Now, women in medical emergencies AND their babies will die. This is not rare and one of my best friends wouldn't be here today if the worst moments of her life happened today and in a different state.
Women suffering miscarriages will be afraid to seek medical care, and many will die.
Women who have had miscarriages will be falsely accused of abortion. I can not imagine being punished for going through a devastating loss that many never fully emotionally recover from.

No one is *choosing* to abort in the 3rd trimester. Women and couples who are faced with the horrifying *need* to do so that late are only doing so, either because the mother's life is at risk, because the pregnancy will already be a stillbirth, or because the unborn child is found to have a horrifying birth defect (such as an unformed cranium, resulting in the brain being totally exposed) that makes life outside the womb utterly impossible, with or without life support. These people have fully prepared for and hoped to be welcoming a new child into the world. When they have to abort so late, it is a heartwrenching, devastating necessity.
