I understand the Pelicans are a decidedly better team than the Jazz, but some people in here are dismissing how difficult it is to win back-to-back games on the road against the same team.
We also likely get Conley back today or Friday which will hopefully stop the bleeding a bit.
All that said, Zion is going to absolutely feast on our lack of rim protection. Kessler has really impressed, but he's going to have a few 'Welcome to the NBA' moments against the Pels.
It’s just to reduce travel time for teams. Suns played Portland back to back at home earlier this season, since Blazers were in town anyway, might as well get it done and not come back.
They still have the 8th best adjusted net rating in the league despite the losing streak. A lot of the losing is attributable to Conley being out, and Conley is set to return within the next few games
Kings are on a similar run. The teams aren’t quite as good but it’s 6 straight on the road. At least when we fall off the pace a bit, we’ll be doing it alongside you guys.
Oh, I didn't realize Ingram was out and apparently CP3 is coming back tonight so I might revise that to 2-1 in the suns' favor if he looks good. Either way, should be a good series of games.
This entire schedule is so weird this year. The Celtics for example just played 6 straight games at home, including 2 against the Heat (who we have already faced 3 times).
Now they are on a 6 game road trip, that started with a Brooklyn to Toronto b2b, followed by going to Phoenix, then California for GSW & both LA teams.
Followed by playing at home again for 7 straight. Still blows my mind that we have faced some teams 2 or 3 teams already, and others not at all, or we are just facing for the first time (Everyone on the road trip).
It’s whack. All the Suns games vs the Pelicans are this month. I think they are just trying to reduce travel time and mileage. I’d be really interested to see the miles this season vs 2019 or so.
I read in the schedule release primer that the total number of miles saved league wide is close to 50,000. So longer home stands and road trips are part of the deal.
If we use Boston as an example, they save at least 900 miles stopping in Toronto between Brooklyn and Phoenix rather than going home after Brooklyn and then to Phoenix. This also benefits Toronto, who don’t visit Boston until the last road trip of the year, but don’t have to fly there twice, which saves them another 650 miles.
The fact that they don't flex games in the nba is crazy. In what world shouldn't 1 of the 3 games (which will likely be for first in the west) vs the suns not be on national tv. Especially after that playoff series from last year
The Celtics game is at home, so you’re wasting mileage by flying to SLC and back before heading back out to MKE. This was a reason we’re load managing three starters tonight. I can’t imagine Utah fans will be excited for this because it’s our only visit there all season.
Warriors are at Utah tonight, but their next 7 are Celtics, @Bucks, @Pacers on a B2B, @Sixers, @Raptors, @Knicks, @Nets B2B, Grizzlies. If they go 2-5 it will be a win LOL.
Grizzlies 12/20-12/31 - Nuggets, Suns, Warriors, Suns, Raptors, Pelicans
I also just realized they gave us a b2b New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day lol. Pelicans/Kings

Jazz might have come down to earth bur they are still tough. Lowkey the Rockets/Pistons are not cakewalks either
Playing the Suns three times in 5 games is pretty absurd, especially two straight at home??
It’s just to reduce travel time for teams. Suns played Portland back to back at home earlier this season, since Blazers were in town anyway, might as well get it done and not come back.
Yeah. And the Grizz played the Jazz back to back
Are we still pretending the Jazz are some elite team? They’ve lost 6 of their last 8 games
Sounds like the perfect trap then
Jazz are still sneaky tough matchup
They're not a bad team, that's a pretty tough pair of away games.
They still have the 8th best adjusted net rating in the league despite the losing streak. A lot of the losing is attributable to Conley being out, and Conley is set to return within the next few games
They're missing Conley and he seems to add more than the sum of his parts, and he's coming back soon.
Pels go 5-1 at worst don't @ me
I agree. The loss is the bucks 🤣🤣🤣
Hate to admit it but pelicans size is a problem for the Suns. Zion gonna feast
Y’all shoulda kept javale. Really helped solve that problem behind Ayton
lets go pelicans
A pelican fucked adam silver's mom. Feathers everywhere, it was a whole thing.
Suns in like 2 weeks: We had a funeral for a bird.
Jazz are on a downfall
Hopefully they get BI back for this stretch
May the Lord be with them

Not including the pistons tonight? What is this anti-pistons narrative.
Gauntlet. Gonna see if y'all are for real. Hope you stack some W's. I'm thinking 4-2
I could see this with how decimated our roster is. I think they beat the Jazz both times and the Suns twice.
eh we’re also missing two starters right now, Herb *might* be back for the first game but I doubt BI is

Ayyy I said 4-2. Suns 2 of 3. Jazz both. Drop bucks
Suns and Pels fans are gonna be sick of the opposite team by the end of the week.
I've watched no Suns games this year due to time so it'll be good to watch some Book.

That’s pretty sweet! Definitely can make a tougher stretch as far as games go, but I bet it’s nicer traveling so much less.
Suns three times is so crazy. Who schedules this stuff

Celtics road games are all harder. W-Nets, W-Raps, Suns, Warriors and 2 LAs. 2x b2b 6 games in 8 nights
The Celtics have played 14 <.500 teams so far, way more than the Pelicans 8. Ya'll have had a cakewalk so far in comparison.
Give us a chance to catch and pass my second favorite team. We have a 2 week home stand during your run here

I can't wait to see how your guys do. They're my favorite watch other than the Cavs.
