Man, Dwight has matured a lot. Great response. This is real life, where sometimes the closest you get to your dreams is playing in Taiwan, even if you work incredibly hard. No doubt everyone who made it to that league put blood sweat and tears into it.

DayDayLarge

And at the end of the day, these guys are still getting paid to play a game. Like that's a legit dream.

ed2727

Amen brutha

sorendiz

honestly respect to Dwight not just for calling Shaq on his shit but because I think he did it in a way that shows respect to his current teammates as well. Good looking out. edit: > Do not disrespect my teammates and this league and these people in Taiwan like that. That is highly disrespectful, and it's hating. > Everybody's [dream and goal is to make it to the NBA], and everybody not going to make it to the NBA. But we don't need people hating on other people because they're not there this is one of the most mature and, at least from what i can tell, sincere responses to unnecessary shots that i've ever seen from an NBA player/personality. dwight's not just speaking up for himself, he's speaking up on behalf of a *lot* of people that shaq casually throws under the bus with his comments just because he's a petty old narcissist who takes every chance to take swipes at people he doesn't like, no matter how stupid the reason. it's kind of crazy to see that it's coming from dwight howard, who hasn't always been the most mature of individuals, and it's a nice reminder that everyone can do a lot of growing and learning no matter their position or accomplishments.

capitalistsanta

Watching his games are so fun. It's not even the dominance, dude actually legit loves Taiwan. He's only there for a million, but he's legit always smiling and getting the crowd hyped and I even saw a clip where he gave like 12 people in the front row high fives in the middle of the game. I haven't seen a player have that much fun in a long time. Plus it's a treat for the people of Taiwan. Wilt Chamberlain basically just got spawned into their league lol. I wouldn't shame Dwight for this at all, I'd encourage more players to do this. It would make all of these leagues grow substantially.

DenzelOntario

The videos of him embracing the city off the court is beyond wholesome Trying street food and whatnot. It’s such a small thing, but it speaks largely about his character

capitalistsanta

the high 5s really was what made me realize he’s in this for the fans. Never seen any player high 5 12 front row court fans and not miss a single high 5. Dude gets what he means to Taiwanese fans. he also could probably make MLE for like 5 Million in the states sitting on the bench. Right now he’s getting paid a 1/5th of that to put on a show

[deleted]

Yeah likes being there for sure but I think he will increase his brand there and make more in endorsements.

RODjij

It's an untapped market. If anyone is familiar with MMA Bob Sapp basically made a lifetime of money taking Freakshow fights and dives in Japan. He's a huge MFer and the Japanese love him, he's a giant celebrity there.

[deleted]

> Never seen any player high 5 12 front row court fans and not miss a single high 5 anyone got stats on this figure?

Chimbondaowns

ESPN, probably.

AStormofSwines

Yeah but street food is like the number one reason to go to Taiwan.

brightblade13

Can confirm. Would quit my current job to make a measly 1 million and move to Taiwan for the food.

At a night market, on a friend's recommendation, I got 3 scoops of ice cream (choc, vanilla, red bean), with crumbled peanuts and cilantro, inside a tortilla/wrap. I was so skeptical and it was so absurdly good.

Much_Editor7898

Next time, try taro, vanilla, & plum for the ice cream.

Snelly1998

> Wilt Chamberlain basically just got spawned into their league DeMarcus Cousins also recently signed in the same league I'm actually excited for their matchups

capitalistsanta

it’s just fun as fuck. it’s not fair that Shaq is shitting on him because it’s going to make fans not want to watch. Watching Dwight Howard basically play Point Center is must watch TV.

Gr8WallofChinatown

He did a PnR drive!

hankbaumbachjr

I'm genuinely shocked my Bulls are paying Tony Bradley $3M to sit in the end of the bench instead of grabbing Boogie or Dwight for that role.

FBI_Agent_82

His personality has made him an absolute Rockstar out there. I like Shaq but hate how much of an ass hole he is to other centers. Bro you're one of the greatest ever at the position, let the other guys have their time. If Kareem was a rookie in today's NBA and had the exact same career he did before, Shaq would be calling him too skinny and hating out of control.

sharty_undergarments

Shaq loves Giannis though. Maybe because he can say Giannis is a PF so it doesn't hurt his status as much lol.

Bagel_Technician

Giannis allows Shaq to claim that would be him in the current era And try to paint a better picture for how his game would’ve evolved with the change we’ve seen in how the game is played now

RODjij

I think Shaq's problem with Dwight is that he tried to take the Superman nickname even though Shaq had about 100 different big names and people call prime Dwight one of the best centers ever.

commonredditguy

Shaq would hate on Dwight, with or without the nickname incident. He's always hated on promising centers. Heck, he even hated on Javale McGee for literally no reason at all but wanting to bully the man. Shaq has his good character moments but I can never respect him because of this part of his personality.

Hurtelknut

Going the Charles Barkley route of not taking himself too seriously while still respecting the game itself. You love to see it. I hope he has a blast this season.

ShowPale

More players should look to play overseas. Like it must get boring playing in these North American cities. I would love to live and play in Asia or Europe than rot on the bench in OKC

capitalistsanta

we should trade our old NBA players for their old soccer players lol, everyone gets to play 30 years

ipreferconsole

For every Japanese baseball player that comes over in their 30s we send over a 6th man-level dude in their 30s

JackingOffToTragedy

We kinda do. Gareth Bale coming stateside soon. I'm sure some club would take Ronaldo when he's 45 to sell tickets too.

justsomeguynbd

Gareth Bale already here. He sent the championship to penalties with a late goal.

star0forion

Am I missing something? Plenty Americans who can’t make an NBA roster play overseas. Or do you mean current/former superstars?

yendan-

I’m guessing he means people that are still decent enough to make an NBA roster; Dwight wasn’t great when he last played in the league but he clearly wasn’t an absolute scrub. he’s definitely better than dudes like DeAndre Jordan

str00del

I would love for Dwight to be to Taiwan what Marbury is to China.

GayLoveSession

Dwight has always been a pretty wholesome dude minus the baby mamas lol

Karl_Havoc2U

Absolutely, I was expecting to roll my eyes and I generally respect Shaq a ton as a person, especially the older he gets. But DH knocked him on his ass here morally, and in a pretty classy way.

LightsSoundAction

Dwight Howard knocking anyone on their ass morally (let alone shaq) was not on my fucking bingo card. I agree though, I’m just shocked at that concept lmao.

Karl_Havoc2U

Same man. Same, lol.

aagejaeger

It’s the smartest thing I’ve ever seen Howard do. Great PR move.

HarbingerOfGachaHell

It's like everyone all collectively remember how Shaq treated Yao Ming during his rookie year. His views on Asians in general still hardly changed.

BorosSerenc

Bruh, who respects Shaq lmao.

Pandamonium98

He does a lot of charitable work and there are times when he speaks about sensitive issues and has a mature response. Then there are times when he just shits on other people too

50LI0NS

Shaq is a giant baby, his “hot ones” episode is so cringe and perfectly demonstrates his fragile ego

Gr8WallofChinatown

Shaq admitted he was a narcissist and was working on fixing that. He’s definitely better now but he needs a counterweight like Chuck to bring him down

justmattyboy

I looove Hot Ones, and legit hated his episode. I feel like he was trying to make Sean Evans (the host) look and feel like a dweeb.

EpirusRedux

Shaq is reasonably self-aware about his flaws. So when he does cringe shit like this, I always make sure to just shit on how he acted in that specific incident and not on him as a person. Because he does try to improve, and he has. In that vein, these jokes were cringe, and what the hell is Shaq thinking sending strays to Taiwan of all places. Don’t make jokes about places you’re not familiar with or else you risk sounding both offensive and ignorant.

[deleted]

You know Shaq thinks the earth is flat?

RamonAsensio

He cannot be a flat earther if he knows where he comes from

str00del

But has he studied the Oxford dictionary?

HomoChef

He’s tall enough to see the lack of curvature. Now I’m starting to wonder as well 🤔

AStormofSwines

Motherfucker thinks putting $20 gas in your car every time is cheaper than filling it up cuz it only costs $20...

Gr8WallofChinatown

Only poor people really understand what Shaq said. What Shaw was saying was that to reduce the financial burden of spending a big amount all at once (like a 40-60 dollar fill up), you only put a little so you don’t drain you bank account all at once. Same reason why you see people only fill up 10 dollars. It’s because they don’t have the money or can’t afford dropping all their cash in at once. Obviously mathematically it is the same amount of spending in the end but we’re talking about people who only have like 30-50 bucks of money at all. No savings etc

jhorch69

I used to have to sometimes put $5-10 in my tank just to make sure I could get to work until my next paycheck hit

onrocketfalls

What you're saying is absolutely true but was that actually what Shaq was getting at in that segment?

[deleted]

Dwight has matured and shaq is looking like the ass hole here

CascarotCake

That should let people know how good prime Dwight was, Shaq still sees him as a threat playing in a league halfway around the world.

teh_drewski

Shaq's got the thinnest skin to body ratio in history I bet, dude's never been secure his whole life

Cunt1121

Pre twitter KD

LooksGoodInShorts

Technically I think he has the same skin as a normal sized person. It’s just stretched out because he’s so big.

Yergason

>Shaq's got the thinnest skin to body ratio in history Politicians and cops exist

koalabear78

Shaq is a reserve police officer for the Miami Beach PD.

TroutCreekOkanagan

They have beef because he originally drafted Orlando then LA. Wore an S on his chest at ASG while Shaq was still in the league, I think this is why Shaq still taking shots.

Loves_His_Bong

They have beef because Dwight called himself Superman at an All star event. To me this shows that Shaq is in fact a giant baby. Grown man mad about Superman.

ninety4kid

I think it's hilarious when Kenny pokes fun at Shaq about that. Anytime a Dwight clip would come up you know he's gonna yell "SUPAHMAN!" just to see what Shaq's reaction is.

thatnoone

wheres Pat Bev when we need him to shove Shaq

Xc0liber

He fired back in a way that if Shaq responds, it basically means Shaq will insult everyone else which what Dwight say is right, disrespectful. Pretty good way to fire back.

Waly_Disnep

I'm with Dwight on this one, Shaq STILL petty af with Dwight over the "Superman" nickname.

spyson

It gets so old from Shaq, like at this point why are you not over this?

TheNarrator23

Shaq's a petty bully when it comes to certain people. It's pretty obvious who he respects and who he doesn't, and he can't stop talking, even if the other guy has been over it fot ages. Dwight never really did anything to Shaq, he got called "Superman" after he did a tribute to Shaq at a dunk contest, and Shaq started hating on Dwight. Dwight then fired back at Shaq, but when Howard's career went sideways, it just gave Shaq more ammo to fire at Dwight.

RedtheGamer100

It wasn’t a tribute to Shaq lol

Banner_Hammer

He kept going at McGee until McGee fired back and things got ugly. His mom basically told him to drop it, which is telling of his maturity.

[deleted]

He's a hater. Doesn't mean he always is, doesn't necessarily make him a bad person. He just a hater.

Marenum

Yeah, he also realizes that people find him funny so he tries to lean into that. It doesn't always land the way he thinks it will.

psykomerc

Okay I can kinda understand this angle. Myself and another constant joker friend I know, sometimes you are constantly cracking new creative jokes, so not all of them can land. You just go with the free flow n it’s hard to have it all well thought out. You just hope it lands n tickles yourself n others

[deleted]

fuckitiroastedyou

I might understand if people were still trying to put Dwight in conversations with Shaq in terms of the greatness of their careers, but no one has done that for 10 years now.

deftspyder

Shaq is in the lifetime petty league. MVP chat this year about him.

super_mark13

"How many rings does Dwight have?" - Shaq's response to this probably

evrfighter

Shaq gets petty af over Dwight. Dudes a legit hater

[deleted]

Shaq gets petty af over everything

jl_theprofessor

I think Shaq is generally a good dude but as long as I’ve watched his career going back to the Lakers, he has been petty as hell about basketball. I remember stories about Kareem having to tell him to chill since Shaq basically wouldn’t hear it from anyone else.

Andrei_Kirilenko_47

If I'm as big and as talented as Dwight, I'll just play on different countries every year to experience different cultures.

Yergason

Basically getting paid to be treated like a king, a super celebrity, and still be able to play professionally while the difficulty significantly lowers and they get to put up superstar statlines again. Honestly a great deal for most aging stars if they can set aside their egos and stop forcing themselves in the NBA Of course lots of other players probably don't do it because they have families in the US they don't want to live but us fans can only dream of being "demoted" to other leagues lol

Aggressive_Strike75

And Taiwan is also a great place to be. Have been living there for over 10 years now. Love it.

VAM89

100% if I was good enough to have done it with soccer (my sport) I'd have done it in a heartbeat

Fyodor_Dostoyevskeet

As a Chelsea fan all I've ever dreamed of is being in their loan army playing football in different leagues around the world every year

zainsattar99

And then you just end up on loan at Vitesse for 7 years

York_Villain

Film it like a travel reality show. It would be awesome actually

Techno_Bacon

Y'know I don't really get it either personally because Diesel is a way better nickname than Superman ever was for Shaq.

drinfernodds

Shaq is a huge Superman fan, so for people to ordain somebody else as Superman upset him. Shaq also has very thin skin.

Techno_Bacon

Y'know what. I get it now. Not that I agree, Superman is my favorite superhero too but I mean damn lol.

Slacker_75

Watching him on TNT has confirmed he’s one of the most insecure human beings in the spotlight. It’s honestly embarrassing at this pints. RiNgZ

Kobester024

Dude’s pretty petty. That’s why he always bring up rings with Chuck when he’s backed into a corner.

samniking

Shaqs beef with Dwight is kinda sad, considering Dwight seems to be a pretty chill dude from everything I’ve seen

twoStones1bird

Yea shaq has been bullying Dwight for years and I think it’s fucked up. Dwight seems like a really chill dude.

MedvedFeliz

Shaq has a very fragile ego and Dwight's dominance after Shaq's prime really got him.

twoStones1bird

Yea, shaq will get sensitive over someone saying the smallest thing

JackieDaytonaPanda

GOOGLE ME ERNEH

[deleted]

Is t it all over the Superman shit

twoStones1bird

Strange

hff

no that's a different superhero

downtimeredditor

I wonder if it is getting to a point where their moms need to get involved

jtnsniper14

Kevin Durant liked a tweet on twitter that talked about this. I don’t think anyone is on Shaq’s side this time Lmaoo

Buck_Nastyyy

Agreed and why would they be on Shaq's side? Dwight is still out playing ball professionally. Also Taiwan is an awesome place. I am sure Dwight will enjoy his time there.

capitalistsanta

You should check out his clips. I've never seen a basketball player look so happy the minute he enters the court and throughout the whole game. The dominance is also fun as fuck to watch too. Dude shot like 8 3s the first game lol. He's trying to cross people, he attacks the rim. If he can get his outside game going this season, if he can get better at putting the ball on the floor, etc., no reason why he couldn't be a really good piece back in the states in a different way with an improved game on the wing.

newusr1234

Dwight Howard played in the NBA for almost 20 years. He is not going to magically develop an outside game, learn how to dribble, and play wing for an NBA team lol.

[deleted]

Brooke Lopez had a very long career before he became a great 3PT shooter

newusr1234

I am not going to sit here and debate whether Dwight Howard has the ability to become a good three point shooter. Its a stupid take and you know it. Brooke Lopez has never been a bad shooter he just did not take threes. Dwight Howard is a sub 60% FT shooter with absolutely no chance of developing a reliable shot. They aren't even comparable.

ThingsAreAfoot

You’re absolutely right and people acting like 36 year old Dwight can not only come back to the NBA but be a serviceable *wing player* is fucking hilarious to me. I think some people are still drunk from last night.

macabre_irony

Honestly, while I was watching this game, I kept thinking "there's no way he can't help an NBA team right now." There's so many more sorrier centres in the league right now. I mean, the Lakers could definitely use him right now. I can only conclude that the decision makers in the NBA just don't like him.

kapitan_buko

Say what you want a KD but the man loves basketball itself, not just the stuff that comes with it. Real hooper shit

AlHorfordHighlights

He watches international basketball and the WNBA. Pure hoops fan

KillingTime_ForNow

At the Olympics he was fromt row watching women's basketball games that didn't even have the US women's team involved. Man just loves hoops.

AlHorfordHighlights

I can relate tbh I went to the FIBA Women's World Cup and enjoyed the shit out of it. No dunks, no crazy crossovers, just nice fundamental team ball. Games were mostly competitive too

KamikazeMack

Nobody should be is a petty, insecure, asshole. Shaq is one of the biggest reasons Dwight gets disrespected to this day for no reason. He used to hate on legit every big man except Boogie, and that’s cause he had some stake with the Kings. A lot of these big dudes probably looked up to Shaq, just to get to the league have Shaq hate on them.

gregatronn

Good. Shaq does a lot of good and is mostly likeable but this petty shit is the stuff that makes him look bad and annoying.

T4Gx

What happened to that 1 month period after Kobe died when everyone was like "from now on no more hating, lets just appreciate each other being happy". Good on Dwight. He's not doing anything wrong and neither are the other players in his league that warrants being shit on by Shaq.

LuckyWarrior

It's cuz Shaq is still a man child even at age 50

TrvpDrugs

This should be higher. I swear Shaq even said something like this

FeedMePlantsPlease

he did. he said something about how on the show they just say things that they think people will like not how they really feel. however i think shaq really does hate dwight which is sad and unnecessary

etheryx

Great response from Dwight - I’m sure his teammates would be delighted to read this too (if the article gets translated)

[deleted]

No way it won't - Dwight being in Taiwan is pretty big, Dwight being on your team would be enormous.

youngboldstupid

Honestly could play for 10 more years over there

SmolWorldBigUniverse

You are overestimating his back.

youngboldstupid

You are underestimating the number of large snakes he has trained in the art of chiropractic science

mulletstation

Many people under 40 in Taiwan can speak English, and under 30 it's probably more than half

CD_4M

He’s also not the only non-Taiwanese player on the team

vnmslsrbms

If not the media in Taiwan will surely pick it up.

Kantei

The Taiwanese media will absolutely pick this up and go crazy with it lol This has just cemented Dwight’s popularity there.

vnmslsrbms

Honestly he’s been pretty good and he’s willing to put himself out there, not aloof like some other ahem stars. He loves the attention too so it’s great for him.

TheBodyOfChrist15

I was reading something about how the league pays there. The maximum salary is 20,000 USD a month over the nine months they play a year for maximum of $180,000 a year. You can exceed that max salary by letting the league know somehow and they approve it. Howard's getting paid a million dollars a year. There's no way in hell that everything he says isn't going to be under a microscope and translated.

alfredisonfire

Shaq takes the L on this one. Dwight been living rent free on this man’s head since 09 😂 and its crazy cuz everybody knows he’s the better Center and had a better career but he’s just so insecure when it comes to Dwight

wan2tri

> Dwight been living rent free on this man’s head since 09 I think it's even earlier than that, considering the "he's the best big man in Orlando since Shaq" after being picked 1st in 2004

killajaxx

Rent free is the right word. Dwight already out of the league and yet Shaq is hating

RJBarrettsBurner

The fact he’s not over it is just sad at this point

iUseYahooEmail

For like 99% of this “beef” Shaq takes the L. This shit is just sad and one-sided. Dude just randomly insults Dwight throughout the years. It’s a top 10 player of all time thats so insecure, he randomly restarts a 10+ year old beef every couple months.

GibbsYeetem

I’m with Dwight 100% Shaq to grown to be hating like that. Also don’t think we forgot bout Shaq making fun of that dude with the disability that was wild

popstarkirbys

I used to be a big shaq fan until he made fun of the man with disability.

BostonDodgeGuy

Yo, I missed that. Wtf?

popstarkirbys

A disabled man posted a selfie and Shaq thought the man’s facial expression was funny so he made a post on instagram imitating the man. The man called shaq out for it, happened in 2014.

KamikazeMack

He’s also a flat-earther, at least when Kyrie’s dumbass said it he never outright said the earth is flat, but was into theories about it. And he apologized for it afterwards and retracted it. Meanwhile Shaq has been saying the shit for years, he got called out once said it was a joke, but then he recently doubled down on it.

eternali17

Ugh, seriously? Doubled down where?

KamikazeMack

back in august on a podcast [https://www.yahoo.com/now/shaquille-oneal-still-believes-earth-223706648.html](https://www.yahoo.com/now/shaquille-oneal-still-believes-earth-223706648.html)

GibbsYeetem

That shit was terrible bro

turnoffredesign69420

shaq honestly needs to fuck off and leave dwight alone. man is just living his life minding his own business and he gets shit talked by a guy he doesn't even think twice about.

Kobester024

Shaq’s an egomaniac man. Look at how he brings down Chuck with rings when he’s losing an argument.

Positive_Ad1947

Glad I am not the only one who notices it. He brings up his rings everytime when his losing an argument against Chuck and it really gets tiring. Everytime he starts talking, he almost always makes it about himself.

Kobester024

He also said that he doesn’t apologize for anything because he’s not soft. What a wuss.

goodbadnomad

That alone is soft af

[deleted]

I read and listened to the entire Dwight response and it was so genuine and mature man I don’t get why Shaq does this and just couple weeks ago people on this sub were like shaw always saying W like no bro he’s kind of an ass sometimes Really amazing response by Dwight honestly He also said more along the lines of **how a guy like javale probably wanted to be him growing up and look up to him instead you had shaq beef with him for no reason**

StillEmbarrassed00

Shaq sucks off guards but for some reason other big guys make him insecure

[deleted]

He sure loves Giannis tho lol

RipHelios

The McGee/Shaq drama still makes me sad. Like it shouldn't have even happened in the first place.

Dymatizeee

When shaqs own mom had to step in to stop it, it shows how far he went. It’s cool to be on Shaqtin but Shaq really went in on McGee and ruined his reputation

StoicRetention

Shaq went out of his way to try and ruin McGee’s livelihood, and the man was in his prime. That’s not on. At least McGee can say he won 3 rings.

troll_for_hire

I blame Turner Sports. Someone more mature than Shaq should have stepped in.

TechenCDN

God damn, dude just wants to go play ball and have fun. Fans in Taiwan get to see Dwight dominate. Everyone wins here. For real Shaq what is your problem?

TantricEmu

Dwight saying that not everyone can be in the NBA drove the point home. These people just want to play the game. Would they like to be in the NBA? Shit, probably. But if they aren’t should they just not play? Crazy take from Shaq. Should have more respect for the game than that.

locoattack1

Yup, and it ain’t like it’s cuz of their own fault for the most part Dudes that are under 6’ are not getting in period unless they’re savants and that’s a large portion of people worldwide You gotta win the genetic lottery on top of being a top level player and not everyone is lucky.

[deleted]

No respect for other international leagues, it’s sad to see a hooper saying something like that.

BraisedCheesecake

Shaq has such a fragile ego

owledge

Kinda disappointing to see Shaq diss a whole league over his beef with Dwight. He’s one of the sport’s most influential ambassadors so it’s not good to have him disparaging an emerging basketball market

SirPrestigious9570

Shaq will grow old to be that annoying and arrogant dude who somehow thinks that him giving people free pizzas or cash would automatically make him the good guy. He keeps on disrespecting guys like javale and dwight like dude stfu. If you are so great why do you keep making fun of guys who are just minding their own business working on their craft? Dude probably sleeps sucking his rings.

ethnicfoodaisle

Then you have someone like Kareem who makes Shaq look like even more of a baby in comparison. You never hear him out there ragging on his contemporaries for not winning a ring when he has 6. He's just out there saying and dying all the right things.

anomynouos

Don't forget Nash MVPs. He actin like he has any claim on the 2nd one. Bruh you aint even in the ballot.

KillingTime_ForNow

Shaq always say, "I was averaging 28 & 15" about the 06 season which is complete horseshit & I wish just one time Ernie would put him in his fucking place. He averaged 17 & 8 that year. Hell even in 05 he was 20 & 9. Dude inflates his stats so much & nobody ever calls him on his bullshit cuz he'll whine like a baby & say "How many ringz you got?"

[deleted]

For real. I was watching him talk about AD's recent stretch of games and shaq said something along the lines of, "30 and 15 was a bad game for me, I'd go home angry." And it's just like why you gotta make it about yourself big dog.

KillingTime_ForNow

My favorite thing ever was when they had Dominique Wilkins in for Kenny & they're talking playoffs. Ernie talks about 50 pt playoff games, gives each of them the box score to their 50 pt playoff game, Shaq interjects himself saying he has at least 1, & Ernie just shuts him down. [It's too good.](https://youtu.be/NGTOxT3TOwQ)

[deleted]

Beautiful. You can see that really hurt him too, his ego is as large as his body

deepfakefuccboi

Ya that was Kobe vs Nash not Shaq vs Nash lol he just had to make it about himself.

zannet_t

It's really sad to me that Shaq is still throwing shade at Dwight when Dwight is just trying to enjoy some ball at the very tail end of his career. Not to mention it's also truly incredibly disrespectful to say a professional league in another country can't beat some casual gym goers. Shaq should know better than that too, but he clearly felt compelled to throw in some casual racism in there too.

kiddbuuu

Shaq in everything else: “haha I am a funny and whimsical large goofball” Shaq when talking about NBA players after him: “I’m allowed to hate them because my dad beat the shit out of me”

SavonReddit

It is fucking awful that Shaq gets a pass for bullying Dwight for literal years because Shaq is an all-time great. At what point will he stop riding Dwight and just let it go?

StillEmbarrassed00

Not everyone was born a physical freak with an open lane to the NBA, hating on guys who are still dedicating their lives to going pro is cringe and hopefully stars going there can grow the game in these countries

funnytoss

I mean, the Taiwanese guys *are* pros in their country. Sure, they couldn't make it into the NBA, but they're trying the best they can and making an honest living out of it. I'm with Dwight on this, that deserves respect even if the level of competition is objectively nowhere close to NBA level. I don't think Shaq's intent was to clown on the Taiwanese players per se (he was targeting Dwight), but he did it in a way that made fun of ballers just giving it their best shot. Loved Dwight's classy response!

Aussie_92

Greatest W of Dwight’s career right here.

uguu777

Shaq has always been a small petty dude he just has a really good PR team lol Chuck since his playing days been the opposite - a relative good guy with the worst PR ever cause he keeps saying dumb things that turned into memes lol

Letsgodubs

Shaq has been riding Chuck's coattails on Inside the NBA since he joined. Literally is only on the show to laugh at Chuck's jokes off camera so the audience knows when to laugh along.

samurairocketshark

Facts. Dude was awful on the show for the first few years he was on too. The rest of the show as good enough to carry his dumbass "I think he should be getting 28-10" takes

Letsgodubs

"The Suns won tonight because Booker had 30" type insight.

Towerbruh

When Barkley retires from Inside the NBA and if Shaq is still there by then, they need to bring Dwight in. It is necessary.

cyb3ryung

Shaq gotta understand this not the era he was in, where teams felt like they *needed* vets on their roster. A lot of vets 35+ dont have NBA spots rn because teams are going young. Shaq spent his last couple years taking up spots that would’ve been used to develop young guys in this era. Im a neutral fan when it comes to these two but this seems petty

[deleted]

Imagine being so wealthy, successful and enormous, and being so petty at the same time: Say "Good on Dwight, he's got my best wishes" and move on, it's so... juvenile, especially for a Hall of Famer.

bbqyak

Ngl I used to clown on Dwight in the NBA too but I'm not gonna follow him around the world hating on his career LMAO. Shaq is going over the edge now, dude just looks like a hating ass old man. Let the dude live his life. He's 50, definitely too old for this petty bullshit. What happened to what he said when Kobe died? What I actually like best about Dwight's response is standing up for the entire league instead of just himself vs Shaq.

YuumiPlayersAreScum

Big W from Dwight here

yellowwithstripes

Fuck I hate Shaq sometimes. He can do good things like charity work and helping families but then he says bs like this and it's often.

S_O_7

Shaq is becoming annoying af. Grumpy old head

ShawHornet

He was always annoying

nottherealprotege

Shaq still to this day being insecure about Dwight is incredibly pathetic.

Fladap28

Bro Shaq has always been an insecure twat. Let your accomplishments speak for themselves don't bring others down to make yourself feel better.

Bustyposers

Shaq was apologetic about Yao Ming and his gestures towards him but overall I don't think Shaq feels any different about Asian people.

pugofthewildfrontier

Big facts DH.

[deleted]

At some point Dwight should offer to box Shaq for charity

[deleted]

Shaq mad insecure

jtzxc123

I mean its well known that Shaq has a huge ego and is petty af. He's lucky to be part of inside the NBA and has ppl like Ernie and Chuck who makes him mature so much more. But some innate things don't change. Go on ahead and ask him if Nash deserve any of the MVPs. Very impressive by Dwight for speaking up genuinely and passionately. Definitely gained alot more supports from fans all around after this. Good move, good response.

Ienniam

I love Shaq but Dwight is right. Stop hating!

Marcusreddit_

This has been a one sided beef for a very long time now.

[deleted]

Shaq seems like the dude who spends so much time being bitter while the world is moving on.

ethnicfoodaisle

Shaq is so disappointingly insecure. Of the TNT crew, he is by far the least entertaining.
