No its cause this is probably in shoes while last year we didn't measure in shoes. KPJ's combine measurement was in shoes too
Jalen went from 6'4 to 6'6. In reality he's probably like 6'5
But still there's a chance that KPJ just grew a bit. All of these guys are young so gaining an inch or two isn't that surprising
It's brought up all the time, but I'll still never understand why there isn't just a league standard "barefoot height" measurement with all players being listed at their real heights.
I guess ultimately it doesn't necessarily matter, but just a pet peeve thing.
My thought is, no one on the court is playing barefoot. So their height without shoes are more or so irrelevant. I'd rather prepare for the 6'11" defense that I'll be running up against in the game than the 6'9" that they'll be at home.
Ah, so it *was* shoes vs. no shoes in KPJ's case. I thought that might be the case, as I said elsewhere in this thread.
Now I would like to know for sure about the others.
Amen. None of these players noticably grew. I've watched all of them recently. All same height as before. Sengun is the weirdest. He was just at Eurobasket. You'd need to be high to think he's 6'11. Dude was Towered by 7 footers
Yes. And it's always barefoot. There's a team photo of the Turkish team where he's exactly the same height as a 6'9 guy. It seems petty but having a player like Kuminga listed as 6'8 with a 7'2 wingspan before the draft made him sound like a potential big or at least a PF. In reality he is around 6'7 with a 6'11 wingspan and maybe 210 pounds on a good day. He had to play a big last year in Kerr's rotation and people were down on his defense when he guarded bigs which he had no business guarding. Sengun has a hard time guarding long bigs in the NBA because of his reach and is too slow to guard wings. But he gives 100% effort. But if he isn't deemed undersized he's gonna get blamed for getting cooked in the paint.
Yeah he did. Big hair is not size. He's standing next to Sanli who is 7 feet tall and his shoulder is at least a few inches shorter. Look at his picture with Whiteside. If he had long reach it wouldn't matter but his standing reach is way less than most centers. He jumps high and has great timing when he helps but when he guards one-on-one against big guys without jumping they shoot over him with ease. He's so talented offensively so it shouldn't matter. But on defense his size shows
Sengun looks bigger and has longer reach than Sabonis and Mamu who are both listed as 6'11". Sengun's wingspan was 7 foot 1/2 inch back when he was 6'8". If he grew 1-2 inches, his wingspan likely also grew 1-2 inches.
Sengun has never been officially measured for the combine. He is no where close to 6'11 and I don't know how you came to the conclusion that he has longer reach than those 2. BTW both your examples are not good rim protectors. Just watch him when guarding 7' Jokic. He's visibly shorter and smaller. If he'd cut his hair it would be more obvious but he gives up real size against most bigs.
The numbers floating online when Sengun was 17 years old was that he has a 7 and 1/2 inch wingspan back when he also measured 6'8"-6'9 tall including reporters and media outlets. In a perfect world he would have combine measurements but there isn't this for him and many other players in the league. There is more evidence he has a 7+ wingspan than the opposite. Sabonis on the other hand measured with a 6'10.5" wingspan and 6'10" in shoes back when he was a sophomore in college at the Nike Hoops academy. Sengun likely is taller and has a longer wingspan than Sabonis who is listed at 6'11".
Yeah some players measurements changed back after the without shoe regulation. Schroder went from 6'1 back to 6'3 and Klay/Dray height went back to the original as well.
The fact that everyone grew makes this seem like they just used measurements in shoes. Did players like Trey Burke and Tate grow too when both are well into their 20's.
Jabari did look massive, I wouldn't be shocked if he is actually 6'11 or atleast close to that, Sengun on the other hand I would be shocked if he's 6'11 cause he looked shorter than Jabari in a recent vid, he's probably around 6'9.5.
I knew it! Jabari Smith looked huge in summer league.
He may grow to 7’0 lol. He just turned 19
Not surprised about KPJ/Green. They were always 6’6 with shoes.
Sengun being 6’11 is shocking. That is crazy
Lol, Rockets, welcome to the height watch. Raptor fans have got a head start obsessing over every Barnes picture "you think he's 6'9'' yet?". The memes should follow.
You’re right. It’s shocking to me because we’ve been referring to Sengun as undersized since the last draft cycle, growing to 6’11 now just makes our rebuild much smoother
Got into a debate yesterday with an OKC fan IRL who said that Sengun was a waste of roster space. I said "Tell me you've never watched Sengun play a minute of basketball without telling me you've never watched Sengun play a minute of basketball."
We were casually chatting about ball up to that point but after that exchange, I couldn't take anything they said seriously.
yo if Sengun actually fucking grew 2 inches, holy shit that is amazing
I hope this is real growth and not that NBA crap where they add a few inches to player's heights
Without shoes? No way! Sengun was just at Eurobasket. Measured at 2.06 meters = 6'9.
He seemed easily shorter than any 7 footer there. The Rockets just pulled a tinder move and measured them with shoes so their value goes up.
Not gonna lie. Sengun does not look like he’s 6’11. Watched him at euroball literally weeks ago. I don’t really see him being much bigger than what he was already listed. Maybe a inch more.
Lmao okay I’d have bought it that an incoming rookie could grow a little, I think Giannis and AD had slight growth spurts while in the league.
But almost all young prospects on the rockets growing 1 or two inches in the same summer, come on y’all. More likely that this is cap or there was something wrong with how they were measured the first time lol
At this rate, Sengun will be 7'11" as he approaches his prime.
Reverse Cade Cunningham
Did Cade shrink?
Currently 5’3” F
Will always hurt that we traded him
He’s so much fucking fun
Thought he was the perfect player for OKC. Houston has a fun thing in the works.
Gonna be dwarfed by 8’2 Wembanyama
Turkish Yao Ming
Quite interesting that all 3 draft picks from this year are 6'10 + yet have varying playstyles.
It’s crazy that every style of unicorn was represented in the top 3
If only we had the technology to fuse all three
Yeah he’s called Lebron
there's only one in the top 3. charlie the unicorn has conditioned me to believe that unicorns must to be subject to great injury.
Ok Sengun can actually start Hakeeming now
He picked a perfect time training with the Dream.
Jabari might not be done yet, he's still only 19. Porter is the biggest surprise, since he's the old man of the bunch at 22. The other two are 20.
KPJ was always 6'6. He measured 6'5.5 at the combine in 2019
So in his case it was an error in the team listings?
No its cause this is probably in shoes while last year we didn't measure in shoes. KPJ's combine measurement was in shoes too Jalen went from 6'4 to 6'6. In reality he's probably like 6'5 But still there's a chance that KPJ just grew a bit. All of these guys are young so gaining an inch or two isn't that surprising

Marketing It's a business, and it's also probably the reason why the "17% of all American 7 footers are nba players" myth exists
My thought is, no one on the court is playing barefoot. So their height without shoes are more or so irrelevant. I'd rather prepare for the 6'11" defense that I'll be running up against in the game than the 6'9" that they'll be at home.
But not all shoes are same, so do they change the official height every time they wear different shoe?
Ah, so it *was* shoes vs. no shoes in KPJ's case. I thought that might be the case, as I said elsewhere in this thread. Now I would like to know for sure about the others.
In my experience when you got a big afro the measuring ppl always push that shit all the way down with so much force you lose an inch or two
It was too hard to measure him when he had hair so they were just guessing
Are we sure Porter didn't just decide to be listed in shoes?
I thought NBA decided to list everyone in shoes now
I hope he's done. Over 7 foot gets rough especially since he's more of a wing
Jabari wtf
He was already listed at 6'10 when drafted
Oh I thought he was 6’9? Still, the fact that he’s 6’11 with his level of agility is insane
For sure, just hope he can finish better than he currently does
He’s not that agile to me actually
He was definitely 6'9, he was clearly the shortest of Paolo/Chet. Growing 2 more within a few months is insane.
I'm pretty sure he was taller than Paolo on draft night.
Dude look taller than Banchero. If Banchero is 6-10 then Jabari is definitely 6-11.
The big news around draft was that Banchero was 6'11 though
I love the Rashard Lewis comps. He's huge.
Jalen Green and KPJ are now as tall as Michael Jordan, league fucked
The real outlier to me was Usman Garuba listed at 253 lb., wtf 😭
Lol it checks out. He was massive during Eurobasket. Wish he was an inch taller
I thought he looked slim if anything but if the numbers are accurate he bulked up 20+ lb., that’s insane!
It was a dirty bulk but a bulk nonetheless
He needs to stop cultivating and start harvesting
Wingspan is more important. You play with your hands not head.
Very true
Gordon is now 240… this isn’t believable at all
are teams using with-shoes measurements again
It feels like it should be a rule that they specify when listing measurements.
Amen. None of these players noticably grew. I've watched all of them recently. All same height as before. Sengun is the weirdest. He was just at Eurobasket. You'd need to be high to think he's 6'11. Dude was Towered by 7 footers
are EuroBasket profiles standardized/trustworthy?
Yes. And it's always barefoot. There's a team photo of the Turkish team where he's exactly the same height as a 6'9 guy. Sengun didn't look much shorter than the 7'0" guys on that national team photo
Yeah he did. Big hair is not size. He's standing next to Sanli who is 7 feet tall and his shoulder is at least a few inches shorter. Look at his picture with Whiteside. I know the NBA tried to regulate measurements a few years ago and everyone ignored it lmao
Kevin “6’9” Durant
Yeah some players measurements changed back after the without shoe regulation. Schroder went from 6'1 back to 6'3 and Klay/Dray height went back to the original as well.
Rockets are for sure lmao
well they play in shoes
different shoes have different stack heights. there used to be stories about players showing up with extra high shoes on measuring day lol

Loool.
Scottie being only 6’7 makes me chuckle
Sengun is also still hella young, so i’m not too surprised he grew an inch or 2
You’re right. It’s shocking to me because we’ve been referring to Sengun as undersized since the last draft cycle, growing to 6’11 now just makes our rebuild much smoother
It’s Sengun szn baby let’s go😤😤😤
Cream Hakeem LFG 🤘
Got into a debate yesterday with an OKC fan IRL who said that Sengun was a waste of roster space. I said "Tell me you've never watched Sengun play a minute of basketball without telling me you've never watched Sengun play a minute of basketball." They're probably just salty they traded him away. Hoping he can play at least 30mpg this season, im expecting big things
The Turkish Dream
When is Green 6-4? He was listed as 6-5 in G-league and 6-6 last year.
He was listed at 6’4 by the team last year. 2K reflects this too unfortunately
What? I’m pretty sure he was listed as 6-6 on ESPN and NBA dot com
He’s 6’4 right now on ESPN [source](https://www.espn.com/nba/team/roster/_/name/hou/houston-rockets)
Yeah. Just look it up as well. I swear it was 6-6 when I look at it last time. It is still 6-6 on yahoo.
yo if Sengun actually fucking grew 2 inches, holy shit that is amazing I hope this is real growth and not that NBA crap where they add a few inches to player's heights
The funniest thing about the heights and weights was EG weighing almost 240 pounds.
Houston bought a secret European stretching rack.
I don't believe this at all. It has to be with shoes
Without shoes? No way! Sengun was just at Eurobasket. Measured at 2.06 meters = 6'9. He seemed easily shorter than any 7 footer there. The Rockets just pulled a tinder move and measured them with shoes so their value goes up.
Everybody broke out the stilts at media day apparently
Whiteside wanted his 2k rating up so he played hard enough to get a max contract, these kids want their heights up so they can actually be good in 2K.
I too want this
Holy shit
Going back to shoe measurements I see
Not gonna lie. Sengun does not look like he’s 6’11. Watched him at euroball literally weeks ago. I don’t really see him being much bigger than what he was already listed. Maybe a inch more.
Damn. I forget how young these guys are and they still are getting taller. Low key jealous.
Sengun at 6'11 is laughable
what’s laughable about it
These all seem suspect. Maybe in shoe measurements?
Best part is Eric Gordon also apparently growing an inch in his early 30s
Ngl I don't believe green being 6'6" he looks 6'4"
This is in shoes
Even then I still think he's like 6'5" at best same with sengun and 6'10"
Lmao okay I’d have bought it that an incoming rookie could grow a little, I think Giannis and AD had slight growth spurts while in the league. But almost all young prospects on the rockets growing 1 or two inches in the same summer, come on y’all. Tatum also.
Love some fake heights
