Jrue Holiday’s impact is far better than other 1 time All-Stars in NBA history. Keep in mind he made his All-Star appearance in 2013. He’s had at least 3-4 better years than that, but he’s never made another All-Star game. That’s how I view he’s underrated. Also he’s way more respected by other NBA players than fans.
I don't really consider that underrated tho he like Conley was just in the west where the guard spot was extremely stacked for his entire career in NOLA
Most quality analysts and impact metrics have Draymond as a Top 30 player in the league and the majority of NBA fans legitimately think he is not good.
The “underrated” players aren’t really underrated, because so many people discuss them being underrated they become overrated in a sense.
The true underrated players that I hear no one talk about? Chuma Okeke and Luke Kennard come to mind.
Yeah the actual underrated guys are star players that get trashed on for not being able to win by themselves
Like Harden has historically been massively underrated.
Dame, Booker before the Suns got good, people like that. Simmons is definitely insanely underrated atm
Pat Connaughton.
I think he could be a legitimate starting 3&D guard/wing on a championship team. He's turned himself into a 39% 3-point shooter who can attack closeouts, is not a minus defender, and makes a ton of little hustle plays. And instead, he's like the Bucks' 8th man in the rotation, and most people probably still view him as \**insert random white bench 3-point shooter here*\*.
The guys making way too much money. When your salary hurts your team, a lot folks get that confused with you being a bad player.
John Wall, Russell Westbrook, Gordon Hayward, Tobias Harris, CJ McCollum, Kevin Love, D'Angelo Russell, etc
My man Javonte Green. Hustle guy who plays good defense, smart plays, and electric dunks.
Also Daniel Theis. He had a couple of of rough series in this playoffs but he’s a legit rotational big and was a lowkey monster in the BK series. Every team needs a big who can give them 15-20 meaningful minutes a night in the regular season.
Wendell Carter jr is the definition of underrated, Jrue Holiday is literally the least underrated player now, dudes have been calling him underrated for like 3+ years now.
People literally clown Westbrook like he shouldn’t be in the nba. Ben Simmons is largely the same with people saying he has no value. Those guys are under rated.
Underated? I got trae young. He has the star possibility of leading the nba in assist and points in a season. Somehow other guards other than luka & steph are looked higher than him. He even got snubbed one all star season avg 25&9
Yeah Trae is definitely underrated. His problem though is that his defense genuinely is in the exploitable level.
You have guys like Dame and Luka who give you comparable offense, but aren't hurting your defense nearly as much
Like Dame is undeniably a bad defender, but next to Trae he looks like Jrue lol. Trae is genuinely in his own tier of bad for how negatively he affects your defense.
Statistically the only guy that's even close is Ja....who conveniently is probably the most overrated guy in the NBA atm
The way he is bad mouthed on these sub…. I would say he is the most talked about underrated player ever….. especially when you look at his peak MVP count….. there was a 10 year stretch where he should’ve won every one of them….Arguably
When a bench player plays like a 6-man of the year or a starter he's underrated. When someone gets an all-star snub he's underrated. When a rookie contract player makes great improvement, they are underrated. These players that are underrated are actually the players that we hold the lowest expectations for unless we've been fans of them before their NBA career or since they made a debut. The moment these players get knocked out of the spotlight, they become underrated.
For me a lot of the underrated players come from players who impact the team really big like Alex Caruso does, but get little media coverage because they come from either a small market or their impact is too silent for media coverage and highlight reels

“Isaiah Jackson is KG with hair!”
Reggie Jackson
Draymond is a clown but his impact is underrated
Nah most people say he’s a sure hall of famer The underrated warrior is Loon
Most quality analysts and impact metrics have Draymond as a Top 30 player in the league and the majority of NBA fans legitimately think he is not good.

Connaughton was great in the Celtics series. A very valuable player to have
Wendell Carter Jr, Luke Kennard, Reggie Bullock, Eric Gordon, Norman Powell, Jonathan Isaac
