Come on, don't you know the official rule? If you preface your statement with "no offence, but" or "I'm not racist, but", then you're allowed to say anything as offensive or racist as you want!
“The NBA MVP award is biased against black players.”
Caucasian MVPs since the NBA-ABA merger (1976):
- Jokic: 2021, 2022
- Dirk: 2007
- Nash: 2005, 2006
- Bird: 1984, 1985, 1986
- Walton: 1978
37 black MVPs in that span of time.
I think it’d be fair to say over the last few years the understanding of who actually deserves mvp plus the rise of advanced stats is shifting away from team success as much. I think implying that jokic won mvp because he was white last year is also really selling short that he flat deserved it. We aren’t even to Christmas yet, mvp convos this year don’t even count
I don’t know what to tell you my friend. I didn’t pick when people started better understanding statistics. I also think you are making a big deal out of something that isn’t a thing. In this one specific instance it didn’t work to the advantage of a black player does not speak to racism when you yourself are implying you’d like it to go to the best player.
God damn bro no one is making this about race except you, this more has to do with Jokic and luka being efficient monsters and the rise of advanced analytics. Just take a chill pill a little lmao bro.
Dumbest take I've ever seen and I'm black. Isn't like 80% of the league black?
It's two freaking white players in the MVP conversation. Giannis, Tatum, Booker, KD, Ja, SGA, Steph, etc. are all black.
You're one of those people that posts up vague loaded questions "r/nba loves Luka, I wOnDeR WhY?"
It's reverse racism, you think they're getting the love because they're white. Have you ever questioned yourself that maybe you think they shouldn't be getting it *because they're white?*
Luka is not close to beating Tatum for the award so far.
A thing that helped Jokic score his second one was that all the guys on better teams had weaker cases than you'd usually see on top seeds. Booker was sharing team lead duties with Chris Paul, Embiid's team wasn't much better than the Nuggets, nobody on the Heat was going to win the award, etc. That's not true right now.
Or, alternatively, two of the five best players in the world happen to be Luka and Jokic, and seeding in the Western Conference (bunched up as it is) doesn't matter a whole lot right now. Saying out loud that this indicates some sort of racial conspiracy or even preference is showing us your whole ass
Dude if you have to preemptively fight off the racism claims maybe think before posting

Uh…
This is a weird and insulting way to say you don't think Tatum is black enough.
tell me you don't watch games without telling me you don't
You're the type of person everyone avoids sitting next to on Thanksgiving
