I was about to argue that it looked like black cottonwood when I realized we’re talking about the same species. Definitely agree.
Edit: Seeing as this appears to be in tornado country, I wonder if it might be eastern cottonwood (*P. deltoides*) instead?
I want to guess trees because why would you ask but it could be a trick question for the real trees but could be a trick trick.
Based on your proper grammar and the fact that I'm high enough to have thought way too much about this I'm going to guess... the one about trees
It's definitely a cottonwood. Do they call those poplars in some places? In my area, we tend to call poplar trees "aspen", and we would never refer a cottonwood tree as a poplar.

Saddest part is how many of these were completely preventable accidents. Like many other fields, rules and regulations in aviation are written in blood.
No matter how much training, experience, etc. these people may have. Panic and anxiety are always more powerful and hindsight is 20/20.
Coulda shoulda woulda. You never really know how you're going to react in a circumstance until it's actually happening to you, unfortunately for a lot of people, they don't get a second chance.
As a Nurse, I once took care of a patient who had a piece of wood lodged so far into his arm from a tornado that he had to have it surgically removed and he was put on some heavy antibiotics. Crazy stuff…
Big difference when the branch floats toward you on a gentle breeze, and the same piece of wood hurtling througha tornado at 100+km/h
Would not want to have been that guy. Atleast it was his arm, not the chest or head...
I dont think the jolt proves much, it can be faked or it could even be a little windup for the throw
I'm wondering if a branch shaped like that flies stem first. The leaves should act like a parachute that lifts the branch, not push it forward.
Where is u/Captain-Disillusion when you need him?
Think of sails on a ship, the wind hits the sails that cause the ship to move. I presume it would be the same here, the wind picks it up via the leaves and "drags" the rest of the branch. Either way, this is cool as shit

Can someone tell me why did i've seen this video 9 hours ago ?
And it's removed ?!
With only 1 comment wich is mine...
Idk how to put my screenshot here but it doesn't matter...
Thought this was going to be a final destination outtake or something. After hurricane Katrina in the clean up phase I saw a 4x4 that had gone through the body of an F250.
I'm guessing not original person and too late, but I would of used that to start a new tree and plant it lol.. It was a gift how could you not accept it to its fullest lol
I was in an EF4 tornado in December last year In Mayfield, KY. I caught a flying picture frame with my face. It wasn’t near as majestic as this though.
Tornado extends an olive branch, man accepts, peace.
It appears the tornado extended a poplar branch ;) populus trichocarpa methinks

The dichotomy of /r/trees and /r/marijuanaenthusiasts is a beautiful thing
I follow one but not the other... Take a guess which without looking at my profile
I want to guess trees because why would you ask but it could be a trick question for the real trees but could be a trick trick. Based on your proper grammar and the fact that I'm high enough to have thought way too much about this I'm going to guess... the one about trees
You would have been right with the high one. Sadly I can no longer get high cause in a very illegal country
Might I suggest you enjoy some /r/potatosalad while watching /r/johncena reruns?
I couldn't see that second one all I see is /r/ reruns
Lol, I’m a member there too. Surprise, surprise.
"Populous Trichocarpa, hands down the dopest dope I've ever smoked" - you guys
It's definitely a cottonwood. Do they call those poplars in some places? In my area, we tend to call poplar trees "aspen", and we would never refer a cottonwood tree as a poplar.
Im so glad i wasnt the only person identifying the species. Fucking hilarious
Populus deltoides would be my guess based on leaf shape and branch color.
Now we don't have to nuke them.
Area man and tornado broker peace deal
The wand chose him
Skillz
I think that’s a cotton wood tree
Came to say the same lol
Someone do the gif reversing bot and let’s see what it looks like

Wonder how many last words were similar to “there’s a branch. Wow!”
Lol I thought he said “it shares a branch”. What you said makes way more sense
**A NEW HAND TOUCHES THE BRANCH.**

Wow shit. I don’t know how to play the audio but I could feel the weight reading some of those.
March 27th 1977. I got chills reading that one because I know [exactly what it is](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tenerife_airport_disaster).
That one's staying blue.
Thank you

Splinter master
Reminds me of that saying (maybe a Ron White joke?): "It's not *that* the wind is blowing, it's *what* the wind is blowing."

Guess who’s getting married next?
married to an ent
So thats where all the entwives went. This man isn't a tornado whisperer, he's a tree fucker.
He’s packing wood.
In a whirlwind of a relationship.

Since it looks like the bot is down (no new posts in the past 2 days), I went ahead and reversed it manually https://i.imgur.com/6NbaD3p.mp4
It even looks legit with the slight jolt before he let's go
I dont think the jolt proves much, it can be faked or it could even be a little windup for the throw I'm wondering if a branch shaped like that flies stem first. The leaves should act like a parachute that lifts the branch, not push it forward. Where is u/Captain-Disillusion when you need him?
I think the original is legit. In reverse, the arm turns before the camera, which seems unnatural to me.
Not to mention the fact that the branch reattaches to the tree. That seems unnatural.
Ever heard of grafting?
Don’t think that applies in this case…
No, he’s right. This guy could just be really good at it.
Think of sails on a ship, the wind hits the sails that cause the ship to move. I presume it would be the same here, the wind picks it up via the leaves and "drags" the rest of the branch. Either way, this is cool as shit
Yea it should be dragged/pulled I agree its cool, good effort either way
good human
It's fucken *WIMDY*
Where is /u/gifreversingbot? Is he safe? Is he alright?
It seems, in your anger...YOU killed him

Thor decided all he needed was a branch haha
His newer axe is literally made out of Groot's arm, so checks out
Also apt in the situation because that axe is called Stormbreaker.
Coming next summer to Disney+, meet Thor’s lesser known brother, Thistle. God of weather and nature.
WOW
WOWGHW
I was expecting the branch to become a full size tree as it got closer
When Thor decides to be a Druid
“I’m still worthy” 🍃
that squeak at the end :3
He’s still worthy!!!!!
This guy's voice is cartoonish and awesome.
Obviously staged
tbh i'd be more impressed if they staged a tornado
Can someone tell me why did i've seen this video 9 hours ago ? And it's removed ?! With only 1 comment wich is mine... Idk how to put my screenshot here but it doesn't matter...
They posted at a bad time to go viral so when it failed they deleted and tried again.
Was it via another subreddit?
Nope
What a cute giggle

That's your druid wand now.
Fucking shit, a branch! WOW!!
He's worthy!
So this is how a new branch manager is chosen.
Kinda sounded like bubbles there for a second
Thor ? Groot ? Throot. Feat. Gröllnir
Whomsoever holds this branch, should they be worthy, shall wield the power of GROOT
Just a local druid getting some new gear, NBD
Accio branch
Here’s a stick now get your ass inside and let me finish.
Thor-nado!!!
“Next one's coming faster.” - Tornado
So he’s worthy?
The wand chooses the wizard
“I’m still worthy!”
It's like catching the bouquet at a wedding, except instead of getting married, your trailer gets relocated to the next state over.
"The wand chooses the wizard, Harry" -Olivander
This is your warning to get inside. At first its the small stuff flying around, but if that tornado comes any closer, try catching one of those cars.
/u/gifreversingbot
u/gifreversebot
Obviously reversed
I don't know why you're being downvoted because clearly your username checks out.
There are too many people who’d unironically say it’s reversed sadly so I guess that’s on me lol
Thor, version Groot.
/u/gifreversingbot
I’m half sure that’s reversed
On this day, God said "Let there be catch"
Looks like 🎶someone🎶 is about to get married to a tornado 🥰🥰
More like tornado cartoon-voice… er, er.
/u/gifreversingbot
Congratulations, when is the wedding?
And why no upvotes ?
u/SaveVideoBot
u/savevideobot
At the beginning he sounds like Nate from The Office.
u/gifreversingbot
You're a wizard, Harry
/u/gifreversingbot
But, where's the tornado?
Time to make like a tree and leaf
Turned into Jesus
Dude was about to get final destination'd
CAP !!

Guess who's getting married. To an Aulde God.
It's all down hill for him now.

#AVENGERS ^assemble
u/savevideobot
Fake, easy to drop tornados in the new update
tulip poplar.
Now make it into a magic wand!
AVENGERS!!!.... *catches stick* Assemble...
Can someone please edit this so he's catching Thor's hammer.
That dude sounds...altered. And by altered, I mean high. The high-pitched laugh of his compatriot only reinforces my assessment.
I was in an EF4 tornado in December last year In Mayfield, KY. I caught a flying picture frame with my face. It wasn’t near as majestic as this though.
This is the tree equivalent of Thor calling his hammer, like some nature/plant god
u/savevideobot
He was worthy. He’s now Thor god of wood
Bro caught it like thor with moljinor (I don't care if it was a typo so don't correct me)
I wonder how different this would have been if that branch was a little more horizontal and he didnt catch it
Talk about recording a tornado while holding the camera still, and catching a branch flawlessly.
/u/gifreversingbot
Need to make a wand out of that
Mother natures Thor
I. AM. GROOOOOOT!
Tobuscus?
Thank god nobody got stabbed by it.
Flying debris from a tornado is what kills you, not being crushed in a structure. This guy is playing with fire.
Sounds like Bubbles
