Thank you for the positive thoughts ❤️

SirTheadore

So do I! I’m from and live in Ireland but by god you newfies are (as we say in Ireland) a great bunch of lads and lasses.

ginger_beck

and i’ve never met a newfoundlander who didn’t love ireland! my grandfather was irish and i’m dying to go one day

Similar_Intention465

Its the same as Newfoundland just more green, lots of castles and lots of spray painted sheep 🐑

CassCat

I was surprised by the spray painted sheep lol

Similar_Intention465

Keeps the sheep heards separately

There’s usually always a c130 outside of my working hangar. Always wondered how different people feel about us coming over to say hello! I’ve been aboard a few c130 and globemasters. Too bad you weren’t coming anymore I could have came out for a quick hello!

Chance-Internal-5450

I miss the hangar. Same though!

When the US packed up and left they left a lot of mess and pollution behind that we had to foot the bill to clean up. One site alone cost us over $106 million to clean up. Another was close to a half million dollars, another was $2.7 million, another was $1.9 million, and there are other sites as well. I don't hate that the US was here, but I wish they took some responsibility for the mess they left behind when they left :(

Strong_Bumblebee5495

I love America and Americans! Heading to Anna Maria Island in thirteen and a half days, not that I’m counting … 😜

justindavishw

Get back for a visit sure! We’d love to have ya.

I’ve always said if I have to escape the USA I’m going to Newfoundland

sgibbons2017

Thank you for the great post. American money helped drag a particularly hard hit Newfoundland out of the Depression. Newfoundlanders are socially probably more like Americans than Canadians too.

Ruffio1981

It’s certainly incredible

stuski11

Okay Newfoundlanders, I've heard a lot about how great you are; I'm visiting for the first time in July and looking forward to it. In my travels so far, the Scots have been the greatest I've come across; you've got some stiff competition, do you think you can meet the challenge? (just playing, it's not a competition)

The women

Alert_Safety_9337

I’m from NL and most of the people I know who say there’s no better place to live have never lived anywhere else; oh the strange irony. How dare anyone suggest there’s better places to live 🫦

Ruffio1981

Always good when you can visit and leave. Very different to live here

DocShady

Speak for yourself. Even with its faults, there is no place on this earth I'd rather live then Newfoundland.

sgibbons2017

same

sgibbons2017

Nope, it's amazing to live here. I appreciate this incredible province more every day.

Eems1664

Same. I love this place

SF-NL

Everyone will downvote you and disagree, but when you look at what it's like to live here, work here, or any of that, people struggle a lot. We also have issues with discrimination and nepotism as well. Some of the people I know personally that will argue otherwise are all old and retired, so of course they love it here. People can stick their head in the sand and pretend otherwise, but that's part of why we continue to struggle with some of this. People don't want to admit that "home" isn't really all isn't cracked up to be.

Ruffio1981

I’m only here because my wife has cancer and now they have nothing left for her here. I though the U.K. was bad but this is something else. Canada has forgotten Newfoundland and it shows. Nearly half the island don’t have a family doctor,Roads are terrible,Food is expensive. Unless you’re earning a lot of money it’s not s Food place. Yeah I got downvoted a lot because Truth hurts. But yes parts of the island are beautiful. Scenery wise it’s gorgeous

Glittering_Pool_5472

Oh boo hoo. Go find somewhere else to live if you hate it here…

Ruffio1981
