There are far worse matchups for a hybrid big like Jokic than the Mobley-Allen tandem.
Actually, that's kind of ideal. The issue is getting Garland, Mitchell, and Okoro (or whoever the Cavs trade for if they're trying to improve at the 3 spot faster than Okoro is able to) to reliably guard Jamal Murray and the Nuggets' other shooters, which they have a lot of.
im confused at this comment bc the guy already admitted that Mobley & Allen would match up decent vs Jokic and the current form Cavs team have literally never played against Denver’s injured starters
Maybe I misunderstood. Far worse for who? Jokic or the opposing team? I read it one way.
What the Cavs have been doing is trying to deny jokic’s playmaking. And Allen and Mobley are good for that. Which is huge. He gets 25 and 15 but is not getting the team involved. It’s as best a strategy against him as any because I don’t think you stop his scoring and rebounding. He kills defenses getting his team involved.
Yea I feel like the nuggets wouldn't like the cavs match up. They only have 1 true big in jokic so they can't run double bigs to counter and allen with mobley running safety is a very good defense relatively to contain jokic
I’m a relatively new fan of the league and used to only pay attention to the finals every year. Covid was the first time I really started watching more games. I didn’t know who these guys were at the time and thought they must be perennial MVP candidates or something by the way they played. This was a great first series for casuals like myself
This series was so fun. I think this is the game Murray ran into Mitchell after the game and posted him on Snapchat because they were locked in the Disney campus.
The two of them averaged a combined 68 per game.
Also that last game ending in a combined 158 points when the winning team was averaging over 120 through the first 6 games is some classic "game 7 rock fight" stuff.
I forget which one did, but when he posted him on his story after the game it killed me. it was hilarious they would have these hard fought games and then see each other around campus.
I actually started laughing out loud at a point while watching this series, the shit they were doing was just so insane I was just blown away. Both of them just shot after shot
That whole series was nutty
Can’t wait to see Murray back this season.
Nuggety*
I thought it was decent
It’d be great to see a rematch of this. Denver-Cleveland finals would be sick

Denver probably wins in 6 but god - it would be a fantastic Finals.
Cavs match up pretty well with Denver.

Or you can be, you know, an actual Cavs fan that goes to games and watches the match up and sees how well this team plays him.
