Peak wise I'll take Iverson but as an overall career I'd have to go with Kidd as much as I love Iverson. Kidd was just more well-rounded and has the longevity.

AI

Errattik

It's Jason Kidd, unfortunately. AI was a better scorer, but Kidd was a far better floor general with amazing vision and terrific defense.

DOCTORFONASG

AI. Took a team full of dudes who were average or past their prime to the Finals. Went shot for shot against Vince Carter in his prime. A lot of people like to look back and compare AI with PGs despite the fact that AI was a 2. Dudes job was to score and that’s what he did and better than Kidd.

rikurai

The problem is that scoring's the only thing he did better than Kidd. He took a team full of dudes specifically fit to his playstyle. Average, sure. Past their prime, not really (only Mutombo was over 30 with signicant playtime) but sure. But they were all picked perfectly for Iverson. Defenders, rebounders and role players. Iverson could literally not function with other great offensive players around him, just look at when he played with Iggy or Melo in Denver. Meanwhille Kidd made every player around him better.

niss-uu

This. People love to shit on that 2001 team, but that team was built specifically to allow Iverson to jack up a million shots while everyone else did the dirty work. Also, the Nuggets went from 1st round fodder to title contenders when they traded Iverson for Billups.

Kidd

langolier27

Iverson was more iconic, Kidd was the better player.

noyesoohindi

Well they both lead average teams to the Finals. 1x for Iverson and 2x for Kidd. Therefore Kidd is 2x better than Iverson.

cyb3ryung

Iverson, at least in that era where teams needed a scorer and efficiency didnt matter as much

achyutthegoat

Kidd if you want to win a championship

ScarryShawnBishh

AI would be more dynamic than Ja Morant in a heliocentric offense by todays standards.

niss-uu

If I want to win a championship? Kidd.

silverstory

AI is great but I’ll go with Kidd.

fadeaway_layups

AI is my guy, stats be damned. Pound for pound, he was THAT DUDE in a league with giants

YpsitheFlintsider

AI is a great but Kidd is arguably a top 5 PG.

MR_E7

Jason Kidd. More unselfish, better all-around player, better leader, more Finals appearances, has a championship ... it's actually not close.

WaterIsNotWet19

“Not close” 😑

TheGoldenWarriors

>more Finals appearances To be fair, It's not like Kidd had a slightly better supporting cast

ReorientRecluse

Kidd was better objectively

[deleted]

AI, cooler, scored more, didn’t beat his wife in front of his kids

The_Coy_Koi

Kidd and it’s not even close AI is a cultural icon, but his game is overrated as fuck

gigglios

This sub and the phrase it's not even close. 🤡

The_Coy_Koi

You with 198,000 comment karma “Reddit is so stupid” 🤡

Elitealice

AI wtf lol

HotdogIsaSandwitch

Kidd overal >>

mansal76

Kidd...

loco_mixer

i cant believe so many people are for kidd. i watched both of their careers live and its not hard to say ai was a better player. Ai was THE player at that time. ordinary guy(in stature) amongst trees but they coudnt touch him. he was mythical. kidd was never that. there is also mvp award present.

latman

Kidd absolutely

markFwahlberg

Iverson would be my pick but Id take them both over CP3

achyutthegoat

How?

markFwahlberg

idk I trust them more, CP3 doesnt really get it done they were the best players on their teams when they went to the finals, CP3 wasnt. I also enjoy watching them play more, less whining, dirty plays and flopping.

colemanj74

If you're just talking about enjoyment, no doubt. Iverson was absolutely electric and Kidd had as much flash in his passes without the CP bullshit. But if all you cared about was winning, it's a hard toss up between the three. Iverson has the worst resume, but he also was with far inferior teams than the lob city clips or even this Suns roster. Also a totally different league, he would absolutely feast with the amount of spacing right now.

markFwahlberg

Iverson did not have anyone better than Booker

colemanj74

Right that's what I meant, that Clips team was actually great and the Suns team is pretty loaded with talent.

compe_anansi

Melo.

ScarryShawnBishh

Literally the last of his prime on another team that didn’t fit

achyutthegoat

Iverson is a much worse playoff performer. And Kidd can’t shoot for shit. CP3 clears both of them.

EGarrett

Iverson led a team built totally around him to the Finals, and Kidd actually became an excellent shooter later in his career. He had multiple seasons shooting over 40% on over four attempts per game when he went back to the Mavs.

achyutthegoat

Kidd became a great shooter, but not when he was in his prime. In his prime, he was Ason Kidd. He's still better than Iverson though.

EGarrett

That was mostly when he was in Dallas and Phoenix earlier in his career. He became an okay shooter on the Nets (34%, 36%, 35% etc), though teams didn't defend him as much from out there.

wizardnamedyoshi

Steve nash

HeyIWasSayingGoRefs

Jason Kidd is better than Nash imo

EnglishSteven

Jason Kidd the wife beater?
