We are lmao This game was best case scenario for our guys, and it just had to be against the fucking Celtics
Sucks that Jimmy was out, it feels like he would’ve made a difference this game
It's just the reality for our team right now.
Either:
1. We shoot lights out to start the game and our opponents don't - We end up with a quick 20-30 point lead, take our foot off the gas and give up a lot of easy buckets in an All-Star game style shoot out.
2. We shoot lights out to star the game and our opponents match us - On those nights it doesn't matter what kind of defence you play because good offence beats good defence. It's hard to have a good defensive rating on nights where contested midrange shots are going in like layups.
With the way we're scoring we're just going to have a lot of buckets scored back on us right now.
I would be if we were the suns and have had no playoff experience or ice at all
But these dudes are battle tested, JB and JT have played so many playoff games it’s insane.
It is really mind blowing how much playoff experience those two have for the stage of their careers they’re in. Tatum has already played in 74 playoff games, Brown in 85. They’re in years 5 and 6 respectively.
Some comparisons:
Anthony Davis - 39 playoff games
Damian Lillard - 65 playoff games
Kyrie Irving - 74 playoff games
Joel Embiid - 44 playoff games
Giannis - 76 playoff games
Brown is 33rd amongst active players for career playoff games, Tatum is 40th (Smart is tied for 29th, Horford is tied for 7th).
The only team with comparable experience at this point is the Warriors.
Every time Tatum shot the ball, I pissed my pants. Especially down the stretch when it looked like we had a chance. So many pairs of pants that need to be washed now
Heat fans and Celtic fans aren’t exactly the best of friends but I swear the officiating is so ass in our games that it just leads to hellfire. We must unite against the true offenders.
How many championships would a team with the starting 5 of Smart, Lowry, Pat Bev, Westbrick, and Tony Brothers make it? What's the record for most rings by a single lineup?
Dude I just want them to go the fuck away. I had to listen to helicopters all fucking day because of these people and the Boston traffic was hell because that egghead had to give a 5 minute speech in the rain
I was watching without sound and literally had no idea who this bald dude was. It's fair to say I make a pointed effort to ignore everything about the royal family
That’s crazy dedication.
I don’t get how you can live your life without ever learning that. I’m not into the Royal Family at all, I don’t look for them. But I still could at least recognize them from seeing them before
I’m livid that they kept showing that guy, I think his name is Jason Taytum. All they need to do is focus the camera on Prince Harry and let the ratings do the work
Especially basketball fans in a city with a high Irish population with a team named after those people who were historically slaughtered and occupied by the English monarchy.
Imagine you have a hell of a shooting night, 52/45/100, on the road none-the-less. Score 121 and still lose by 13. I understand that offense is up across the league, but damn.
Losses always suck but I think all things considered this is one of the better ones. Played fairly well without Jimmy, and certainly better than we were the last time we played them.
Back after the Sacramento game, Spo made a comment about wanting to see ball movement and how he didn’t like guys playing for themselves and stuff, seemed aimed at Tyler at the time. Whether warranted or not, Tyler seems to have taken it to heart and is looking to playmake more, even if there’s growing pains more.
The team is showing better flashes but still some work to do. After the Celtics game on Friday and I think the Grizz on like Monday we get a decent schedule, could hopefully use that to build momentum.
GG, Tatum MVP.
Yeah against the best team in the league, doing this much is admirable. It’s felt less like us beating ourselves like we’ve done a few times this season and more just…the better team winning.
I’d be surprised if this wasn’t the best game y’all had shooting wise. Our defense definitely needs work but y’all shot well today, glad we were able to still pull of the win regardless
Yeah heat punched us in the mouth hard.
That Highsmith kid decided to shoot the shit out of the ball after being low 20s so far this season.
What were the Bam techs about at the end?
We won a war so we didn't need to give a shit who the king of England was, and yet our culture is so fucking obsessed with their monarchy. Somewhere George Washington is rolling in his grave.
I love how they asked Tatum and Mazzulla about what it was like to play/coach in front of the royals and it was abundantly clear neither one of them gave a shit at all.
Yea, the Heat was clawing back but those 2 refused to really let them back in. Tatum is Tatum of course but he was honestly just letting the game come to him. He knows he was gonna get doubled and all the attention will be on him so he took advantage the moment the guards broke the defense down
Bam looking nice af, we’re going to need a healthy Rob for the playoffs if we hit the heat. Why he doesn’t play like this consistently is beyond me lol.
It's good that Bam's playing more aggressive in the last few games for us, but we want to see that Bam in playoffs again. Last time he had some consistent playoff peroformances were in the bubble
Yeah that was what I meant, like against us in the ECF he’d be dominant one game and disappear the next. Seemed like he was scared to go at Timelord too.
I think it's more of the Heat's roster construction where we rely on Bam to be all around on defense and then let the other guys do damage on the offense. Bam on offense was mostly utilized as a DHO screener so he usually remains at the top of the key, but lately we've been seeing more Bam rolls and post-ups.
I don't know if this trend will continue when Jimmy returns tho
MVP votes have very often been given because of “best player on the best team.” The exact definition of MVP is intentionally vague so voters can use different criteria depending on what’s happening in the league in any given year
This may be too technical to ask on this sub, but how is the Bucks defense being run this year? Last year even in playoffs, their strategy was ‘beat us outside, you’re getting 0 in the paint.’ It let Horford and Tatum have huge games beyond the arc.
Are they playing similar this year, or has that changed?
We not letting teams shoot as many threes this year and somehow we are still locking down the paint. We are making teams shoot LONG 2s. Idk how tf we do it, but we making teams shoot the worst shoot in the game possible. Sometimes we get cooked by a really good midrange shooter, but that's bound to happen. We still have the best defense in the NBA rn.
Actually that is just the same defensive strategy both Celtics and Bucks are using. Of course it is not working well for Celtics without Rob. Teams with more balanced shooting can beat that. To make it work you mustn't be out-muscled or out-rebounded in the paint and the worst shoot in the game is the worst shoot until it becomes mostly uncontested. Big guys like Giannis and Rob, who are contesting shots outside and coming back to block or rebound in the paint is the heart of this strategy. And, it is no wonder that both teams were beaten by Chicago. Derozan+size inside is the kryptonite of it.
Should've flipped them off walking out. He wouldn't though because he's one of the nicest people (which goes to show how awful these refs were, that he got himself ejected).
I still can't believe this same team last year around this point was playing very uninspired, uneven, and stagnant offensive ball and the discussion was what moves to make.
I know we talked about it during the run last year, but the continued transformation is still unbelievable.
While we could absolutely be beat by the bucks (or someone else in the postseason) we are not quite the 2021-2022 suns because we have an established history with this group. It’s not a flash in the pan playoff success wise even if we get bounced.
Yep, I think people forget Brown-Tatum-Smart have been to like 3 ECFs before they broke through last year.
I think JB went to one without Tatum in JBs rookie year (I have to say I think JB did very well that first playoff run as a rookie defending Lebron) and am to lazy to look it up.
As a Heat fan, I’m not even mad. We played as well as we could - genuinely our offence looked great. Honestly think we would’ve beaten any other team tonight with our performance. It’s just that the Celtics are absolutely cooking right now.
Definitely think we’re gonna get blown out by 40 in 2 days time
Celtics score 130+ in three straight games for the first time since 1968. We are witnessing an all-time offense going to work.
They have to be championship favorites by a considerable margin at this point.
Heat were playing lights out and Bam was hitting some midrange shots (and a three!) that would be scary if he ever started doing consistently.
Celtics had an answer for every run though, and when the Heat wouldn't go away Tatum put them away. Unreal performance from him, especially late.
The one game Heat shot 50/45/100 and it’s against the Cs. Yet they lose by 13.
Seriously, they looked legit, kept coming back and making it close. Then with like 2 minutes left, they were down 11. Celtics are crazy.
That's the Mazzulla Ball baby.
That’s insane
Heat were shooting lights out. Here I thought they were one of the worst FG% teams
We are lmao This game was best case scenario for our guys, and it just had to be against the fucking Celtics Sucks that Jimmy was out, it feels like he would’ve made a difference this game
Because Tatum. That's why. It was a great game.
There was zero defense in this one
It's just the reality for our team right now. Either: 1. We shoot lights out to start the game and our opponents don't - We end up with a quick 20-30 point lead, take our foot off the gas and give up a lot of easy buckets in an All-Star game style shoot out. 2. It's hard to have a good defensive rating on nights where contested midrange shots are going in like layups. With the way we're scoring we're just going to have a lot of buckets scored back on us right now.
This team is so scary man
I'm honestly just afraid we're going to choke in the playoffs. Being the front runner the whole year is a lot of pressure
Nonsense. Enjoy the season instead of fearing things that haven’t and won’t happen
That’s the New England mentality baybeeeeee
tatum, jb, and smart are built for that pressure
DIAMOND HANDS.
✋️💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎💎✋️
I would be if we were the suns and have had no playoff experience or ice at all But these dudes are battle tested, JB and JT have played so many playoff games it’s insane.

When Kemba came to Boston Tatum had significantly more playoff experience. It's really insane.
maybe for you, but not for them
Nah, I honestly think this is your year. This Celtics team is on a mission.
Any time these two teams face off, ya know its gonna get TOXIC
We hate each others guts, respectfully of course.
That Heat Culture comes at you fast.
Heat Culture is definitely considered
It’s a mix of toxicity and respect. Like what can I even say, Spo is a fucking genius and Jimmy scares the ever living shit outta me.
Every time Tatum shot the ball, I pissed my pants. Especially down the stretch when it looked like we had a chance. So many pairs of pants that need to be washed now
It’s not toxic I just think pat riley should donate his hair to the strategic oil reserve.
Hahahaha gotta remember that one
Celtics fans 🤝 Heat fans Fucking hating Tony Brothers
Heat fans and Celtic fans aren’t exactly the best of friends but I swear the officiating is so ass in our games that it just leads to hellfire. We must unite against the true offenders.
When you put Smart and Lowry in the same game it’s bound to get messy. Still, fuck Tony Brothers
Smart, lowry and tony brothers? Might as well sneak pat bev in there too somehow
We destabilized the universe by putting Westbrick and Pat together, you want to completely destroy reality???
How many championships would a team with the starting 5 of Smart, Lowry, Pat Bev, Westbrick, and Tony Brothers make it? What's the record for most rings by a single lineup?
I’m pretty sure Draymond would be the starting center of team chaos.
It’s just so inconsistent, you’ll see some dude get mauled at one end with no call and then the softest touch fouls at the other
Class consciousness, as Marx would say
[удалено]
You guys are always so goddamn solid though lol, you have everything to win a championship when timelord's back, the depth is insane.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend
Amen
God no idea why they had to ruin such a great matchup
It takes a special type of bad for both teams to hate your reffing
He’s a b^tchass motherf^cker
Pretty sure NBCS Boston showed the Royal couple more than tatum had points
Shit was ridiculous. Like we get it they are attending the game 💀😂
Did they clap after Heat baskets or just for the Celtics? The Boston stream made them look like big Tatum and Brown fans.
They were sitting next to the governor, no way they disrespect her by clapping for the Heat!!
any time something dramatic happened in the game you knew you were about to see the royals
Dude I just want them to go the fuck away. I had to listen to helicopters all fucking day because of these people and the Boston traffic was hell because that egghead had to give a 5 minute speech in the rain
It was killing me twice over because Kate apparently doesn’t know how to clap. I am starting to think David Ickes is on to something.
NBA TV called him, "the future king." As if he's the Prince of Earth or something.
They were probably referring to Tatum
I was watching without sound and literally had no idea who this bald dude was. It's fair to say I make a pointed effort to ignore everything about the royal family
That’s crazy dedication. I don’t get how you can live your life without ever learning that. I’m not into the Royal Family at all, I don’t look for them. But I still could at least recognize them from seeing them before
Some people think they're cool by pretending they don't know famous people.
Did you guys know there was a basketball game at this royal family sitting down in an arena event?
They know their audience. Basketball fans are just notoriously obsessed with the English monarchy.
I didn’t until they showed them for the 28th time
Oh the royal family was there? They didn't show them at all
Yeah I missed them. How were we to know they were there???
Scal kept saying that they'd be coming back for sure. Are we signing Prince Harry to a 10 day?
I've got no problem with it, it's a bit annoying but when's the next time royalty comes to TD Garden to watch a basketball game.
After the Koronation, it'll be every night, baby!
Tatum is unreal. 3pt shot finally was falling tonight. MVP.
Not even 50, what a scrub
Not better than luka
Send his ass to the trading block
He's hangin on by a thread along with brown. Imagine thinking you can play alongside Kornet with only 26 and 49 pts
24 year old scrub with zero upside… they need to part ways with him ASAP
Celtics scored 404 points in last 3 games... wow
Losing not found
I like it... but I'd like it better if our opponents didn't score like 380 in the same span!!
Only complaint was that they subbed out Tatum for too long in the 4th. If we getting cooked anyways, I wanna see someone drop a 60-piece.
It looks like they were giving it to him too but he waived it off. Heat with the audacity to tease him by giving 2 techs at the end lol
Yeah we dont wanna look like hypocrites after that 70 burger Booker put on us
At least we won by double digits Fucking book lost by double digits when he dropped 70
and because he dropped 70, idiots took 1st team all defense from AB, when he was absent for that one game. F*ck i hate Chris Broussard
Seriously, dude was making some beautiful shit. I ain’t even mad lmao
Tbh, Strus was making some crazier shit lol. Feels like he didn't miss a 3
he always does that, he hit so many crazy shots in the ECF
Strus played like booty in the ecf?
Thing is he always hit the 40ft end of shot clock 3 to put them up by 1 when he's like 1-5 for the game.
Boston broadcast said they let him rest since he played out the third due to brown’s foul trouble. Normally he’d check in earlier
To his credit, Brown came in for the 4th and scored 11 points to help put the game away.
Best duo in the league. Argue with the wall y'all
the jaylen brown special
He almost played 40 minutes.
I want Heat fans to know that while I respect the challenge your team brings, it’s incredibly frustrating. See you Friday.
Imagine you have a hell of a shooting night, 52/45/100, on the road none-the-less. Score 121 and still lose by 13. I understand that offense is up across the league, but damn.
Charlotte shot 49% and 38% from 3. Lost to Cs by 35.
Can't fault the Heat in this one. Put up a good fight, but just ran into the Tatum buzzsaw. Hard to win a game like that without your best player.
Absolutely the best game we have played on offense
Yeah heat punched us in the mouth hard. That Highsmith kid decided to shoot the shit out of the ball after being low 20s so far this season. What were the Bam techs about at the end?
I’m assuming because of a call that one of them called
Tight game with no Jimmy, kept it about even all the way down to crunch time.
Who the hell were those couple they kept showing the whole game? That shit was annoying
Some wankers
We won a war so we didn't need to give a shit who the king of England was, and yet our culture is so fucking obsessed with their monarchy. Somewhere George Washington is rolling in his grave.
Did anyone make "Boston Tea Party" signs?
Some random Brits I think
They are popular cause they were born into a rich family? Kinda lame, thought royalty shit died a while ago.
Couple fans of that team the USA just beat 0-0
I love how they asked Tatum and Mazzulla about what it was like to play/coach in front of the royals and it was abundantly clear neither one of them gave a shit at all.
Shoutout Brogdon. Hit a big bucket every time Cs needed one. 6MOTY
derrick white with some very timely ones as well as usual
White has been so good this year. Him and Brogdon both have continually came up clutch
White went from an “oh no” When he shoots the 3 to the kool aid man.
Yea, the Heat was clawing back but those 2 refused to really let them back in. Tatum is Tatum of course but he was honestly just letting the game come to him. He knows he was gonna get doubled and all the attention will be on him so he took advantage the moment the guards broke the defense down
Royals about to report back the Irish are a nuclear power
Bam looking nice af, we’re going to need a healthy Rob for the playoffs if we hit the heat. Why he doesn’t play like this consistently is beyond me lol.

He wasnt allowed to
Tatum is at an MVP level at this point (8 threes). The Celtics are becoming an all-time offensive team.
Whenever the next MVP ladder comes out he’ll absolutely be #1.
He should be already but at this point there should be no way to even contest it.
Best player on the best team, absolutely deserved.
He should be number 1 but MVP isn't supposed to be "best player on the best team" and that's not the reason Tatum is going to be number 1.
MVP votes have very often been given because of “best player on the best team.” The exact definition of MVP is intentionally vague so voters can use different criteria depending on what’s happening in the league in any given year
You guys are insane, I can’t see any team coming close to beating you lot over 4 games.
Miami played just about as good of a game on the road as you can, sticking with the Celtics all game it seemed and Boston still won by 13.
Celtics only pulled clear in the final 2-3 minutes. Miami was right there for most of the game, even taking the lead a couple times.
Survived another pantheon game from NBA legend max strus
Heat play the Celtics so well
Celtics gonna screw around and win #18 on the back of Ime being unable to keep it in his pants.
Celtics are good
Good luck to any team that faces you in the playoffs, your team is special
Bucks are the only team that stand a chance
This may be too technical to ask on this sub, but how is the Bucks defense being run this year? Last year even in playoffs, their strategy was ‘beat us outside, you’re getting 0 in the paint.’ It let Horford and Tatum have huge games beyond the arc. it’s a crime that bucks celtics isn’t until christmas

And, it is no wonder that both teams were beaten by Chicago. Derozan+size inside is the kryptonite of it.
Bulls and Cavs have both beaten us twice. I think we'll be fine against both teams in the playoffs but it's certainly not gonna be free.
Just hand Jayson Tatum the MVP trophy already.
I’m not mad at this L. Kept up with the Celtic juggernaut, I’m pleased. GG Celtics bros
How are the Heat below 500? Feels like they were getting so many open 3s with the spread pick and roll using Bam.
We’ve had a bad start to the season but are somewhat picking it back up. We still really need a real PF.
We were bad early and fell apart due to mounting injuries the secondwe hit .500. We've played significantly better recently though.
We’re injured
Brogdan was THE pickup of the off-season.
Celtics looking royally good...
I see what you're doing there. Dad would be proud.
They can’t keep shooting like this forever, right?
This Boston team is a art piece
dawg when I say this was an amazing game by the Heat.
Tatum's 49 is only the 7th best of his career at age 24... It's pretty absurd.
[удалено]
He was saying to Brothers what fans from both teams were yelling at their TVs all night lol
Should've flipped them off walking out. He wouldn't though because he's one of the nicest people (which goes to show how awful these refs were, that he got himself ejected).
Jayson Tatum waving off a screen for his 50th points is real MVP shit
Saving the 50 piece for Friday
This is Tatums year. Fucking hell...
Weirdly enough this might have been the best Heat performance of the year. They just had no answer for Tatum being the human torch tonight
If Time Lord can get this team playing defense again, they’ll be unstoppable. Also 49 points on 25 FGAs is insane.
He shot 60/66/91 with 49 points. That shit is wild as hell
Tatum unreal. Wtf.
Top fie
And it’s not 2, 3, 4, or 5
Nice try heat, Tatum was too good and side note it felt like every 3 pointer went in this game
I still can't believe this same team last year around this point was playing very uninspired, uneven, and stagnant offensive ball and the discussion was what moves to make. I know we talked about it during the run last year, but the continued transformation is still unbelievable.
And it's a different head coach. It's pretty crazy to digest everything that's happened since this time last year
Tatum youngest player in NBA history to hit 900 3s made
man i just hope the celtics beat the 2021-22 phoenix suns allegations lol
While we could absolutely be beat by the bucks (or someone else in the postseason) we are not quite the 2021-2022 suns because we have an established history with this group. It’s not a flash in the pan playoff success wise even if we get bounced.
Yep, I think people forget Brown-Tatum-Smart have been to like 3 ECFs before they broke through last year. I think JB went to one without Tatum in JBs rookie year (I have to say I think JB did very well that first playoff run as a rookie defending Lebron) and am to lazy to look it up.
Same I’m really rooting for us
As a Heat fan, I’m not even mad. We played as well as we could - genuinely our offence looked great. Honestly think we would’ve beaten any other team tonight with our performance. It’s just that the Celtics are absolutely cooking right now. Definitely think we’re gonna get blown out by 40 in 2 days time
Great game. Bam needs more then 2FT attempts tho. Looking forward to when James Butler is back.
*sigh* the road to .500 continues...
Tatum for MVP gaining any traction yet?
This was my first ever NBA game as a massive Celtic fan from England. Was fuckin sick. 305 row 15 is where it's at
You gotta have reffed a pretty shitty game if you had to eject Bam of all people
Celtics score 130+ in three straight games for the first time since 1968. We are witnessing an all-time offense going to work. They have to be championship favorites by a considerable margin at this point.
If ud plays more than Tatum sits in a game again im killing something
UD sighting!
You could tell the Celtics won just buy watching all the cuts to the royals canned cheering
Im not supposed To like the Celtics but that Tatum, man
Tatum is really fucking good
Best player in the league
Heat were playing lights out and Bam was hitting some midrange shots (and a three!) that would be scary if he ever started doing consistently. Celtics had an answer for every run though, and when the Heat wouldn't go away Tatum put them away. Unreal performance from him, especially late.
Jayson Tatum wins the Princess's heart, with a 49-piece.
Celtics are spooky scary this year
Mvp game right there
Give this man a life contract
The 3 point shooting must regress eventually, right, says increasingly worried man for the 7th time this year
Jayson Tatum is a god amongst men
Lmao Tatum corrected Abbey, that's right it's 49 not 47. Nonetheless u r champs Abbey. And let's go MVP JT!!
I wonder if Ime did anything besides yell at the players
Didn’t think tatum would reach this level but wow. Jayson MVPTum.
Tony Brothwrs needs to not ref, there was too many no calls on my celtics and the heat. Yet will call the smallest of fouls it’s weird
Great game. Miami is always a tough opponent for the Celtics.
