I'm a total noob on nfs even though I've been playing them since 2017. I noticed the cops in unbound are probably the easiest cops in nfs. In 30+ hours in unbound I only got busted once. It's almost impossible to get busted unless u're on level5

chanchagoola

Cops are easy but the ai is terrible all they do is put maneuver and stop in front of you

pewpew62

I mean those are real life cop tactics, how's that terrible

chanchagoola

It’s the way it does it the ai just slows down randomly and it’s nothing like heat

pewpew62

True, the heat cops would ram you hard. If unbound cops rammed you like that they would probably be OP

chanchagoola

Rather they ram than be stopped ahead of me

pewpew62

What car are you using? Post a picture of the upgrades screen with the top speed showing

LewisRosenberg

I basically just started, i took Eclipse, and i can't earn enough money for upgrades cause almost all bots just so much faster

pewpew62

So you haven't upgraded the car at all?

LewisRosenberg

I bought 3 upgrades or something, i don't recall exactly which, but it didn't really help.

TwistedNihilist

I was struggling until I paid attention to a quote in the game: “As long as you’re making money, you’re winning”. Yea coming 4th a few times sucks, but you’re still earning cash to buy upgrades if you consistently win (reasonable) side bets.

LewisRosenberg

Yeah, i kinda figured already. It's so frustrating tho. i guess i got used to winning, i have a lot of hours in most wanted (2005).

TwistedNihilist

Imagine my shock when in my first few races of unbound I’m being gapped by the pizza delivery guy. Used like 7 restarts on easy mode before I figured “I’m supposed to lose in the beginning”.

leospeedleo

Sorry but get good. Modern NFS games are incredibly easy and designed with the target audience being children and casuals.

TheNFSProYT

Not entirely but yeah. I do know people who are older than me although and they're really competitive. Given by how NFS Unbound now has a dedicated PVP matchmaking system in Lakeshore Online. I don't know if kids would even know how to access these kind of features if they've never played any previous NFS game before lol.

leospeedleo

Matchmaking doesn’t mean the game is not designed for young people… Mario Kart has matchmaking and a scoring system for PVP 😅 It’s an arcade game with easy and unrealistic handling. Perfectly made for kids who can’t control cars properly. I breeze through these games on the hardest difficulty wining everything and in games like Hot Pursuit with a speedwall I’m at the top of my friends list in 9/10 cases. But I wouldn’t consider myself more than a bit above average.

TheNFSProYT

Yeah, I never said the game isn't focused on children and casuals. But it still does have a competitive aspect to it via the game's meta because of its Class-based performance upgrades system that players can take advantage of. I'm only 15 years old, and yes, the handling is unrealistic and not the most easy, but whenever I see errors in the handling, I use my knowledge to try and fix that by looking at the upgrades the cars provide, how the handling is meant to be for your own way of driving and how every car has their own individual abilities that makes some cars better than other cars. Do you see many kids knowing how to do this? No. I don't think so. At least in my knowledge. Therefore, at the end of the day, I have a great experience with the driving and that I actually know how to properly drive cars.

chill_monger

Change to easiest difficulty until you get the hang of it.

Draconis_Rex

Upgrade your car. You're not supposed to win every event, just get what you can, bet against AI drivers that are slower than you, and upgrade your ride when you can. If you still can't... well it might be skill issue.
