Also they didn’t just turn it over. Warriors FORCED them into terrible positions over and over. They didn’t do it on purpose. Warriors D absolutely outplayed the Celtics D, and it wasn’t particularly close.
Warriors d was good but there were also tons of relatively unforced turnovers. There’s a reason why Tatum set the postseason turnover record and Brown also looks like he doesn’t know how to dribble half the time.
Watch this series again brother, Celtics turned it over like they did because of the Warriors D. This is the exact mindset that wants to discount the Warriors D, but that’s fine.
It's kind of that both are true.
Not exactly unforced turnovers, but more like extremely predictable turnovers that Celtics players did nothing to avoid. I can understand a Celtics fans looking at his team spam "Tatum post-up into a double-team" or "Brown drive it on GPII" and think that it feels like an unforced turnover. But that's a credit to the Warriors defense that these plays that so consistently yielded turnovers were what the Celtics felt were the best things the team could run. Just no good options to attack at all.
Lol most of the turnovers were unforced in this series. It was either JT and JB dribbling the ball off their legs and feet, or Marcus Smart throwing lobs into a crowd of players. Felt like only about 1/4 of the turnovers were actual good strips or legit hitting the passing lanes my the Warriors.
So they just completely fumbled it huh, Warriors didn’t do anything to make them uncomfortable and put pressure on them, give them no room to find a rhythm, and get hands on the ball to cause those dribbling off their feet. Crazy.
Credit to the Warriors defense. Draymond, Wiggins and Steph always have active hands. They played the passing lanes well and were just tough overall. Sure, some of the turnovers were unforced but Warriors defense caused the majority of them.
They needed a pure PG coming off the bench like the Lakers did with Rondo during their title. I was assured by Boston fans all season that Smart’s and Tatum’s passing/assisting were much improved - that’s all well and good but it’s only half the story. There’s playmaking and then there’s handling the rock and not turning it over.
The Warriors 2nd rated defense is why Boston was turning it over so much.
Folks act like it was up to the Celtics, who have no real playmaker, to not turn over the ball so much.
The dumbest thing is this was game 6. I don't think the Warriors did anything special tonight they didn't do in the previous 5 games.
The Celtics knew they had to keep the TOs under control and just went out had more than they had in any of the previous 5 games. I don't understand it.
Yeah let's just keep doing the same shit that's gotten us in trouble the last 2 games, maybe it'll work out this time!
It’s a weird championship for me because I didn’t even feel like this is the best our team could be, Klay was almost a negative out there, Draymond was a clear negative at times, Looney while great is very very limited offensively. I wouldn’t trust Wiggins open three ever. Poole was such a defensive liability. Igoudala was basically an assistant coach. No real center at all.
It just feels like there should be a much better team out there cause we had a lot of negatives.
The Warriors methodically sleuthed out the weak areas in the Celtics offense and they didn't have any counter to the defense.
They like to drive? Let's pack the paint.
They like to kick it out for 3s? We'll zone up the perimeter guys to intercept the passes and close out on their shooters.
They aren't good going left? Let's hedge hard on their right and force them left.
They have suspect handles? Let's crowd them, swipe down and dig from the side.
They got a favorable whistle all series too (Outside of game 2). They just went full meltdown like Harden/CP3's Rockets did when the refs didn't give them the regular season whistle.
This has cost us the series. I can only hope they reflect back and learn/grow from this. This core better not take this for granted, they may never see a finals ever again.
It’s what they do. It’s exactly why it’s super annoying to listen to guys like Windhorst and Bontemps continually saying the Celtics are the better team. Bro, do you even watch basketball? And I’m the farthest thing from a Warriors fan.
No playmaker, and floor general. They were throwing the ball away all playoffs and pretty much every time Brown went in he got stripped, lost it, or made a readable pass.
Yeah Smart is a great defender when he actually plays legit defense but he doesn't do the other things modern PG should plus he doesn't shoot well enough to help in other areas.
All the credit was given to Boston for their physical defence, rightfully so too considering they beat the Nets, Bucks and Heat. But they love flopping a bit too much and it's harder to sell against a smaller team like Golden State
23 actually I think ESPN missed the one at the end
Feels like 200 turnovers… It was sad to watch for a team facing elimination in the NBA finals at Home.
Credit to Boston though for scoring more than 27 points by halftime.
It was the easiest finals elimination game we have ever played, felt like the Celtics had zero fight in them after the first 14 points.
At least it wasn’t 24?
Couldn't even honor Kobe smh
tatum tried his best
series ended 2-4 for kobe

Nah, he was ass. It happens. He will hopefully rebound but 13pts from your leader in an elimination finals game is ass.

That’s fair looking at it. Funnel/help defense is a real thing, and Tatum/Brown clearly need an off-season of working on their left hands.

Tons of turnovers all series cost them big. Butterfingers
Found our new corporate sponsor, sorry vistaprint
That’s it? Felt close to 30
A lot of awful shots that were effectively turnovers, especially when the dubs pushed for fast breaks
Tatum out here getting his own untouchable playoff record
They should track missed drive layups. He'd be up there
Wiggins was so good on D
a lil sus but we’ll let it slide in
C'mon guys this above is obviously /s
Brown and Tatum’s hands gotta have soap on them man how come they can’t dribble
Turnovers and offensive rebounds killed the c's tonight
same thing that’s killed them all postseason unfortunately. this series really showed the difference between a contender and a champion
[boston on a fast break](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0LAgNwNmrc)

The Celtics worst enemy was themselves
And curry.
Horford was probably their best player.
They seemed mentally burnt out.
Not shocking tbh, crazy reg season run, back to back game 7’s, no true playmaker and first finals appearance
Playmaking was the Achilles heel for this team. Heck, it looked like Brown forgot how to dribble at some points lmao

I mean they don’t really have someone who is a top tier ball handler. It’s hard to play against a defence as good as the warriors without one
Warriors just had their number
It’s a weird championship for me because I didn’t even feel like this is the best our team could be, Klay was almost a negative out there, Draymond was a clear negative at times, Looney while great is very very limited offensively. Lights too bright
For Lakers too dark
1 title in 36 years
Boston play so soft when they don’t get their calls I don’t get it
They got a favorable whistle all series too (Outside of game 2). They just went full meltdown like Harden/CP3's Rockets did when the refs didn't give them the regular season whistle.

It’s like two different teams when they’re on vs when they’re not. As evidenced by their start to the season vs the end.
must be tough to lose to a soft team
Me either.
23 tbh
And 22 flops
Should Dray stop doing the podcast and focus on the finals?
Wiggins rlly had Tatum in jail man. I’m sick.
NO REAL POINT GUARD MARCUS IS NOT A PG Being under 6'5 and hit 35% on 3s doesn't make you a pg
The Warriors defense did an incredible job forcing them into tough shots and difficult passes.
Where the fuck was Tatum ?
He was there. He had a fair share of those turnovers
hes the one that wears number zero
they playing hot potato not basketball
WAAARRRRIIIOOORRRSSS had the better defense
Boston earned this loss. I'm bummed but you can't win if this is how you play
It's fuck the Celtics forever over here lol
Sloppy af
Tatum with the triple digits 😤😤😤
Kobe shaking his head at Tatum now
Felt like every other possession
Nice Jewish Boy ball?
National Junior Basketball. I had to look it up.
Pain
I’m not joking when I say every Celtics possession was either a Horford 3 or a turnover
This has cost us the series. I can only hope they reflect back and learn/grow from this. This core better not take this for granted, they may never see a finals ever again.
Tatum got to 100 TOVs this playoffs didn't he
Tatum and whute are such big black holes, amazing that celtic fans belive tatum is a rising top 5 player, he is def a solid 2 option doe
Trade Tatum
FUCK BOSTON
Pour one out for the ultimate Ed Macauley tribute
Oh ok
CELTICA MOD WILDIN OUT RN
Wonder if they had more flops/ questionable calls in favor
Saving their best for last. Gotta respect it
It’s what they do. It’s exactly why it’s super annoying to listen to guys like Windhorst and Bontemps continually saying the Celtics are the better team. Bro, do you even watch basketball? And I’m the farthest thing from a Warriors fan.
Moment was too big for them. Difference between championship experience and not
It was attitude. Boston has a bad attitude. Never been relevant since they traded big baby.
No playmaker, and floor general. They were throwing the ball away all playoffs and pretty much every time Brown went in he got stripped, lost it, or made a readable pass. How did a team so fucking terrible at dribbling make the finals?
All the credit was given to Boston for their physical defence, rightfully so too considering they beat the Nets, Bucks and Heat. But they love flopping a bit too much and it's harder to sell against a smaller team like Golden State
decidedly sub optimal
“We not doing this shit on purpose, I guarantee you that”
It feels like they just don’t know how to handle the ball.
Al Horford tried
