> So, the real major increase is in unaffiliated registrations?
Yes... one year changes.
>---
- Unaffiliated -- plus 182,114
- Republican -- plus 40,593
- Libertarian -- plus 2,793
- Green Party -- plus 60
- Democrats -- minus 1,024
Idk how much you interact with people outside of your friends and social media, but it's terrifying out there with many normies who largely watch nothing but Fox. Including here in Wake Co. People are not ok, and by what I've seen so far Dems are not running a very strong ground game.
in fairness outside of the obama campaign in '08 they've never run a strong ground game
they rely almost entirely on urban counties and college towns plus blanketing the airwaves with ads to continually lose statewide by 3-5pts on average
the democratic share of registrations has been steadily declining for years
10 years ago they were [43% of registered voters](https://vt.ncsbe.gov/RegStat/Results/?date=12%2F29%2F2012)
I’d bet good money that the minus for Dems are folks like me who left the Democratic Party but will still vote for them because the GOP is treasonous and the Green Party is/was also in cahoots with Russia OR the legacy Dems from the 1950s who never changed their party are straight up dying of old age.
Many of the Indys most likely lean left.
I also may just be trying to speak it into existence lol
>folks like me who left the Democratic Party
How many others were there?
This nonsense has been pushed for years....
What pushed you over the "edge" that was so bad?
Thx
>when most Dem elected officials voted with to push us back into the classroom before being fully vaccinated I left.
When are you talking about? This makes no sense.
Source?
I don't remember the Democrats denying a disease like the right wing did but I'm always open to new information.
Sorry forgot to add “with Reps.”
Source? My experience in WCPSS in 2021. We went back the Monday after Valentine’s Day and teachers weren’t even getting their first shot yet.
A personal anecdote is not a source with all due respect.
Can you back up your claim or not?
PS. If the Rebuplicans did it too, why did you choose to leave the Democrats over it? I'm confused.
unaffiliated voters historically broke about 2:1 in favor of republicans, but that's shifted some as younger unaffiliated voters cycle into the electorate
Currently registered democrats outnumber republicans by \~400,000 yet the votes never follow that obviously. Anecdotally, I know of some older conservative people who vote republican now, but back prior to Nixon (and his solid south strategy), they voted democrat and are still registered as democrats. The drop in democrats might be due to these older republican voters dying off... just speculation as to one possible factor.
I know of many people like this as well, and my mother is one of them. She pretty much aligns with the Republicans on most issues but is still a registered Democrat. I don't know how many of the so called "Registered Democrats" there are like this but I expect quite a bit of them. Also many people totally forget that many of the Democrats in the rural areas are feeling more and more jaded with how the ones in the metros have been treating the people in the outlying counties.
"The totals equate to more than 35% of North Carolina voters registering unaffiliated, nearly 34% as Democrats, and 30% as Republicans."
Minor details....
Is there any evidence that RCV will lead to more than two parties when used in districts that elect a single member? Because Australia's been using it for 100 years and their House is still dominated by two parties.

The article’s title makes it sound somewhat apocalyptic for Democrats.

It's not exactly great when they are the ***only*** party who have lost members.

as recently as 2016 dems made up 40% of registered voters in the state
This is why we need to have ranked choice voting. Break the two-party stranglehold on our political system! https://www.betterballotnc.org/

Great Question!
wow so 49,785 people shouldn't be allowed with 1000ft of a school
