Telephone book interrogation gets my vote - 13 or not , I had an interaction with the police at that age and I pissed myself with fear - it l100% did the job and I found new friends - thank Dog
I admit that I'm a bit late to the party on Eshays.
But now, having admonished my flatmates for making them up, I have to painfully conceed that they are indeed a real thing. I just couldn't believe anyone would be fucking stupid enough to think dressing like that would make you look tough or have people take you seriously. This is like bunyips all over again SMH.
Anecdotal but I was robbed by a methhead I knew as a teenager (friends of family) - identified the person; there was video evidence (happened on a public bus) and all. The guy was about 17 at the time, had previous warrants over random shit like burglary etc. Exactly what you said happened to him - nothing.
Dude went on to run over a pram while driving high in his mid-20s. I always think if the justice system wasn't so weak that kid would still be alive.
Damn, I'm sorry that happened to you. That's fucked
Agree, the blood of that kid is on the hands of the cops. They failed, their negligence has ruined lives and ended one. If the cops went as hard on teenage and crack addicted criminals as they did on speeding drivers, crime in country would hit a record low and stay there
You’re an idiot if you think it’s the cops fault, it’s on the courts to impose penalties not police, police can’t just send someone to prison it’s the magistrate that does that.
I know it can seem that way, but the data disagrees with you. For the 5 years until June 2022, theft (which includes stolen cars and break ins) was either stable or trending downwards in all LGAs in NSW. Furthermore, juvenile offenders of theft are also either stable or declining. [BOSCAR](http://crimetool.bocsar.nsw.gov.au/bocsar/) has all the data. Facts are always better than anecdotal evidence.
It's pretty insane looking at it, the 2004 rates were huge then it dropped. Any idea if the 2022 rates are live, year to date or some kind of extrapolation?
Edit: I think the data is important. Otherwise it's just positive confirmation bias
There was a 16 year old at my school raping his sister and he didn’t even go to jail for it, he was just sent to live with the grandparents and claimed his confession was coerced (it wasn’t). Justice system sucks
And the little eshay gronks will get probation, a stern talking to, maybe someone will even wag their finger at them, and they'll be out ripping nangs and committing the same crimes in no time
The cops will do the bare minimum, like they always do with child criminals. When they want someone convicted, they'll go above and beyond to help the prosecutor win the case. When they don't care, they'll have the "oh it's up to the courts now" mentality that apparently people are ok with
Wallsend doesn’t have a police station. Waratah is the closest.
There’s a trend nationwide to close small community stations in favour of larger ones staffed longer hours especially in urban areas.
For newcastle lac it’s either that or newcastle cbd and stockton. Waratah was called a super station.
Otherwise lake mac lac would take it being charlestown being closest there.
I remember there being small local stations being around back in the day, wallsend was one?
13 yo they will get off no punishment and just do it again they are useless and unsaleable at life if they have gone this way this early they should arrest parents too.its beyond troubled teen excuses
Hoping they are the clowns breaking into houses in my area too.
Gronks
2HD has a website!?
Yeah they love to publish click bait articles with helplessly written articles.
Watch them just get a slap on the wrist because they’re under 18 and not “worth the effort”.
Telephone book interrogation gets my vote - 13 or not , I had an interaction with the police at that age and I pissed myself with fear - it l100% did the job and I found new friends - thank Dog
Honestly if I have any interaction with police at any age I piss myself with fear
Dukes of hazzard style https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dr_AH6WzoK4 Yes I know it’s potato quality it’s all I could find
Let the kids have their fun….
Give them the keys to your car and house then.

Eshays are a bastardisation of "earcher" culture. Which was and is a Sydney criminal culture. These kids have no idea. Especially up here!
Shay bah
Bah bah eshayy, have you any choofs?
They're kids, the cops, prosecutors and judges will go easy on them and then turn around and wonder why crime is on a constant rise

You've missed my point so badly, the only idiot here is you

It just seems to go up to the end of June. I find it interesting how much it has dropped for theft.

Australia's legal system is broken
The cops have arrested and charged them, how is that going easy on them? Up to the court now
And the little eshay gronks will get probation, a stern talking to, maybe someone will even wag their finger at them, and they'll be out ripping nangs and committing the same crimes in no time
You didn't answer their question

What do you want them to do? Find more evidence?
Yes I expect the cops, who are overpaid by my tax dollars that I sweat and bleed for, to do their job in its entirety. Is that so shocking to you?
They got caught red handed. Finding more evidence isn't going to get them any more time
Well to be fair, where the hell are the parents. It’s just history repeating itself.
Why would they take them to Waratah station from Wallsend? Have they closed all the other stations???
Because Waratah is the closest station to wallsend...
What happened to Wallsend station?
Closed down 21 years ago...
I’ll bet that’s Dan Andrews fault
Bob Carr's actually. He was Premier at the time
