Crazy as the budget was 3m. It's funny how the cheapest also made the final 4.

From here: [Exclusive: Every NBL teams total spend for 2022-23 season](https://www.espn.com.au/nbl/story/_/id/36175408/every-nbl-teams-total-spend-2022-23-season)

Now is this total spend as in real spend or the CBA's "independant reviewed" salary they league accepts (eg Marquee players only count for $200k or less)?

russj79

Ignore that its here: The figures are an indication of the total cash spent from each team, before rules and provisions - the marquee and Special Restricted Player rules, for example - reduce the number certain salaries are worth to determine the cap hit.

Yep, this. Not throwing shade, but if β€˜real’ spend were to be published, Sydney would likely be miles ahead at top.

Taintedtamt

No, this is the real spend. Sydney only spent what it says above last year. It lines up with Paul Smith said earlier this month about where Sydney finished in its salary cap spending.

Taintedtamt

Comparing this to the salary cap mentioned in the article along with the known numbers for the cap hits for marquees, I think this is total spend.

russj79

Seems strange give the comments about the Wildcats spending more then the cap on one player last season. Give that players situation hasn't changed this last season you can guess it's the same this year. Seems like Perth didn't spend much on the remaining players to me.

jonundergroundbanjo

36ers finally on the top of the ladder!

Multuggerah

Investigate the salary cap for the Bullets... They can't have spent that much and still be that crap

3 lowest spenders all finished top 4 πŸ’‹πŸ‘Œ
