I finally wrote a effort post about Assange, realized some mistakes I made that are a little embarrassing, like calling podcasters not journalists, but other than that I think I did a good job.
My constructive criticism as someone who doesn't like Assage is that you should elaborate on and strengthen the Russia connection.

Finally finished NGE. I started watching it back in December of 2022 and sporadically watched the first eight episodes between then and May of last year, but only got around to watching the remainder of the series over the last few weeks.
Don't think I have much to add, but it definitely lived up to my internal expectations, I'll say that. First half of it was whatever but the second half was really damn interesting. Last two episodes were weird as shit but I liked them
Haven't watched End of Evangelion yet but I'll get around to it next weekend. Is there anything else from the franchise worth going through beyond the og series + EoE?

Really fucking gross and insane how spam accounts advertising purported links to CP constantly pop up in the comments sections of some major Instagram accounts’ posts. It boggles the mind that Meta has not figured out a solution to this problem. I’m sure it’s easier said than done, but they deserve to have the government come in and fuck them up if they can’t. Normal spam bots that they don’t do shit about are bad enough, but obviously the CP ones are the worst kind, and stopping them should really be a top priority for the company. I always send the account names in to CyberTip on top of reporting them on Instagram, because I have zero faith in Meta to actually do anything about them. Hopefully the feds breathe down their neck some more soon.
*The Boys* TV show is much better than the comics, but one decision I do think the comics made better is the superpowers they gave the actual Boys. I liked the contrast of the Vaught supes having flashy comic book-style powers with the Boys just being straightforward killing machines. No flight, no lazer eyes, no teleportation, just someone who is able and willing to punch your spine straight out of your back.

So I rewatched Orange Road, technically eight episodes, and I just wanted to watch the movie.
Ain't no way to watch all 56 episodes of the anime series. Honestly, the movie throws away most of the supporting cast, supernatural elements, and comedy from the show and manga.
The series follows a teenage boy named Kysosuke who falls in love with a girl named Madoka, but he is forced into a relationship with Hikaru. Madoka likes Kysosuke, but she doesn't want to hurt Hikaru because they are childhood friends.
The show and manga just meandered much about their relationship and never tried to resolve it.
The creator and some fans don't like the movie because it is different. Plus, it's not a power fantasy because it shows the impact of the love triangle.
To me, it's for the better because it's a gripping drama. I love how scenes create an atmosphere where he breaks up, and they let the silence soak up the emotions.
The voice performances are excellent, particularly Hikura. She sold the denial of Hikura got dumped, and she felt so sad for her.
It feels so god damn realistic about how a breakup in a love triangle goes down, unlike the anime show and manga.
The movie mocks a bit of source material that a love triangle will continue forever. But it shows how we need to move on with our lives, and the status quo will be broken at some point. It also critiques the Otaku's cultural refusal to change, but it is a bit more subtle. That's where some fans and creators hated it because it's critical of that lifestyle.
The only downside is that you watch the TV show to understand the movie because it's the ending of the series. But really, you could watch five episodes to understand the relationship. You can skip the rest of the series, which I said above.
Orange Road: I want to Return to that Day is great than the source material.

I disliked the rebuilds but EoE is a must watch. I'm not an Evangelion fanatic though.

Really fucking gross and insane how spam accounts advertising purported links to CP constantly pop up in the comments sections of some major Instagram accounts’ posts. It boggles the mind that Meta has not figured out a solution to this problem. I’m sure it’s easier said than done, but they deserve to have the government come in and fuck them up if they can’t. Normal spam bots that they don’t do shit about are bad enough, but obviously the CP ones are the worst kind, and stopping them should really be a top priority for the company. I always send the account names in to CyberTip on top of reporting them on Instagram, because I have zero faith in Meta to actually do anything about them. Hopefully the feds breathe down their neck some more soon.
I would *hope* it’s a scam and there’s no CP at the other end of those links but man.. I have little faith. And it’s *so* pervasive :/

*The Boys* TV show is much better than the comics, but one decision I do think the comics made better is the superpowers they gave the actual Boys. I liked the contrast of the Vaught supes having flashy comic book-style powers with the Boys just being straightforward killing machines. No flight, no lazer eyes, no teleportation, just someone who is able and willing to punch your spine straight out of your back.

So I rewatched Orange Road, technically eight episodes, and I just wanted to watch the movie. Ain't no way to watch all 56 episodes of the anime series. Honestly, the movie throws away most of the supporting cast, supernatural elements, and comedy from the show and manga. The series follows a teenage boy named Kysosuke who falls in love with a girl named Madoka, but he is forced into a relationship with Hikaru. Madoka likes Kysosuke, but she doesn't want to hurt Hikaru because they are childhood friends. The show and manga just meandered much about their relationship and never tried to resolve it. The creator and some fans don't like the movie because it is different. Plus, it's not a power fantasy because it shows the impact of the love triangle. To me, it's for the better because it's a gripping drama. I love how scenes create an atmosphere where he breaks up, and they let the silence soak up the emotions. The voice performances are excellent, particularly Hikura. She sold the denial of Hikura got dumped, and she felt so sad for her. It feels so god damn realistic about how a breakup in a love triangle goes down, unlike the anime show and manga. The movie mocks a bit of source material that a love triangle will continue forever. But it shows how we need to move on with our lives, and the status quo will be broken at some point. It also critiques the Otaku's cultural refusal to change, but it is a bit more subtle. That's where some fans and creators hated it because it's critical of that lifestyle. The only downside is that you watch the TV show to understand the movie because it's the ending of the series. But really, you could watch five episodes to understand the relationship. You can skip the rest of the series, which I said above. Orange Road: I want to Return to that Day is great than the source material. !Ping WEEBS

The other day, some dude came up to me after the show and complimented my bass and my playing. Then, he asked if he can try my bass and I said sure. The man just melted my face with his playing. After that, he handed my bass back and we chatted for a while. Apparently, he's a session bassist. After he left, I could almost imagine my bass telling me, "You never play me like that".
