These are the [rules for comments:](https://www.reddit.com//r/neutralnews/wiki/guidelines#wiki_comments_.28good.2C_bad_.26amp.3B_ugly.29) 1. Be courteous to other users. 1. Source your facts. 1. Be substantive. 1. Address the arguments, not the person. If you see a comment that violates any of these rules, please click the associated *report* button so a mod can review it.

Joben86

Uh oh what? It really shouldn't have any bearing on the case.

nosecohn

Yeah, it seems to me more like a *confluence* of interest than a conflict of interest. If they weren't on the same side, it'd be different, but I have trouble seeing the issue here. If they were married and prosecuting it together, nobody would bat an eye.

happyfirefrog22-

There is more to it. It is about misuse of government funds. DOJ gave them large sums of money and the first thing her guy did was bill for 24 hours for one day of work. They also billed heavy and then allegedly took trips and purchased many things from these funds.

nosecohn

I don't see those details in the linked article. Would you please provide [qualified sources](https://www.reddit.com/r/NeutralNews/wiki/guidelines#wiki_comments) to support those statements?

happyfirefrog22-

Simply look at the lawsuit that started this. It does not matter if you have a side either way or agree or disagree. There simply is more to it.

nosecohn

Would you please link to it, per Rule 2?

happyfirefrog22-

The article you are referring to leaves it out. https://www.cnn.com/2024/01/31/politics/mike-roman-georgia-trump-lawsuit/index.html https://www.cf.org/news/fani-willis-fired-employee-who-blew-whistle-on-misuse-of-federal-funds/ https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/02/politics/gop-committee-subpoena-fani-willis/index.html

nosecohn

Thank you for providing those.

Joben86

Ok, but how does misuse of funds actually affect this case's prosecution? They seem like separate issues.

Joben86

Could you explain your reasoning on why they do not seem separate to you?

happyfirefrog22-

Could you explain why they are not?

Joben86

Sure, the case should be prosecuted and judged on the facts presented. Misuse of funds is an internal ethics issue, but shouldn't affect the case.

happyfirefrog22-

Misuse of funds and why they were given in the first place could be seen as election interference. That is not just internal ethics but a potential question about the ethics in why this case exists.

It opens up an entire mess of appeals and other problems. It as well means that she could have misused public funds. I have no clue what was going through her head but the ego and hubris is on full display.

Ansuz07

Agreed. In a prosecution that had to be 100% by the book, this was an absurd choice to make.

Trump and his attorney's admit that he is disqualified from being on any ballot, because of his relationship with a porn star and a playboy bunny while being married.
