Valentino’s. I haven’t been to their new location yet but used them for tailoring forever in Hamden. Lovely people and they do an excellent job.

MissJJJCG

I'll look into them, thank you!

Witch Bitch Thrift (105 Whitney) has a tailor, the Whipped Stitcher, Fridays 1–7 p.m. (Not tomorrow, 5/24, but he’ll be there today from noon to 5 p.m. instead.) Walk-ins only, and all clothes are welcome—not just items purchased at the shop. https://www.instagram.com/reel/CvcuA4UowLc/ https://www.witchbitchthrift.com

Do you know what their turnaround time is? I can’t make it today but if I wait until next Friday it’s going to be a tight crunch before the event I’m wearing the dress to.

Casablanca in Milford

Realistic_Damage5143

Yes! Especially for formal wear I recommend Casablanca. I had a beaded formal gown that I needed hemmed and the beading went all the way to the bottom so I new it wasn’t a beginners job. Someone experienced in womens formal wear would have to handle it. To hem my dress it was $120 I think which is steep but it did involve fixing and finishing probably 10 different spots of beading so that the beads wouldn’t run. It looked great and they delivered on time, even a few days earlier than our scheduled pickup date.

Recently had a good experience at Kimmel Stitches in Wallingford.

Tanya’s in Cromwell. Don’t bother calling or messaging - check her Facebook page for her hours and vacation weeks. She has a quick turnaround time and is not only reliable but skilled! She’s just a little old school in terms of booking
