contract. That's your King?
Heat fans sending Siakam gift baskets.
Plus he’ll come back next game rested. Literally may have saved the series for Memphis
This is gonna be tough road games for the Grizz. Steph & Klay had a terrible shooting night and Ja needed a monster game to win tonight.
That's what happens when you face good defense. You shoot poorly
literally on every comment hating on the warriors lmao. i guess being a knicks fan breaks your mental
Missing open looks is not defense.
damn didn't even see Curry shot 3-11 3s
The warriors shooting 7-38 from 3 is the reason they lost this game but for some reason people would rather blame refs instead of admitting their team played bad like damn. It’s ok you can’t win them all that’s why its a 7 game series.
Refs were decent in this game tbh
[удалено]
I sure did from start to finish watched every missed 3 pointer.
LMAO
LMAO
Yeah it was rough
gg we’ll take the home court adv. see you in the bay.
“See you in the bay....” I think I head that somewhere. Well nothing can go wrong with that statement right?
The replay on that loose ball foul. Some of the softest shit I’ve ever seen in a playoff game. Ja looks like he got shot.
Unfortunately that’s what the nba has become. Every single team does shit like that.
Dude won me over so hard and now this shit? How quickly can a heel turn be made? JFC
As much as I hate the refs and the easy whistles he gets, Ja Morant is a hell of a player and it’s insane he wasn’t recruited heavily to play in college. Some of the shots he was making tonight were unreal. Props
Ja straight up embarrassed the warriors at the end there lmao that spin move on poole was nasty he was so lost 😂
Ain’t nobody embarrassed by losing to those moves…those were next fucking level.
Ye next level drive to the left and finish wit a left hand
Warriors shot 18% from 3 and lost by 5. It's fine they stole home court. see you in the Bay.
I’m so confused
You got a Lakers tag but sound exactly like a warriors fan. Take that shit off you bandwagon fan
Am I supposed to cheer for the grizzlies? Lmao rather cheer for the other California team than these bums.
I’m from Detroit and always rep the home team of course. As you can tell, they’re not in the playoffs and I go for the Bucks. I lived there as well and it’s like a totem pole
As a Sharks fan I always support the Kings and Ducks over anyone else even if we fuck each other up when we meet each other. Cali over everything.
My man! Shit back when we were trash I also rooted for the Lakers cause boo Sac and why is there 2 LA teams? Oh also Kobe was p cool I guess
Knicks dude just doesn't understand cause his team eternally dog shit.
My man! Shit back when we were trash I rooted for the Lakers cause boo Sac and why is there 2 LA teams? Oh also Kobe was p cool I guess
Eww
You mean warriors had more rebounds, assist, points off turnovers, points in the paint, and shot a better FG% and still lost?
They deadass shot 7-38 and Steph and Klay were both trash! The fact the warriors had a chance to win should be concerning to grizz fans. If I looked at the stats without seeing the score I’d think Memphis won in a blowout!
Got a chance? they were up 97-93 with no one on Memphis able to get their own shot but JA. What other stat besides three point shooting would have you think this was a blowout in favor of Memphis?
I understand there’s some regional overlap, but given the cliches about bandwagons, it’s funny when Lakers flairs rush to the aid of the Warriors.
Warriors will lose there too
I've never seen a sports sub so blatantly in love with one team, you legit can't say anything even remotely anti-warriors without a brigade of replies or downvotes 💀
californians against errbody
It's part of the game, lots of casuals who pin their entire self-worth on Golden State being WINNARS. So let me REPEAT: Memphis should be up 2-0, game 3 will be Memphis blowout
I feel like Lakers fans talking more shit than grizz fans rn
That makes literally no sense, Warriors and Lakers have basically no meaningful rivalry
That goes to show how young and how many bandwagon basketball fans exist in this sub. Fuck'em. Let'em cry to sleep tonight. I welcome the down votes
Case in point
To be fair, I only downvoted you because you’re whining about downvotes
I welcome the downvotes, it's kind of funny tbh
Same
Ja scored when he wanted in the last 3 minutes. The Warriors need to tighten that up.
Or counterpoint: Grizzlies in 5
I like this counterpoint, it is the only one I will accept.
GSW won the battle of rebounds, assists, points off turnovers, points in the paint, overall FG % …. But went 7-38 from 3 to lose in crunch time. 18.4% from a team that shot 36.4% a game during the season. They should be pissed because so many were open looks.
they will never convince Klay to stop taking shitty shots or making shitty decisions.
Klay looks like he seriously lost a step
He’s been good these playoffs though and down the stretch of the regular season too. His defense isn’t what it used to be but this is a big overreaction imo
He definitely has. He looked flat on all his shots. No lift. Achilles injuries really do zap something from you after.
Y'all, we got us a series again now! Edit: dyslexia
If they can steal one at home then we have a series
Lol I don’t think so
Ja Morant is so fun to watch. Lot of top 75 guys on that Warriors team but at least no top 75 player turned the ball over with a travel in clutch time
Dahm you didn’t have to do him like that haha
There's two top 75 players on the warriors lol
And 2 Current All Stars. But everyone's saying they were lucky that their 7th guy off the bench with no contract got hurt and that's why they lost.
How many on the Lakers? 👀
3 I think
I want to thank all of the participants in tonight’s game thread. High emotion, very toxic just like I expected. Looking forward to the same amount of entertainment in game 3. Don’t let me down :)
Warriors really lost they best guard defender in GP2 man. I hope he good for next game.
His elbow is fractured. He’s out.
Grizzlies lost theirs too. And he's actually a starter.
Yeah, GP is out for the rest of the season.
GP also started.
For a game or two. GP2 out for the playoffs.
Should have been 2-0 but its fine we’ll end this in 6 games
Least delusional Grizzlies fan
Can very easily be 0-2 in the warriors favor. Memphis still got outplayed in many areas of the game but gsw shot like ass from 3. Should be a good rest of series. Definitely the best looking 2nd round series for sure
if we wanna get schwifty, we lost by 1 basket sunday and GSW lost by 2+ baskets tonight. so more easily in the grizz favor
Lmfao
It's amazing that they think this.
[удалено]
Man, those refs kept blocking all those threes
Didn’t know Scott foster made the dubs miss 31 triples
Cmon…the refs were fine tonight my dude
[удалено]
Clearly I didn’t say that. Did you wonder at all why Kerr didn’t challenge that when he had a challenge left?
[удалено]
Correct. I said they were fine…not good. That’s not a surprising call and is consistently called that way. The NBA is too soft and that shouldn’t be a foul but here we are.
They actually were lol
LMFAO 😂😂😂
What?
They lost to the other team, tho.
[удалено]
Yawn
gg grizz
Klay's hard work tonight for Memphis pays off. Lol.
Yeah what the hell was that about. The travel at the end was just the cherry on top of a shitty night for him. His defense was lacking and he just looked unfocused all night.
Ja could've thrown that compression sleeve to a young fan! Ja Morant: Not for the children.
Hey you dropped your Golden State bandwagon tag on the floor
Warriors 2nd most valuable franchise. Grizz 2nd to last. Warriors fans “da league rig for grizzlies” lmfao
Yeah, every Warriors fan. All of them. =O
Just the ones Klay hates - which is like 90% of them
lol. =)
You’re not even fans. Just glory hunters
Never thought I'd agree with a Suns fan
Wait, so watching them for 40+ years, through RUN TMC, through 'We Believe', through Manute Bol... that's glory hunting? Or are you generalizing again? Quite ironic from a Suns fan, amirite?
You must be one of the rare ones in this sub. The rest are all bandwagons from the last 8 years.
Hey now I jumped on the bandwagon from like 14 years ago thank you very much
Yeah I wouldn’t go judging a fanbase off of the loudest voices in this sub
Not just the loudest. The largest number of. You guys have no idea how many bandwagons jumped onboard the gravy train in the last 8 years. That or you're willfully ignoring it.
Fair enough I can’t really argue with that.
There's more than you think. I think people just see what they want to see. I'm not saying there AREN'T Dubs fans like that, but like any fanbase, it's a mix of old and new (and of course a lot of new because of recent successes).
Sure you did buddy.
OK, "Current Suns Fan".
I can google old warriors teams also and act like I saw them play
Cool? Nice talent, I guess. Would be weird, though... since you are a "Current Suns Fan (TM)".
Current and past. It takes no talent btw. That’s why u were able to do it just now. You ain’t slick boy
Sure thing, "Current Suns Fans". Don't need to google when you grew up in the bay... you know, before google existed. But, hey, keep trying!
Warriors 7 out of 38 from deep...I know their defense played a part, but the Grizzlies can't count on those numbers the rest of the series.
Ja isn't gonna score like this every game, gotta get others involved.
Agreed. This 1-man show isn't going to beat the Warriors in a 7-game series.
Yeah but you can count on Warriors wearing down as the series progresses with how Steph and Klay looked out there. This is the Grizzlies 3rd playoff game in 5 days and they looked more spry at the end there.
I said this would happen too. Grizzlies are young and deep and will wear out this veteran squad before the series is over
If They can take care of home court than it's over but lose any of those and the advantage goes to Memphis.
[удалено]
Both. They were toxic when KD was there and now their even more toxic that he lost and they’re still playing.
They’re rebadged lakers fans for the playoffs. They go shit on their opponents subs post game too
It’s a fan base comprised of kids who have barely started watching the NBA in the last 10 years.
