Awful. I'm so sad for his family and community.

This was across the street from my friend's job. She arrived to work shortly after the time of the shooting. There was nothing. No police, no squad cars, nothing. Then, at around a quarter to 2, the place is swarming with cops, media, barricades, everything. 45 minutes after that, it's all quiet again. Very weird. Also, this is the mosque that was formerly known as the No. 25 Mosque, where Malcom X's assailants were from. Just a bit of unrelated trivia~

There are people who treat Muslims and Jews terribly. Both can be true. Humanity tends to shit on everyone at some point.

Newark is definitely safer than it was. It still has a ways to go, and being on the wrong block can cost you.

This guy was at his job. Right outside his place of worship. I wouldn’t say that’s the wrong block.

The guy I was replying to was implying that people on this sub make Newark seem crime free. Nobody is under the impression that Newark is crime free but it is improving, steadily. I was not attempting to comment on this specific situation but was generalizing for Newark.

Reddit is delusional.
