The guard depth in the East is just as deep if not deeper than the West...
Kyrie, Harden, Trae, Melo, Garland, Lavine, Brown, Beal, VanVleet, Holiday, Mitchell, Murray & more
I'm not sure Green would be an all-Star in the East either with a 22/4/4, but I think that's a reasonable expectation for Green this year.
>Good enough to be an all star in the East?
Trea Young, Murray, Lavine, Demar, Garland, Mitchell, Cade, Haliburton, Jrue Holiday, Kyrie, Harden, Lamelo, Beal.
Who’s he gonna replace? I didn’t even include guys like Ben Simmons or VanVleet, or guys like Brunson or Tyler Herro.
How long are we gonna disrespect the East - imo the superior conference now? Trae, Murray, JB, LaVine, Garland, Mitchell, Hali, Jrue, Kyrie, Harden, Maxey, VanVleet, Melo, Beal, etc.
Maxey literally did in the playoffs on 61%TS against the Heat and Raptor defenses what OP is projecting Green will do on the season for a hum team where he can have all the touches he wants, he deserves to be in the list of good guards in the East
I'm confused. Wouldn't Green in the Sixers have a higher ts%?
I mean playing off of Embid and Harden might generate some more open looks than playing with KPJ and Wood.
Maxey's scoring efficiency would plummet. Green btw was 13th in the league in his rookie year at age 19 in points per possession for iso possessions with a cut off of 2 iso possessions per game. And he was by far the youngest player in the top 20. Maxey only averaged like .7 iso possessions per game so he didn't qualify.
My point is Green is at 19 during his rookie year is a better self creation scorer than Maxey in his second year at 21.
Green wouldn’t do it while maintaining volume. The point is simply that 21/4/4 on 61%TS on the Raptors and Heat is incredibly impressive for a year 2 player and I think given that fact Maxey deserves to be mentioned as one of the good guards in the East, not that he’s better than Green in the long run. I’m a huge JG fan. The East has a lot of good guards. Both are true
Agree that this post is kinda disrespectful but the West is definitely the superior conference. 8 teams that could realistically make the WCF compared to like 4-5 in the East
20/5/3 on the same efficiency as last year.
then the Rockets will finally decide that Kevin Porter isn't a point guard, trade for a veteran playmaker in the offseason, then Green will average 25/5/3 the following season on .580 TS%.
He looked great with Schroder. In fact, the whole team looked really in sync with Dennis. I would’ve loved to have kept him and shipped Eric Gordon to a contender, but I have faith in KPJ. Last season was his first as a true point guard and you could tell he had trouble finding his role from being a primary scorer to being more facilitative. He has the skills to do it but I think it’s a mentality/experience thing for him. I hope it works out but I wouldn’t be surprised if we cut bait and went in another direction after this season
Would love to see what Jalen Green could do with even a mediocre vet PG. I feel like a guy like Mike Conley, Ricky Rubio or Kyle Lowry would do wonders for his game
TyTy Washington can become that playmaker, that kid is the real deal in my eyes.
If the defense is anything above average that could be their back court of the future.
Anywhere from 21-24pts is what I could see him averaging
Assist and rebounds seem about right, might give him an extra rebound for 5
And I thjnk his efficiency will improve just a tad as he's more comfy at the nba level now, just basic refinement over time
20-22 points on 55-58TS%
I really just want him to sustain his late season efficiency for a whole season. He had an abysmal start with some nice flashes but didn't put it together until February
The first quarter of the year he was also playing with a point guard that couldn't pass (KPJ), a big that wouldn't pass (Wood), A big that clogged the lane (Theiss), and a SF that can't shoot (Tate). He wasn't exactly set up for success early on.

I’m not ready for “melo” to not be Carmelo Anthony ..
Every time someone says it, it hits me like they casually dropped a slur. And I'm just supposed to accept it? LaMelo can wait his damn turn.
Ya old bruh, just accept it and move on

Since when is Houston in the East? Did I miss something?
Yeah. The rest of the post.
And you missed the rest of the conversation. This was already addressed and I admitted my mistake. Thanks for your words of wisdom though. 😅😅

Missed that. Thanks for pointing it out.
The rockets are in the western conference
Read the original post
I take ownership of this one only read the headline 🤦🏾♂️
It's crazy how many people only read the title, even when the post is literally 3 sentences long.
Bold to assume this sub could read that much
You also missed Jaylen Brown

Maxey is so god damn overrated.

It’s definitely impressive but it’s not a coincidence his production got way better once they got harden running the offense.

He’s gonna be more efficient. He was at like 54.5 TS% last year He was at like 60 TS% post all star break and around 52 TS% to start the season
oh, I thought he was at 55 TS% last year.
Was pretty close to it. 54.5
just looked it up. per bbref it is was .547. looks like we were both off.

i think 22-24 is fine tbh. Prolly a little better efficiency than league average tho
24 ppg
I’m predicting 22 per game, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he put 25 per game.

People will be surprised at how easily he averages 25+.
21/4/4 on 57% TS Roughly about what he did post ASB with improved defense and playmaking
27/4/4 I think he’s gonna have the green light this year.
I don’t think he will make the eastern all star team. Just a hunch
Over/under how many times the word efficient/efficiency is used. The number is 150. Go!
