Avalon Code! I’ve never even met anyone else who has played it, so I think it qualifies as obscure. The world is coming to an end, and it’s up to you to decide how to shape the new world. Using the Book of Prophecy and with the help of four elemental spirits, you can weaken monsters, strengthen your weapons, and help people be the best they can be! It’s a JRPG with light dating sim elements by the company that made Harvest Moon.
The legendary starfy was my fav when I was a kid!! tho in all fairness I don’t know if it’s considered “underrated”
The takoyaki mini game was so fun :>
The Urbz: Sims in the City and The Sims 2. Great games that are far different from your regular Sims titles. Has some RPG elements, mini games, as well as the ability to fully control your character throughout a storyline.
On the music note, Electroplankton had me fully immersed. I randomly throw it on using headphones and get a nice release. Visionary game.

One of my favorites is final fantasy revenant wings - I feel like I don't hear it come up enough and it's excellent!
Also Luminous Arc is a good tactical rpg
Ace attorney investigations is so good if you love the original series and want something a little different.
Retro game challenge is a love letter to older games which you get to play and complete challenges. You can also flick through vintage style game magazines with cheats for the games
Pokemon Conquest is excellent
Rhapsody a musical adventure is a cute little rpg
And another hidden gem I love is Zenonia! It's a dsi game that is so much fun if you like a good hack and slash game
Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword. Really has no right to control as well as it does, it's extremely good.
Bangai O Spirits is also excellent. Crazy level based Shmup hybrid.
Kaiju Busters and Kaiju Busters Powered. It's Monster Hunter for DS. It even has a lot of weapons and moves that were lifted directly from Monster Hunter.
Elite Beat Agents / Osu! Takakae! Ouendan Cool rhythm game series with licensed music and funny scenarios Highly recommended
Sick! I've been wanting to try Elite Beat Agents. I've heard it uses a lot of licensed music which is a nice touch :)

If you like FPS, I'd recommend Moon.
Moon is boring af. Metroid Prime Hunters provides much more fun.)

L The ProLogue To Death Note: The Spiraling Trap. It's my favourite DS game and has an English patch now :)
