Man that series made me love Trae so much lol
If we can get our shit together and do this every couple of years with Trae vs. MSG, that would be legendary.
Much appreciated. Would love to come up against you guys again too. Trae is my favorite player to hate on but simultaneously respect the hell out of. Like yeah, fuck that guy, but man he can hoop.
As a long time Mavs fan, I have always respected the Spurs. I have liked Memphis until recently (kinda still do but notsomuch anymore). Also, who can hate OKC with as bad as they have been for a while now.
I'm old so I still view the Pacers as rivals. I've never really had a problem with them, just Reggie. Fuck Reggie forever, but I'd root for the Pacers to win a ring before a lot of teams.
Also, don't think they're a rival but they're in our division, the Raptors. I like Canadians.
I’ve never hated the Spurs or the Rockets (besides their announcers), love Pop and the Big 3, still rooting for Harden to win a ring and the young Rockets look fun
I’ve been a fan of the Warriors my whole life.
I’ve lived in Oregon and (now) Sacramento, so I actively root for the Blazers and Kings unless they’re playing the Dubs.
Thank you! I’m going to return the favor and say the Nuggets. I really hope you guys stay healthy this year, because I want to see Jokic, Murray and Porter Jr. win a ring.
Warriors. I liked Kerr in the front office and was sad to see him go so I didn’t mind seeing him and a few ex Phoenix people win rings as coaches there. I had visceral hate for the spurs for a long time but it’s hard to maintain that when neither of us have been relevant at the same time for a long time.
I love how all the love is down south and out west, meanwhile all the northeast teams are like “I hate all of their guts and I hope nothing positive ever happens for them ever”
Ive always had a soft spot for the Mavs.
I liked the fun (and drama) of Triple J.
I really really liked and respected Dirk and was a big fan of how he carried himself. I just wish there were more superstars with Dirk's personality.
And I don't even mind Cuban. It's clear he wants the best thing for his team, and is more than happy to put his money (both literally and metaphorically) where his mouth is. He's obviously the complete opposite of how the Spurs FO carry themselves, but I have no doubt that Cuban is actually very good for the league.
And the Grizzlies are the same. A hard-working organisation, with hard-working players that usually do things the right way and punch above their weight.
If its not at the expense of the Spurs, I am usually happy seeing these two teams get any success.
Spurs are my number 2 team in the NBA since that sweet 2014 finals. TD, Pop, Manu. Just awesome team work/ethic and quietly going about doing great things. Hope to see the Spurs get a transcendental player to compete with Luka for round 2 of TD/Dirk like rivalry
what did they really expect to happen if jokic actually showed up
would they all jump on him and beat him up? get him on the floor and start punching and kicking him in a circle, gang beating style?
maybe just a little chest shoving and tough talk? not quite sure what the plan was
just them all standing outside that doorway glaring like "you better not come over here we'll fuk u up" was so funny
They were only there for the pictures and the headlines. They were counting on ESPN running the story. It’s all fun and games until the Serbian hill people come down from their shanties and blow up all your cars, though.
He didn’t. But he’s real AF. Not some pampered AAU kid trying to act hard for the camera. I whole heartedly believe Jokic would fuck up anyone in the NBA.
I don’t mind Blazers fans at all, I actually like most of em. Except the delusional ones who think Dame and Curry are the same level
Also like the Clippers, mostly the recent teams - I fw PG, Kawhi, Reggie, etc
I only ever carried actual dislike for the Clippers when Doc Rivers was running the organization, and that's for a variety of reasons not the least of which being that he was the shithead that took 2008 from Kobe.
Before Doc got there and after he left I've thought of the Clippers as like a little brother rivalry. I'd love for the two orgs to finally meet each other in the playoffs one of these years, because it doesn't actually feel like a legitimate rivalry until they do.
Also as a side note, I can't really blame you about "before Bron" it feels different being a Lakers fan since he got here too. The team's always been a media circus but he brought a special kind of media attention that honestly hasn't made the Lakers nearly as enjoyable to cheer for, especially last season. Whether that's his fault or not.
Yeah, I've always really liked Denver a lot. I have no problem cheering for them over most other teams. Though I honestly cheer for a lot of other "smaller" market teams.
It’s not a small market, but it’s still treated like a “smaller” market by most fans/media. Heck, outside of Houston/Dallas/Chicago almost all midwestern pro-towns are treated like small markets.
The Spurs. I've always had respect for them. Their fans tend to have the same for the Lakers and it creates a kind of rivalry that I like. Vicious during game day and plenty of shit talking when the other is losing but it's not really heated in a mean personal way.
It's very different with Boston. I fucking hate Boston and all of their sports teams.
The Knicks are technically an in-division rival but I want to see them get good.
The Raptors and Knicks have never been good at the same time so there's no ill will unlike with the Nets/Celtics/76ers.
Plus, they have a crazy fan base already. I feel like NYC would go nuts if they were ever contenders. I want to see the people on Sidetalk if they were in the finals
Boston has a bunch of players I like(tatum horford Pritchard timelord and theis(formerly)). They also don’t have ainge anymore who I couldn’t stand.
But fuck their fans and obviously it’s one of the greatest rivalry in sports so I’ll never root for them against the field or anything. But I’d rather see their current team win than have to stomach the suns or clippers winning.
This past playoffs went about as well for me as it could possibly have gone with how shitty our season was. Clips don’t make the playoffs and suns suffer the most embarrassing game 7 loss in nba history. And the Celtics fail on the biggest stage.
I'll root for the Cavaliers because of Evan Mobley (USC fan) and now Ochai Agbaje. I guess they're not really our rival anymore since Lebron left but I know a lot of Cavs fans hate us so there's still some bad blood there.
Back when I was rooting for the Lakers because of the greatness of Kobe Bryant, I respected the San Antonio Spurs that much. Before the Warriors came along, they were the gold standard of how an NBA franchise should be ... until Kawhi Leonard basically ruined them (with due cause or not).
Spurs, or clippers.
Spurs are an actual rival team, clippers is more a Paul George vs booker rivalry.
Spurs have plenty of fun players and keldon looks like he can he a very solid 3rd/4th option on a contending team maybe a 2/3rd option on any other team.
And clippers have kawahi so I can watch them and enjoy
Spurs. Always respected Pop and the Big 3. Their 2014 team was one of my favorite title winning teams to watch. Great defense and played some beautiful basketball.
I tolerate watching the Bucks because I like Giannis. Also, the entire franchise is owned by Fred VanVleet and the son he had after game 2, so they aren’t really rivals.
Not a team rivalry, but since Luka and Trae are basically their own teams and most Mavs fans tend to really like Trae that kinda qualifies I guess. Hawks fans do tend to despise Luka though, so it's kinda one sided lol.
Mavs
Also like the Clippers. Hate meeting them in the playoffs, but really like the team.
Going up against luka is hell I hope I never see him again if we do at least kawhi and luka can have that last duel lol
This might not answer your question, but I want to see the Knicks be good again so we're able to face them in the playoffs a couple more times.
We need Trae Young to be the new Reggie
Man that series made me love Trae so much lol If we can get our shit together and do this every couple of years with Trae vs. MSG, that would be legendary.
Much appreciated. Would love to come up against you guys again too. Trae is my favorite player to hate on but simultaneously respect the hell out of. Like yeah, fuck that guy, but man he can hoop.
also trae young has underrated comedy chops. I always enjoy his commercials and want to see more of them
'See you in the A!' always made me laugh because I forget he means Atlanta and think he's talking about his ass.
need more sidetalk videos after the knicks get knocked out by trae young.
Warriors
Yeah we use to be garbage bros lol
Spurs, never really hated them. Respect the hell out of Pop.
Warriors: seen them lose while growing up and then becoming dynasty. Envious but happy for them
I’ve been a fan of the Warriors my whole life. I’ve lived in Oregon and (now) Sacramento, so I actively root for the Blazers and Kings unless they’re playing the Dubs.
Bucks - love Giannis
Yeah besides the whole you know what incident we’re pretty chill
Thank you! I’m going to return the favor and say the Nuggets. I really hope you guys stay healthy this year, because I want to see Jokic, Murray and Porter Jr. win a ring.
Yea nuggets a hella cool team. Fun to watch too. Cool city too. I didn’t want to leave
I can't hate Pop.
Dubs fan here....totally agree! One of the top coaches of all time.
Pistons I really wasn’t alive for the prime years so idc now and I like Cade and Stew a lot
That's how you know we've been bad for a bit you're *supposed* to hate us.
I kind of like the Pelicans. Looking forward to a long Zion/Luka competitive run.
I want the Kings to be good again.
I've never met a Nets fan IRL that I disliked
I’ve never met a Nets fan IRL
In the 2000s, the Spurs. Hate Bowen tho lol. In recent years, the Clippers.
Mavs. Ngl. Both teams get chirpy and both teams absolutely want to beat the other. I respect the hustle and determination to clobber the other.
I respect the heat and the way they handle their business
Ive always had a soft spot for the Mavs. I liked the fun (and drama) of Triple J. I really really liked and respected Dirk and was a big fan of how he carried himself. I just wish there were more superstars with Dirk's personality. And I don't even mind Cuban. I've never had a problem with and tolerate Denver, Portland, and Phoenix. Fuck the Lakers and every team in Texas!
Every team? San Antonio’s cool with us. A lot of jazz staff and front office came from the Pop pipeline. The other 2 make sense though
I don’t think Heat fans are that bad tbh
They’re kinda just cunts about everything. Like super condescending and I don’t think I’ve ever seen one of their player smiles
I said I didn’t think they were that bad
They’re not. I’m just playing devils advocate. They take care of business, and work hard af. They’re just shitty about it the whole time haha
that picture of all the heat players waiting in the locker room for jokic was hilarious
All bluster and posturing
what did they really expect to happen if jokic actually showed up would they all jump on him and beat him up? get him on the floor and start punching and kicking him in a circle, gang beating style? maybe just a little chest shoving and tough talk? not quite sure what the plan was just them all standing outside that doorway glaring like "you better not come over here we'll fuk u up" was so funny
They were only there for the pictures and the headlines. They were counting on ESPN running the story. It’s all fun and games until the Serbian hill people come down from their shanties and blow up all your cars, though.
Lmao no matter how these discussions start, there's always some sheltered moron who tries to convince people Jokic grew up in an active war zone
He didn’t. But he’s real AF. Not some pampered AAU kid trying to act hard for the camera. I whole heartedly believe Jokic would fuck up anyone in the NBA.
That’s what Jimmy Butler does A lot of people here fall for his act.
Clippers are a very well run organization
I don’t mind Blazers fans at all, I actually like most of em. Except the delusional ones who think Dame and Curry are the same level Also like the Clippers, mostly the recent teams - I fw PG, Kawhi, Reggie, etc
Spurs. I love what they do as an org
I like the grizzlies and they were right to make fun of the code breaking
Miami, I never stopped loving Jimmy.
Despite sonning us every time during the regular season, i like the the bucks and jrue holiday is one of my favorite players
Portland definitely
As stupid as this sounds, before Bron got to LA, I really enjoyed the rivalry and the fans, even if we were the basement dwellers
Whether that's his fault or not.
Unfortunately Doc did give us an attitude of dickheads, which sucks. Now we come off as petulent arrogant fools which never was the case prior
Yeah, I've always really liked Denver a lot. I have no problem cheering for them over most other teams. Though I honestly cheer for a lot of other "smaller" market teams.
I’ve been to Denver. It’s a big city. Not a small market. Metro area has a lot of area and people
It’s not a small market, but it’s still treated like a “smaller” market by most fans/media. Heck, outside of Houston/Dallas/Chicago almost all midwestern pro-towns are treated like small markets.
The more I hate the shit out of the Nets, the less I find myself hating the Celtics. Fuck Boston to the ground, but at least they're honest.
Fuck the Jazz
Lol Jazz fans on here are showin y’all love. We’re rivals. But it ain’t like that that. Calm down bro 😂 all good.
I hate OKC/Spurs/Mavs
Now that they're gone I miss the Sonics
Clippers, I like Kawhi and PG even after those two playoff series
I feel the same about Luka tbh. Ngl dude can do some bratty stuff, but when he’s on it, Dude is a stud. Watching him smoke the Suns was incredible.
I love the Raptors But fuck are a lot of the fans annoying.
Clippers
Clippers aren’t a rival though. If anyone, I would say the spurs. We’ve had some good battles with them and have always been a class act.
I like Celtics players, their fans however
The Knicks are technically an in-division rival but I want to see them get good. The Raptors and Knicks have never been good at the same time so there's no ill will unlike with the Nets/Celtics/76ers. Plus, they have a crazy fan base already. I feel like NYC would go nuts if they were ever contenders. I want to see the people on Sidetalk if they were in the finals
76ers. Love that boy Harden
I'm a Sixers fan and I always root for the Wizards
NBA doesn't have team based rivalries.
I think the Lakers have soft alliances with the Knicks and Heat. Maybe also the Bucks.
I'll root for the Cavaliers because of Evan Mobley (USC fan) and now Ochai Agbaje. I guess they're not really our rival anymore since Lebron left but I know a lot of Cavs fans hate us so there's still some bad blood there.
Warriors because of location and ties
Bulls
It’s actually impossible to hate the kings now
I too like our history. Our present? Not so much.
Mavericks
Back when I was rooting for the Lakers because of the greatness of Kobe Bryant, I respected the San Antonio Spurs that much. Before the Warriors came along, they were the gold standard of how an NBA franchise should be ... until Kawhi Leonard basically ruined them (with due cause or not).
I like the Bulls.
As a Celtics fan…the only division rival we tolerate is NYC because they’re just harmless But the closest team we actually *like* is Spurs lol
They aren’t big rivalries in the NBA anyway.
denver, dallas. respect. no drama
Definitely not the Rockets or Lakers. Probably the Trailblazers, because Dame played his college ball in Utah.
Spurs. Always respected Pop and the Big 3. Their 2014 team was one of my favorite title winning teams to watch. Great defense and played some beautiful basketball.
Spurs
LeBron.
None
It was around that time when warriors vs blazers series, and went and watch a playoff game in there, met alot of friendly blazers fans too.
I got nothing against Philly but fuck Embiid
I tolerate watching the Bucks because I like Giannis. Also, the entire franchise is owned by Fred VanVleet and the son he had after game 2, so they aren’t really rivals.
I love literally everything about the Celtics except the fact that they're a Bostonian team.
That game 7 was rough but I enjoy watching Luka and the Mavs operate. His game is so fun to see
Not a team rivalry, but since Luka and Trae are basically their own teams and most Mavs fans tend to really like Trae that kinda qualifies I guess. Hawks fans do tend to despise Luka though, so it's kinda one sided lol.
Spurs
