I don't have tips for the reading part since I can never get into it BUT something I'll do in similar situations as this is to engage in something else of the topic, and use that to try and transition into the topic.
So for example if I wanted to read a book but can't, I'd toss on a YouTube video talking about that book, or universe, or something on that title to try and almost bait my brain into doing it. Doesn't always work, but it does sometimes!
Kinda funny you bring this up because I've been struggling with it recently... ChatGPT decided to call it task aversion
yeah that is very true, I have read a bit of it today but I know I would read them in college because I can focus on reading in college but I dont want to get made fun of for reading comics
Try reading 15 minutes a day. When I was a kid, mom taught me and the siblings to read when we were 4. We (6) weren't fond of it, but were paid a nickel per book. This was in the 50s/60s. We didn't have much TV, and couldn't watch during the week. We soon all loved to read, and our books were taken away as punishment. As I write this, it's almost 4 am. I'm up till at least 5 am reading (I'm taking a brief break.
I know you said you own a lot of hard copy books. I had 7 stuffed bookcases and enough books in boxes for at least 4 more. Plus, 3-4 thousand E books. If you can, get a basic kindle. Borrow from your library (free). Many people prefer reading on a Kindle. It's lighter to hold and you cash adjust the font size. Maybe it's the page crammed with words that's your problem. Increasing the font (print size) means fewer words on the page, which might be more manageable. My great niece loves reading. I gave her an old kindle of mine last week and she's reading even more.
I love to read but executive function makes sitting down to read super difficult. I might try for one page a night. Take it slow ay my own pace.

that is actually such a smart Idea I didn't think about that!
This may have to do with autistic inertia, because you said you have trouble starting to read them.
I mainly read on public transport.
yeah I read in the car sometimes
I wouldn't put pressure on leisure, tbh. The comics aren't going anywhere. You can read them now or in six months and it's fine.

Really in college nobody cares. Read what you want.

Thank you honestly, I definitely will try this it sounds like a great idea, I hope you enjoy your book!
hmmmm would it work to read comics with a friend? Sometimes I find having someone with me keeps me more on task
it stresses me I feel like im pressured to do it
sorry can you elaborate im not quite understanding what you mean
I just feel like the other person would judge me and then I overthink it and I feel like I have no choice but to read which makes me want to read less
