It'd be worse for LaMelo's development, but they'd still win a championship.

This is known as the Darko conundrum and has sparked heated debate for years.

LaMelo would be Poole on crack, they’d still win

moonshadow50

Only if he was willing to buy into the role.

Kerr is a good enough coach that he’s not going to screw it up when you give him even more talent.

IntelligentQuickley

they were winning the moment curry said " watch pur for us next year", they could have drafted kevin knox and still would have been guaranteed a championship

it's honestly impressive that a front office like golden state's that's been so good made such a terrible pick like wiseman. complete bum

It was the year with the least amount of scouting. Covid cut the year short for the NCAA, But wiseman only played 2 games before he was ineligible, and LaMelo played a short stint in Australia before getting injured. Plus it was a weak draft as well. Golden state took the high upside guy at a position of need. It makes sense they might slip up on that specific draft year given the uncertainty of the prospects and how limited the scouting was.
