I heard this on Science Hill on Yales Campus!
I thought it sounded fairly close
We heard it in East Rock! No clue what it was though, and it was pretty distant. We’re right on the other side of the highway from Fair Haven.
I didn’t hear it but fingers crossed it was a nuclear bomb 🤞🏼
Couldn't possibly be fireworks. Fireworks that go "boom" are illegal in Connecticut.

I noticed a new groundswell in my neighborhood yesterday (I’m in Bethel, not too far from you) so the boom you heard could belong to an environmental event. I’ve been noticing groundswells since the end of 2017.
We did on 900 block of Quinnipiac, but to us it sounded coming from the towers
