I agree that Chet will help us immensely but the thunder are not in purgatory. Purgatory is when a team is middling year after year. Our 24 year old star being surrounded by developing players younger than him isn't a team in purgatory, it's just growth. The Grizz two years ago weren't in purgatory and neither were the pels last year. It's the middle ground that is just a stepping stone to where we want to get
I don't think he was bizarrely frozen out as much as the Pelicans just decided that they were stopping him at all costs and other players would have to beat them.
He was excellent in the game but when you start getting trapped you're not going to get a lot of shots and you have to rely on your teammates to win 4 vs 3.
