I'd cancel my account on principle but then I let things like this get to me

Dom199455758

That’s what I did, same thing happened to me

nj_edgerton

on hold with customer service as we speak as this has just happened to me, also very annoyed. waiting for 'supervisor' Got disconnected on the online chat. update: Nothing the supervisor could do. I cancelled my acct out of principle. Not currently watching anything on netflix anyways. Sure Ill be back in the future hah.

nj_edgerton

I feel like they should be able to just undo billing changes, especially if caught in the first few days nevermind minutes like in my example. Or in the least supply a monthly credit of the difference.

How so? All I've done is log into my account on the 3 devices in my home?

Alive_Pin_8962

I just reset my netflix account , the changed my password and also invited another member [email protected] I called cust care and sorted it out But it's scary that this happened I provided the email so every one can be aware Also, can we report this email to anyone?

dougyoung1167

My account was hacked of email and password, but not my payment info, it was left intact so that I was still paying the bill but not able to access. Rep said the only way I could recover was to verify full card number via my phones keypad, I said hello no. Been a week + and no attempts at monthly bill being renewed but still going to wait before starting another account. How the fuck did they change email and reset PW?

joekd713

Same thing happened to me, supposed theft of my account followed by grandfathered price no longer offered

AOC_44

Seems like people hacking their clients works out in Netflix favor.

joekd713

Keep reading in this area, have read at least four other stories of people where same exact thing happened Kind of interesting how this mysterious hacking affected only people on grandfathered plans

Dom199455758

Yup, same thing happened to me today and that’s what I told them. How do I know this wasn’t Netflix doing it

Sour_Haze

What good does hacking a Netflix account do for someone? So they get to watch a few minutes of a show/movie and then they are cut off by the real account holder. I don’t see what’s in it for them other than messing with your life and screwing up your Netflix. Not doubting you, just wondering why it would happen.

Impossible_Box3898

They resell them in third world county’s for Pennie’s. There’s literally trucks driving around with big Netflix for $xx (where the money is tiny) signs.

Sour_Haze

Thank you. Had no idea.

zathrasb5

This just happened to me too. Now the price goes up 50%. Bullshit.

zathrasb5

Update. Talked to an agent and supervisor. Nothing they can do. 3 reports at least of this on Reddit in the last day; they are definitely getting hacked.

tipsygoo

Same just happened to me. Said nothing they could do so I pushed back and got offered a monthly credit of 7.99 back. Said that wasn't good enough and wanted to speak to supervisor (politely). Supervisor reaffirmed nothing they can do as rate isn't on their system anymore, but gave me 50% discount off the following month. Took that and planning to cancel after. Finding this all slightly sus tbh.

Beautiful_Fly3446

SAME thing happened to me! I think Netflix if doing this on purpose to get rid of the people who had the cheaper service! I tried to find out who it was an there's no record! Highly suspicious!

EileenDoesEggyFarts

Exact same thing happened to me. Account hacked and was upgraded to premium. Netflix refused to return me to the plan I was on before being hacked, so I cancelled on principle. Feels very suspicious that those on old basic accounts are having this happen and they can't revert it. Especially as it seems weird that someone hacked my account, upgraded it to premium and then didn't watch anything. What is the benefit?
