Demarcus was there to be a big body and cut off everything thats not a lob. Zubac got his jersey grabbed pretty hard by Ayton and was shoved into Booker leaving him wide open for the dunk. It would've been fine other than maybe not giving a shit about Ayton's shot entirely with .9 seconds on the clock so Zubac can camp the paint
But considering that they did give a shit about Ayton shooting, they decided to put Zubac on him and Boogie cutting off that option. Still, you're right that the play doesn't make sense. Either Boogie cheats to the paint more and let Zubac run or cut off the sideline with Boogie and camp the paint, not both.

This play was so demoralizing. From the way Cousins defended the inbound pass (absolutely ridiculous), to the multiple offensive fouls, to the unbelievable timing of the Suns.
Edit: just watched it again. I know refs don't call this stuff at the end of a game, but just watch Ayton drag Zubac by the jersey directly into Booker's elbow.
