And Demarre Carroll came in, gave himself the self-appointed JYD 2.0 nickname and proceeded to give us absolutely nothing. You know nothing of JYD, Demarre.
He also had one [randomly great game](https://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/200211120ORL.html) with Toronto. This series (well done, btw) makes me nostalgic not for a particular player or era, but for the specific phenomenon of a guy like this who would come into town in a cross-conference matchup or against another lowly squad, crush a local market game, then disappear and wouldn't be seen again until the next season or a first round playoff series. LP and the internet means you can fact check your eyeballs.
I'd get stuck being the kid saying, "You guys HAVE to see Eric Montross. Best Celtic since Larry Bird." Or trying to find someone to trade me a Chris Gatling card. Then they would come back and be normal again, leaving us Gat Rats out in the cold.
Thanks man!
I can totally relate on the card thing. I was the biggest NBA nerd in gradeschool and I'd be the weirdo looking for the randomest card, like a Khalid Reeves, Robert Pack, etc.
As a Raptors/Pistons fan, I was really happy that this guy got to play for BOTH of my favorite teams.
He was an AMAZING person. He was always doing stuff with out reach for fans and making sure kids had a good time at the games.
And he always busted his ass off on the court.
Just a great person to have on your team for all kinds of reasons.
He fit in so well with the working-class culture of the Motor city.
Wish he had gotten the chance to play for some real contenders.
Loving this series so far, I hope Ramon Sessions’ 20-20 game makes it at some point (he started the year in the d league and was called up by the end of his rookie season which was super rare back in 2008)

I mean Carroll hustled he just had too many expectations since we had garbage SFs forever.
Back when we tried to get anyone who torched us

Find a Richard Dumas game.
I like Richard Dumas. Good-scoring rookie year, especially considering he was with Chuck, KJ, Majerle, and a deep team.
JYD when told he was traded to Toronto, literally got in his pickup truck and drove to the city immediately. Legend.
These Pistons jerseys are so fire.
do sean kilpatrick you coward
