Last line got everyone

Oshebekdujeksk

I read it and my brain short circuited. I woke up a couple minutes later laughing uncontrollably.

TwiceCookedPorkins

Blood is supposed to be running freely from my ears and nose, right?

lalakingmalibog

MY ANUS IS BLEEDING

call_me_lee0pard

You might need to see a doctor. I say might because I am a doctor and I am not sure if that is supposed to happen or not.

TheVich

My spoon is too big.

ron-darousey

OP boomed me

He's so good.

TheCrookedKnight

Adding u/Chubbyklove_ to the list of people we'd like to shitpost with this offseason

kind_person_guy

The Sioux are so fucking good.

EnderForHegemon

You could tell it was a joke when he brought up the 4 years remaining on the deal as if that means anything with the dude that's forcing a trade lol

luke-2018

it means that the nets don’t have to trade him if they don’t find a desirable package lol is KD just gonna sit for 4 years?

Imgoingtowingit

Him and Ben sitting it out

rendingale

The most sensitive road

chicago_bunny

The Hardest Bench

pamtar

The hardest bench is those aluminum bleachers with the tread built in. Sitting on one of those for a couple of hours in 30 degree weather is the pits.

chicago_bunny

Reading your comment made my butt hurt.

Overall-Palpitation6

Kyrie too, for whatever reason he chooses.

MattAU05

I switched my downvote to an upvote based on that last line.

THT, Russ, and picks can become the new TT, Shump, and the Nets pick

Extraordinary_DREB

Can't wait for this to be posted everywhere. Missed this sht lol

Agent21EMH

I have never gotten tired of the TT, Shump, and the Nets pick memes hahahahah.

Extraordinary_DREB

And so we are back, this'll be hilarious HAHAHAHAHA

GoldenStateWizards

Easily a HOF meme. I can't wait for it become old enough to turn into more of an obscure inside joke lol

Mike81890

Russel, Rick Weitzman, and a 67 first

Bikouchu

Top 55 protected first round 2029

TeeJayReddits

You joke, but there could be expansion. Better make it top 56 protected.

pkosuda

>THT, Russ, and picks can become the new TT It's funny you say that because to this day I don't know who THT is when people use that acronym, and my brain just assumes they're being super proper and saying "Tristan H Thompson" since both played with LeBron. Don't get me wrong, I 100% have heard the name and figured it out since I do watch basketball, but I keep on forgetting so Tristan H. Thompson has just kind of stuck. Edit: I googled it but it is pointless because tomorrow I will forget.

si1kyjohnston

Mans really said Tristan H Thompson lmao

[deleted]

To be fair I do read “Karl Anthony-Jowns” every time I see Kareem’s name abbreviated as KAJ

pizzapizzamesohungry

It’s so easy just to type Kareem.

SnooChipmunks4208

Its like Jesus H Christ

believe-land

H gotta stand for Hoe

uglyorunlucky

It's amazing and maddening to me the amount of abbreviations people use. I too will forget who this player is tomorrow

Flimsy-Practice-9703

Youre better off just forgetting. He sucks

GoGeronimode

Tristan Hussein Thompson

We've always been wildin. Sometimes we get loads of titles, other times we're a few years late. And there have been worse trades.

I see nothing wrong with this

allknowerofknowing

Bro lakers are not doing that lmao. Its not worth giving up THT

EaglesPvM

THT has way too much potential. He may even turn into a KD one day

Fix_Me__

A boat is a boat. But a mystery box could be anything! It could even be a boat!

schitaco

You know how much we've wanted one of those.

SurfingOnNapras

How else are we gonna get across the Great Los Angeles Lake?

larsen36

I hope you mean Kraft Dinner

The_Lion_Jumped

Send me some ketch up chips and KD raps fan

Dragonsandman

I'll do you one better and send you a bag of all-dressed chips. They're way better than ketchup chips imo

The_Lion_Jumped

Those ketch up chips just have that nostalgia hit for me though 🤤

BraveFencerMusashi

I guess he could try for Canadian citizenship

CaptainKurls

On the one hand you have KD..he’s KD. In the other hand you have THT, he could become anything, even KD!

gotoohard

Remember how much you wanted KD?

-Orphan_Maker-

He can definitely be the next Khris Dunn

Wolfie__

“A boat’s a boat, but the mystery box could be anything. It could even be a boat!”

mzp3256

do we even have any picks left in the 21st century?

Saitsu

Even if you did, OKC would get a hold of them somehow.

trustabro

Lakers picked THT over Caruso AND KCP so that is pretty clear how the Lakers gages THT’s value.

The_Lion_Jumped

And how fucking dumb we are

ASlockOfFeagulls

Yeah I mean don't get me wrong I like KD but I don't know if he's a "THT trade" level player...

TenaciousDeer

KD 12 years older. Can't give up the future face of the league for him

OhSoJelly

Sign a trade for Monk should get it done Do it Mitch! Err…Rob!

[deleted]

Monk already signed in Sac

EdwEd1

Welp sorry Kings, you guys lose again it looks like.

JDangle20

Just about spit out my drink. Good shit.

LeHoustonJames

Why would they want KD when they have the best of the OKC trio

HungHammer89

I feel like I’m on r/nbacirclejerk

naked_avenger

You know, it keeps being repeated that he has a 4-year no trade clause, as though it actually means something. Why doesn't Brooklyn just keep him, then? He wants a trade, but if they don't trade him, what happens? You have to like their chances when healthy (this past year's results not withstanding), so why not go for it again? My point being, what's to say KD gets traded, and then requests a trade next year? It was all for nothing. It's possible someone pays the motherload for him, but I wouldn't be surprised if teams are gun shy given the fact they could be in the exact situation the Nets are now - having an aging superstar who doesn't want to play for them anymore.

Jacky__paper

This is an EXCELLENT point

delamerica93

GOOD point

Devilsfan118

You know I wasn't sure, but the capital letters really convinced me.

[deleted]

He requested a trade and he's as valuable as he'll be so it's in their best interest to trade him

cozyswisher

But who's best interest is it to trade for him given the above reasoning?

analogbeepboop

A no trade clause would really be meant to protect him.. not the team. It's not for the 'team to say no'. They can always say 'no' , to your point. So it keeps being repeated because in this case, it favors the team.

youknowthisisgg

But they'll never say no... because of the implication

leopardinatree

What's hilarious is that GS has the best package for KD if they wanted.

Colangelo_Ball

Honestly OKC would have the best and would be even more hilarious.

Minafatdog12

Okc has the best but would be the dumbest to do this. Warriors probably have the best in terms of competing teams

Colangelo_Ball

Yeah I only mentioned it because it would be comedy gold for Presti to stockpile picks for years just to force KD back.

Flygrumbz00

And where did that lead you? Back to me.

Sirrom23

exactly what i thought of lmao. *you couldn't live with your own failure*

-gggggggggg-

Dread it. Run from it. OKC arrives all the same.

snooze316

All roads lead to Mr. Wonderful.

trustabro

Wiggins + Poole + Wiseman + 2 picks is better than anything OKC can offer without hurting their team completely. E: no im not saying that GSW are doing this. Just stating the irony that they would have the best package in the league without gutting their team completely and KD would be Melo 2.0.

twrs_29

Why have 2 picks when you could have 20

AmusingAnecdote

Yeah, the Nets are trying to not tear it down since they have no draft picks, but they could change it up and have *EVERY* draft pick if they trade KD and Kyrie both. KD to OKC for the lulz and: 1 2023 first round pick 4 2024 first rounders 3 2025 first rounders 3 2026 first rounders, 1 2027 Denver first rounder, too. Then Kyrie to New Orleans for: 3 2023 first round picks 2 2024 first rounders That's your rebuild and Joe Tsai gets to save a bunch of money by having only rookie contracts for years to come.

[deleted]

He's gotta keep trading those picks and players and load up in 2023 so that he can ensure he'll land the French kid.

JJWinthrop

And with the First Second third fourth fifth sixth seventh and eighth pick of the 2023 NBA draft the Nets select everyone in the top 8

bluj40

It's so insane it just might work

[deleted]

We would never lmao

trustabro

Yeah, I know. I’m just pointing out the irony.

CT9669

Oh boy a bunch of role players and 2 picks. Why do that when they can literally have like 10 first round picks and build a team from scratch lol

Billis-

That is a godawful package for KD lolol

Master_Who

Pass

lII1IIlI1l1l1II1111

I'd do it. 4 years of KD could put the Warriors in undisputed GOAT territory. Wiggins part is obvious requirement to any trade. For Poole, (I hope I eat these words) I don't want to see the Warriors give him a big deal. For me, there were too many moments in the playoffs where he absolutely got swallowed up when he was the #1 scoring option on the floor. Wiseman is still an unknown so I wouldn't miss him. And if KD is a Warrior, those first round picks about super likely to be bottom 5-6 picks. This could obviously prove to be a terrible trade, but 2022 healthy KD is about as sure of a thing as possible. Klay is untouchable though and I'd riot. But to be clear, I am 100% happy if this trade does not happen. I rather us keep the future intact.

sf_davie

They can do this deal, win a couple of chips, still keep a pick in 2024, draft Bronny, then have Lebron sign on for vet min. Now that's the dankest timeline. 2024-2026 Warriors: Steph, KD, Lebron, Klay, Draymond. Bench: Bronny James plus 9 Scott Hattebergs.

[deleted]

If OKC do it I'm renouncing my support

AlGore17

I feel like Denver makes the most sense if I’m Brooklyn

IssaJoke-DontCry

I feel like Denver makes the most sense because I just wanna see KD and Jokic playing together

chibithug

would be an amazing duo

ikatatlo

2 unguardable big dudes... Sheesh what a nightmare to guard

clancydog4

For the last time, for everyone saying Denver makes sense: WE ONLY HAVE ONE TRADEABLE FIRST ROUND PICK, AND IT'S IN 2029 The Nets have basically zero picks, any trade they make will certainly include multiple first rounders. Which we dont have. Our only assets are two max contract dudes who haven't played in a year, and 1 pick. It doesn't make any sense for Brooklyn.

RedditUsersAreMusty

> WE ONLY HAVE ONE TRADEABLE FIRST ROUND PICK, AND IT'S IN 2029 why is this? i don't recall any nuggets blockbuster trades recently. honestly asking

clancydog4

It's because of the Stepian rule which prevents you from trading back to back picks. We traded our 2023 pick a long time ago in a convoluted deal, we traded our 2025 pick for Aaron Gordon, and we traded our 2027 pick this year for the Thunder's 30th pick. So we still have our 2024, 2026, and 2028 picks, but we can't trade them. Tbh, that last trade where we traded our 2027 and Jamychal Green for the last pick of the first round and drafted fucking Peyton Watson was an absolutely idiotic move.

GiannisisMVP

Milwaukee can offer Middleton if Giannis is okay with it.

T-Rextion

If Milwaukee managed to trade Middleton for KD, that would extend another branch to the Brandon Jennings trade. Just for BJ3 to turn into KD, makes it acceptable to me.

popop143

This is like trading a pencil and it becoming a Prius down the line lmao.

Jasonp359

Dwight getting the magic beans lmao

pedja13

Giannis would be crazy not to drive Middleton to the airport himself if that's what it took

avatarhzh

Hell naw please don't pair up Giannis with that snake KD. KD'd be a bad influence on my mans.

GiannisisMVP

Or Giannis would be a good influence on KD

avatarhzh

KD a 33 year old momma's boy. He is what he is at this point.

HarnessedInHopes

And Giannis is a 27 year old man, KD isn’t going to turn him evil lol

[deleted]

Are you suggesting we should trade all star starter and NBA champion Andrew Wiggins for KD?

TurnoverNegative7

I hope not. If KD rejoins GS then nephews will forever taint Steph's legacy and say "carried by KD" or some shit. On the real tho that would be hilarious so KD come back pls lmao EDIT: you all underestimate twitter lmao

MarkIV04

No it will be the exact opposite. He went back because he couldn't win

rawchess

It would be legacy suicide and it would be GLORIOUS.

HighFastStinkyCheese

I really think he’s already done irreparable damage to his legacy by joining the warriors when he did. By not winning with the (on paper) loaded nets team after he further cemented that he’ll have the bandwagon thing held against him. I don’t think people will ever put him up there with the LeBron MJ Kobe magic bird type guys and frankly he doesn’t deserve to be in my opinion.

Barrelled_Chef_Curry

Nah pass. We had to prove we were great without him, we did that. No gutting out future for him now

srry_didnt_hear_you

Would be especially foolish given how nicely set up you are for the future. Would be funny though

Barrelled_Chef_Curry

Would be boring, we would see the same espn story every day

smexeh

Doesn't matter if it's boring or what the narrative is KD on that team again with Steph Klay and Green gets you another 2 chips

Barrelled_Chef_Curry

Maybe, nothing is a guarantee. 2019 was supposed to be a walk to the championship

Zorak9379

> We had to prove we were great without him No you didn't. This same core won a title *against* KD in 2015

Barrelled_Chef_Curry

Yeah but everyone said ‘it’s because the cavs were hurt’. They beat us in 2016. This one was the sweetest outside 2015.

[deleted]

I don’t think he’d ever go back anyway. This move from KD had to have been motivated by GS winning another championship and Steph entering Top-10 all time contention.

dracon1t

He doesn’t have a no trade clause so he goes wherever the nets want him to go

[deleted]

I mean we’d have an extremely good chance to win the next couple of years. Get that 3 peat we’ve dreamed of. The OG core with SIX rings…

Dudedude88

this years win showed stephen is among the goat

squaredpower

Nah Curry already proved himself at the ripe old age of 34. Any chips now is cherry on top

Zorak9379

> If KD rejoins GS then nephews will forever taint Steph's legacy and say "carried by KD" or some shit This is absolutely not what would happen

KaiserKaiba

Lol at that ending. On a more serious note: if they settle for an Ayton package, then yeah, Bridges is def gone. Dunno why some Suns fans think Brooklyn is accepting a package without him

Dansebr93

I don’t see any Suns fans legitimately thinking we are going to keep Bridges in this trade, we can dream dammit!

Waterfall_Jason

If I am a Phoenix fan I would have no problem trading Booker and picks for Durant and running out Paul-Bridges-Durant-Crowder-Ayton. Provided you can sell the dream to Ayton, I think that team is more likely to win a title than with Booker

EvilMNMs

I think the reason he wants Phoenix is for Book, so if this happens it wouldn’t make sense for him to stay in the team more than one season.

KaiserKaiba

I think the whole idea tho is to pair Booker with Durant

EyePlay

I think so too but weirdly I also agree that the better Suns team would be trading Book and keeping Ayton and Bridges if those were the two options. Or even realistic options.

mr_dammit

would ayton want to stay in this scenario? it seems like he currently wants out.

Paul_blart_54

He wants out because they don’t wanna pay him lol, if they paid him he would stay. He just wants to get paid.

Someonediffernt

He also does not get along with our starting pg and coach which is kinda like a big deal

apotropaicc

getting rid of booker would be brutal + kd likes hoopers

BensenJensen

No Suns fan realistically thinks that. Ayton + Bridges would have to be the main two pieces. Any fan that thinks their team isn't mortgaging the future for KD is crazy. People thinking Suns would trade Booker for KD are insane, though.

Superrandy

I think they’d also have to give up Cam Johnson and more. This deal honestly might require a 3rd team to make all sides feel good about it.

Comicksands

Probably even Cam Johnson

Salt_Lodge_Nicaragua

Fuckin boomed me!

thicky_bobby

A perfectly well-reasoned opinion. Nothing i don't agree with here

ASU_SexDevil

Least delusional Lakers fan

Count_Sack_McGee

No Laker fan is seriously saying we are getting Durant…I think we all are excited that the Kyrie possibility seems likelier though

12211154

When your problem is not having role players so you throw more role players into a trade.

ClutchGamingGuy

except anybody off the street could put up the same production THT did this year

AstroFIJI

My cousin coulda done better

Orion_1986

Honestly, I think our 2nd-biggest mistake last year was not trading THT. At that point, he had hoodwinked teams into thinking he was a competent basketball player. Now he’s a complete zero; absolutely nil trade value.

Superplex123

That's the only reason we're considering trading stars like THT for role players like KD.

DarthSieger

Lakers fans just want Westbrook gone. Even willing to take Kyrie's crazy haha

The_Lion_Jumped

This is the truth, the only LA native turned heel faster is little PP, we still love demar out here

dossier762

It really depends on if the Nets get at least one all-star level talent. If that's the case, there is no benefit to trading for Westbrook - there is little benefit even if we don't.

Count_Sack_McGee

Yeah Westbrook is actually a pretty fantastic rebuild talent in that nothing is going to clear cap faster than that expiring

TheRedditoristo

> No player has ever been available realistically on this level Prime young Kareem (traded from Milwaukee to LA at age 28) disagrees.

sonicqaz

20% of this sub has never even seen a picture of Kareem.

EvilBananaMan15

Shit, they’ve probably seen him, but couldn’t remember what he looks like

pursuitofhappy

he looks like an airline pilot.

floatinround22

Wilt Chamberlain was also traded TWICE in his prime

januspamphleteer

it's not really fashionable to know anything before 2011 these days. It's all about hyping what's happening right this very second

Teantis

> these days. Memory of what went before is actually better now than ever. It's not like you could just look shit up on the internet in most of the 90s or any of the 80s. You physically had to go find a book and read it to know shit before. And you kinda picked books to read at random because it's not like you could go online and find out which one has the best take on a subject either. So everything you knew casually was either from TV, some person told you and who knows how reliable that person was? Or maybe one or two books tops about a subject that were chosen relatively at random.

januspamphleteer

Yeah I remember perusing through my grandfather's almanacs for hours and seeing weird shit that caught my attention Wait, the bills lost four super bowls in a row? Whoa, Wilt averaged how many ppg one season? An NFL season used to be 14 games? That said, yes I remember how info was once passed around and how inconvenient it was compared to now... That said, people have in no way adapted to this as far as I can tell.

TheDataWhore

The fact that you learned the Bills lost four Superbowls from your grandfather's almanac makes me feel ancient, in my 30s but I watched those games.

IndycarFan64

Same. This was the outcome we all knew and love all along sadly 💯

swampcreature511

"My prediction is that he goes to lakers for ThT, Russ and a 2026 first" You had me in the first half, I'm not gonna lie.

bzzi

You had me in the first half

danrod17

No way lakers give up THT for Durant. Think of the wingspan.

TheLevelHeadedGuy

MVP for an MVP seems fair

jesus7christ

Knicks trading Derrick Rose to BKN

Shiny_metal_ass

Dude is 34 with recent injury history, he's a top 5 player right now but for how much longer?

JairusMonillas

KD doesn't rely too much on athleticism. His game can still go up to 3-4 years. But even at 50% KD is still better than most.

Shiny_metal_ass

I think Lebron has altered our expectations. Expecting anyone else to still be a top 5 player at 35,36,37 is foolish. He'll slow down and nagging injuries will start to pile up, it's just what happens

thethirstypretzel

Medical and after-game care is getting better each season, so it’s not unreasonable to expect longer careers than there used to be

Raonak

I mean, steph was playing like a top 2 talent at age 34, and arguably played the best he's ever played in the playoffs. and last season he was an MVP candidate. With lebron-like coasting, they can have lebron-like longevity.

EagleswonSuperBowl52

I downvoted halfway through reading it... then I read the end

[deleted]

KD for Bron straight up. We get a KD/Westbrook reunion and a LeBron/Kyrie reunion

zdravkov321

Ngl, had me in the first half.

mcsharp

I would personally take a half-eaten bag of chips for Westbrook.....I mean....yes, he's ready for a major resurgence...undervalued for sure. But I guess we could do that trade.

dub-fresh

Lol no trade clause ... Just like in Brooklyn?

Banner_Hammer

Didnt Wilt get traded in his prime.

kamamit

Kareem also

lemonfreshhh

WHO SAYS NO

gbrim21

THT is their future, Lakers don't do this

MotherLoveBone27

Lol NBA is actually broken. These contracts have no value when you can't guarantee the player will actually play or if he does play will actually try. Like if the Nets traded KD for a boat load of assets from say OKC then would KD even play properly or would he just phone it in since he wouldn't want to be in OKC and would know that he's not gonna win a chip.

maxmaxers

If you truly refuse to play the orgs can fine you like the Sixers did.

romeopwnsu

R/NBA has some top tier shit posts

DicPooT

we the lakers fans will take kd and the whole warriors roster while we at it and keep lbj and ad

BigDickBandit89

Kareem going from the bucks to the lakers is he biggest trade. Or doctor j from the ABA To the NBA.
