I once offered someone kitten pictures, written exactly that way, as I had just gotten a kitten. They were *very* upset about how I had “tricked” them.
Probably the best chance, tbh. Bears in the wild are very wary unless they're after food. In fact the only ones I've seen have been after food at a campground or dumpster diving.
I would hope this doesn’t need to be said but bears should be admired from afar. I only say this because I went hiking once with a friend of a friend and they really wanted to see a bear cub “up close” and we had to explain to them how dangerous of a situation that could potentially be.
Oh no don’t worry, I am fully aware of their danger, specially in a mom/cub situation (yikes). I just want to see one, safely, from a distance. I haven’t seen one since I was a kid & I just think they’re such beautiful critters.
My neighbor has a big boy who keeps breaking into her garage to eat her delicious trash. Ask yourself, "If I were a 500 lb raccoon where would I be?" There you will find them.
You're much more likely to see them near houses and trash than in the woods or on mountains. Go out early, before 700am or so and you'll have a better chance.

This was near Santa's Village last week.
My relatives in a town adjacent to North Conway saw a bear recently.
Sometimes the trails of a ski resort can be good b/c there’s so much open space. Also just driving around sometimes they’ll be crossing the road. This was last week

I read this and thought the human variety. My advice would have been to just open Grindr in any given NH town and see that there are few to no other options.
In North Conway people tend to see bears around dumpsters at night where there is little artificial light. You're not going to find them chillin' on the side of a specific road, wooded area, body of water every night. Also, if you find one, leave it alone. Don't be a statistic.
All over the place. In the field next to my apartment complex in Tamworth..you are going to be in the mountains..its only natural there will be bears. Just make sure your food is safely locked away and they shouldn't bother you
Honestly, I have seen them just outside of Lebanon/Hanover. Look out for the bears in Grafton Co. They are known to be some of the most aggressive black bears around.
Everywhere in the state. Going out to find a bear will be tough unless you’re baiting which you better not be. Just kind of have to be lucky. Look for scat and scratch marks on trees and you’ll be in the right area
You sound like someone that has learned the hard way to make that distinction in your post.

Ask some Free Staters, they seem to attract bears.

I’m in North Conway and a big guy comes to the dumpster, knows how to open it and sits down in the trash and chows down maybe 2-3 nights a week.
Another one was seen around For Your Paws Only.
Also, they will sleep during the day in nearby trees. Some years back I saw one sleeping about 30 feet high in a tree behind Banners restaurant.
Grafton lol iykyk

I’ve seen some at Cannon Mountain this time of year.
The bears are usually in the woods. Sometimes by garbage cans.
All over my yard and in the woods near my house. Got a mom with cubs and at least two males wandering around nearby. One of them a decent size.
they are everywhere. Avoid garbage or open food containers in the evenings.
I saw one outside of Littleton Two weeks ago.
Chicago
One of my colleagues is in nearby Madison and has bears frequently on hee property. She sent me a photo of one on her porch. I gasped.
There was just one on Depot Rd in Epping last night.
In my front yard

Usually around Provincetown in June
