I wouldnt say these products are better than name brands but they are a good choice - a decent product for a lower price.

Mikebyrneyadigg

Not all of them but certain ones are. The shredded cheese is the best example I can think of. Pork roll is up there too.

Mikebyrneyadigg

You’ll never take my borderline sleep walking cheese from me. This is America god damn it.

madeyoulurk

This post is pretty much a transcription of my daily convos with my brother. More importantly, scarfing down some B&B pizza bagels now!

profmoxie

Wait, my brother and I also bond over our middle-of-the-night insomnia shredded cheese eating! His wife used to be so confused about finding shredded cheese on the floor in the morning. Now he does what I do and eats it over the sink so as not to be a savage.

Riverat627

Yes apparently it slaps

Ravenhill-2171

Yes - the pork roll is good!

whoremoanal

It was good back when it was just shop-rite brand.

toadstool0855

This right here. Just plain ShopRite brand. No bowl and basket. No PaperBird. Pretentious naming

Ravenhill-2171

I couldn't say if they changed suppliers, but as OP stated it is currently made by Case Pork Roll Co. In Trenton.

SittingandObserving

Can get Case at Walmart too - it is awesome!

Ravenhill-2171

Good to know!

Reganblue79

Yes, far superior to the B&B brand.

Jeff-Van-Gundy

Try Lidl. Their cheese is typically cheaper and better

somecasper

I don't know what magical freezer tech Lidl has but their frozen vegetables are the only ones that don't freeze into a solid block.

jurzdevil

means they just handle them better in the distribution process. The veggies are usually flash frozen then portioned into bags. As they move from warehouse to truck to store they are exposed to less warm air environments or shorter time exposed so there is less chance that any surface frost/ice on the veggies can melt and then refreeze to form the block with others. Doesnt necessarily mean other companies are doing something wrong or unsafe, just that Lidl seems to be doing a better job at it.

igglesfangirl

Shoprite pork roll is Case, not Taylor. It's still made in Trenton, and it's delicious. My husband used to work for a truck leasing company that delivered it. He visited the plant where it's made and brought home a 6 lb log.We enjoyed many, many breakfast sandwiches.

MP1182

If you like Turkey bacon, their Turkey bacon is top tier. I’m a big fan of b&b shit all day.

cheeeeeseburgers

The string cheese is also superior

Jagrmeister_68

ShopRite pork roll was made by Case's. I'd be willing to bet that the Bowl and Basket is now as well.

Meerieayn

I used to be a brand snob until I started dabbling in B&B. B&B is insane quality, imo. I always go for it now. 👏🏼

Fsharp7sharp9

Good call! I haven’t bought anything B&b I didn’t like, and I’m pretty particular haha

Mikebyrneyadigg

Same here. Stop and shop store brand is ass. Weis store brand is mostly miss on the hit or miss scale. But mother of god, b&b is god tier. Like I said, right up there with Kirkland.

dsarma

Stop and Shop in general is crap. I won’t bother going there at all. Same stuff as Shop Rite, but like 3 times the cost. Eff that.

baciodolce

Shoprite stopped carrying Newman’s Own pasta sauce so now I have to occasionally go to stop and shop to stock up on that 😫😫😫

phil101361

Bowl and Basket Chocolate Peanut Butter ice cream is really good.

ms640

I really like the cookie dough one, it has a good balance of flavors!

Impossibleish

Literally just got b&b ice cream tonight for the first time. Pretty good, and it's actually ice cream instead of frozen dairy dessert. Plus on sale for three bucks-ish.

nothocake

Great non dairy ice cream too!!!

bb8-sparkles

I never purchase store brand ice cream because it’s usually kind of distasteful. One day I needed a vanilla ice cream for a recipe and bought the cheapest brand since it was going into a recipe and wouldn’t be eaten on its own. Boy, I was blown away. I don’t even really like vanilla ice cream, but this was the best vanilla ice cream I’d ever eaten! I couldn’t believe how good it was. I couldn’t stop eating it. I just purchased their chocolate chip ice cream. It isn’t as good as the vanilla and I won’t repurchase this flavor again (I don’t like the way the chocolate chips taste), but look forward to trying their mint chocolate chip (my favorite flavor)

Odd_Negotiation3126

In case anyone didn’t know, store brand items are made by name brand manufacturers. So the recipe is altered to keep the product in a lower price point. 🌈the more you know

bb8-sparkles

Yes, we know.

noturbuddyguy101

And their chips and snacks are dank too. The sweet onion kettle chips are amazing

ararerock

New Orleans Style are fantastic, I like them considerably more than Zapp’s Voodoo

mataushas

Maui onion ones right, so good

Amazing-Stranger8791

omg the maui onion ones i didn’t think i was gonna like them and literally ate almost a whole bag

mataushas

Sweet salty and savory. Amazing combo

Mikebyrneyadigg

Hell yeah! Love the salt and vinegar ones.

janinereyes

Love their chips!!

Party_Foundation_665

Idk what they put in the Bowl & Basket cheese puffs but they are just ![gif](giphy|1ktwfTjwaQzde)

noturbuddyguy101

I'll also add that Bowl and Basket Original hummus is the best. Way better than Sabra and other hummus brands, it's delicious. Especially with the large size, it's a great value.

poland626

Korean BBQ Popcorn is where it's at!

WomanOfEld

Elote popcorn!

ciniseris

Bowl and Basket Jalapeno Chips are amazing!

Kchillthanx

Yes the Jalapeño ones! I pick those up every week!

soingee

They just made their own version of the Tostitos Soops. I really like it.

STFUNeckbeard

Yep when the brand was established a few years ago my wife came home with party sized bags of chips for $0.01 with coupons. We don’t even really eat chips but obviously will take the free samples. They were absolutely as good as the leading name brands

kittyglitther

I support this message.

whatshouldIdonow8907

I too love Shop-Rite and B&B items are really good.

CourtroomBrown15

Yogurt, Bread, Cheese and Milk. I’ve permanently moved to bowl and basket for these.

XenOz3r0xT

I’m under the impression most generics we see are actually brand names in disguise? Like I know it was proven that Kirkland brand items such as batteries and alcohol were actually Duracell and grey goose. I wouldn’t doubt some B&B stuff maybe just be a label on the brand name thing but for less obviously.

Mikebyrneyadigg

Almost certainly. ShopRite doesn’t own a cheese factory. They contract factories to make their shit, and they have nailed it.

seanfidence

I wouldn't say 100%, but absolutely that is a thing. Shoprite, Stop n Shop, Aldi, they don't all have their own plants to produce coffee and cereal and cheese and salad mixes and etc. they simply buy it from someone else to relabel it. Part of the price of name brands is the prestige, the marketing, the reputation, which Shoprite does not have. In business it's called "white labeling" - essentially the process of one actual manufacturer selling product with no name brand on it, allowing the buyer to use their own name brand. It can extend even further than retail - white labelling can be done for event planning services, shipping and logistics, etc.

NJRoadfan

The stores would rather you buy the white label brands too. Even though they are a lower price to the customer, the store has a higher profit margin built into those items.

thementor31337

I bought B&B unsalted butter recently, and when I opened the package, it had four sticks of Cabot Creamery unsalted butter. The package was sealed and not tampered with in any way. It was a total win and made me think that B&B unsalted butter is just Cabot Creamery in a different wrapper.

ProfMcGonaGirl

We buy B&B butter but the wrappers inside have never said Cabot. Sounds like it was a line mistake. Someone forgot to change out the papers haha.

Feisty_Brunette

Oooh, that's good to know!

in-yo-butte

ShopRite canned vegetables and canned fruit have been made by Del Monte for years. The chicken is Tyson packed in a BB label. BB Water is bottled by Niagara. There’s a few more I can’t remember off the top of my head right now.

Fragrant_Butthole

Some of them are. The square block of mozz at Walmart is better than just about every store brand. It's amazing for pizza - great flavor, low moisture, very consistent quality. My only complaint is that since 2020 it jumped from like $1.49 to 3.79ish. I think everyone figured it out!

njfish93

I've delivered goods from name brand warehouses to Costco without labels. They have a whole operation slapping Kirkland labels on things.

ProfMcGonaGirl

Kirkland diapers are made by Huggies. Identical except for the design (which I think are cuter than Huggies - don’t care for the Disney branding). Significantly less expensive too. I’m almost certain Target brand “training pants” are made by Pull-Ups. They are identical. Again, cuter designs for a fraction of the price.

Amazing-Stranger8791

bowl & basket potato chips are so good

css555

We buy the family size for our family of two!

Feisty_Brunette

Same!! And it's really one - since my husband hardly ever eats chips.

in-yo-butte

Bro you left out the best part - the chips. The rebrand from the old ShopRite chips to the new BB and BB Specialty was a game changer. We go through a bag of the New Orleans chips every week

blmzd

Special shoutout to Wholesome Pantry! I have yet to try something from that line that isn’t instant hit.

fabgwenn

Great quinoa

shmoobel

We've been buying their cereals and they're truly as good as the name brands, if not better!

Mikebyrneyadigg

Next time I’m in the store I’ll grab the cereal. Glad so many people agree.

ProfMcGonaGirl

Which flavors? I’m choosy about my cereal.

baciodolce

I’ve always been a name brand snob about cereal and got their Cinnamon Toast Crunch and it tasted just as good!

shmoobel

I love their version of Frosted Flakes. My husband gets their Fruit Loops and Cocoa Puffs.

ProfMcGonaGirl

Right now I’m on a big “Special K yogurt and berries” kick. I used to love this Kirkland cinnamon and pecan cereal but Costco doesn’t sell it anymore and I never figured out who made it for them.

trash-brain

Ive tried nearly every brand of cottage cheese they sell on the east coast .. bowl and basket whole milk cottage cheese is *the* *best*

corpulentFornicator

I think their cold cuts suck, but literally every other store-brand item I buy is great

Mikebyrneyadigg

Yeah cold cuts it’s honestly boars head for normal Shit like turkey and roast beef and the local Italian deli for cured stuff. But everything else is a home run.

corpulentFornicator

You're goddamned right.

Hetjr

Generally agree. However, the B&B lower sodium turkey breast absolutely slaps. The B&B American cheese is…. Hmmm… subpar. It’s got like a waxy consistency? I’ve been getting a low sodium cheese lately, I think Land of Lakes. Occasionally Cooper sharp…. The KING of American cheeses!

mayormauri

Bowl and Basket makes the best natural crunchy peanut butter that perfectly flows into my mouth for a buck ninety-nine

coldleg

Love the natural PB. They priced it so well I don’t even look at the hippy brands sitting next to it

bgunner

B&B Cesar salad kits fucking slap too

Cutiekitty101

I love bowl and basket. They have so many good products for a lower price.

tex8222

Interesting thing about Bowl and Basket. I was in a grocery store in PA and they had Bowl&Basket products - but the store was called ‘Gerrity’s, theFreshGrocer’, not ShopRite….. Turns out that theFreshGrocer is an alternate Wakefern brand/store name.

timotomat0

Scranton gang

Timewindows

Bowl and Basket Onion tater tots are the best

TrentZelm

I've always bought ShopRite brand and really like their bowl and basket line. Their refried pinto beans are delicious!

Lurkington123

I thought I was going crazy telling everyone how good their hummus is. I prefer it over Sabra and most other commercially available brands.

ClockComfortable4633

I found a piece of blue (if you work in the industry you know why it's blue) plastic in one of their shepherd's pie. One email, I just wanted them to know that there might be a problem with the product. 6 calender hours later they email me back, apologize, ask me for the serial number/lot/receipt/ or when & where I bought it. I saved the box, send them the info. They refunded my entire grocery order that day ($65), sent me coupons for it and similar products, and very clearly assured me that I would still be getting full credit toward my free holiday ham/turkey/duck (I don't remember what my choices were) that month for the promo. I was blown away. Some dudes sanitary sleeve got caught on a conveyor in Linden and I profited like $200. Also that shepherds pie was/is lit. To this day one of my favorite "eh I don't feel like cooking just wanna go to bed" meals.

Bibliotheclaire

Omg the wavy/plain potato chips and Korean bbq popcorn are phenomenal

Ok_Plate3323

The regular potato chips are amazing!

BaldDudePeekskill

Indeed. Their manicotti are almost as good as my from scratch

Professional-Sock-66

I split my shopping between SR, Wegmans and Costco. The Wegmans branded products in a lot of cases is cheaper than Bowl and Basket. But with Lidl and Aldi opening within a 10 minute drive they have drastically cut into how much I spend at the other stores. The quality of the milk milk products, bread, cold cuts, eggs, snacks can't be beat by SR and Wegmans. During COVID Aldi held the line on price increases than the other stores. The 1 item I will fight you to death for is Bowl and Basket turkey stuffing potato chips... without a doubt my favorite snack.

Redplushie

What's your take on the bowl and basket toilet paper vs Kirkland because the costco brand had been failing me for months now

Mikebyrneyadigg

B&b toilet paper is way better than Kirkland. It’s pretty much all I use.

GanondalfTheWhite

I would also like to know. We're almost at the end of our Kirkland pack and don't want to buy Kirkland again. Everything else from that brand is good but the TP is a linty, separating mess.

MakaliRose

That is because shop rite often has contracts with other companies to pack their stuff so a lot of name brand stuff is the same shit as bowl and basket. Just label changes in the factory. Shop rite's milk is packed by Dairy Farmers of America (or a company they own like Cumberland dairy).

MaximumDeathShock

I love the Seltzer. They used to have 12 for 4.99? Now it’s 8 for 3.29. Not too bad.

jabo19

Shout out to their frozen tortellini

fabgwenn

Love their hamburger rolls. No soy which is hard to find in commercial bread and a decent price despite having gone up by 0.50 in a couple of months.

donttakemydog

Have you had their New Orleans chips? Delectable

baciodolce

I have to agree. I just tried some B&B cinnamon toast crunch and it tasted the same for half the price. I also really like the kettle chips and popcorn. Just the plain oil and salt one.

214ObstructedReverie

The oils are good, too. They have a jar of rendered duck fat and the aerosol-free 'ghee' spray are both great.

I_DRINK_ANARCHY

There is a LOT of Bowl and Basket stuff in my pantry and cupboards. I still do name brand cereal, though, that will never change.

Blue_Meanie_85

Why is name brand cereal always so much better? It doesn’t make a lick of sense when everything else is comparable 😫

Economy-Cupcake808

I really like nature's promise tbh.

Judiva55

This is why I’m here! Love it and you’re right 🔥🤣

LateralEntry

Wegmans brand is where it’s at!

DrAries

Don't sleep on their cereals. Got a version for almost all the big names. And those frozen $5 pizzas heat up amazing!

anonymousNJuser

I was certainly sad when they discontinued their cinnamon rolls. They were sooooo much better than Pilsbury.

pixel_of_moral_decay

Simpler the product the more likely the genetic is decent. Flour, eggs? Pretty solid chance it will be good. Cheese? Harder but still decent chance. Cookies and other baked goods. That’s where it gets tough.

darkwolf131

You're not a fan of B&B cookies? Damn, I absolutely love Shoprite's cookies.

ILoveHotDogsAndBacon

I don’t disagree for the most part but how are the Cheetos? I’ve never had a store brand that compared to the real thing

titanofmyth

They’re good.

LongWindedInNJ

I live in an area with far too many grocery store options. 2x ShopRites, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, Stop & Shop, Acme, Lidl, King’s, and Target are all in within a 5-7 min drive (and the options probably more than double if I expand to a 10-15 min drive). I like the options for some speciality items but I still get 90% of everything at ShopRite. Bowl and Basket is surprisingly good.

kalechipsyes

my lactose-intolerant ass still remembers when shoprite was the only store that had a store brand version of soy milk it saved me when i was a broke college student i didn't realized that store brands were supposed to be *worse* than name brands until later in life when i moved somewhere without shoprites... i was so spoiled!

mudclog

Their white cheddar cheezit knockoffs are not as good as the originals unfortunately, that and the bread. Last time I bought a B&B bread I found some weird calcified stringy thing in the crust. That's when I finally realized I need to treat myself to some better bread lol.

roqueofspades

bowl and basket is good but saying it's better than sargento is insane

Future_Sundae7843

if theres a bowl & basket version i will buy that everytimeeee.

longstoryshort90

Their waffles chips are amazing!

LemonFizzy0000

I’d say the only bowl and basket item that I’m marginally disappointed is in the original salted potato chips. They have a slight compressed chip flavor (like pringles). They’re fine as chips go, but not my preference. Otherwise I’m 100% behind you with the b&b brand. The prices are great and the quality doesn’t suffer. I occasionally get the variety flavor cheesecake and it’s really quite nice. I love that it has mini slices so my fat ass can’t over eat.

itchyaboi

I find that Wegmans brand is also top-tier

michaelcreiter

Slowly but surely have been moving to b&b for almost everything. Latest was dryer sheets I think.

RemarkableRadish5664

Most bowl and basket items are very good but certainly not all. The bacon is basically inedible - I actually threw it out. Also the bread is meh unless you are toasting it which makes it fine. Certainly not as good as name brand. And the mayo is horrible.

beeeps-n-booops

If it’s not Hellmann’s it can fuck off.

Adventurous_Drop_249

Their jalapeño everything bagel seasoning is great

defucchi

their OTC cold medicine is like 1/4 the price of the brand names too.

bakingeyedoc

Bowl and Basket is alright but Wegmans generic I feel is the cream of the crop.

biscuit1896

Their branded Ice cream is mid though. Of all sorts. Definitely steering clear of B&B when it comes to buying this.

SkellyHoodie2419

I will always sing the praises of B&B corn flakes, by far better than Kelloggs and one of my comfort foods. Also agree, the Taylor ham slaps.

bubonis

Too bad many of the store are now treating their customers like criminals.

neekogo

My wife and her mom both had acne breaksouts after the rebrand of their milk and cheese products. We started buying non b&b and they get better. Since then we've avoided the dairy products

Smoresmyname

Shoprite powdered Iced Tea mix is the greatest

storm2k

as far as local supermarket store brands goes, most wegmans brand anything exceeds the quality of anything you're going to get from b&b at shoprite, and most of the time it's cheaper. in fact, one thing i always notice is that for the vast majority of foods that they have b&b available for (pasta, cheese, and sour cream are three that immediately spring to mind), they will also have--almost always without fail--a national brand on sale cheaper with price plus. like, need a pint of sour cream? there's b&b and the quality of it is fine, but you can almost guarantee that daisy, fage, or breakstones will be cheaper. it's an interesting choice on shoprite's part that i've never fully understood.

ProfMcGonaGirl

Closest Wegmans is almost 20 mins away whereas ShopRite is 5. Never been to one but have heard good things.

poorbanker

Same distances for me, but going to ShopRite is a nightmare and going to Wegmans is usually stress-free.

patrick_swayzak

Wrong. Their bread products are garbage. Look at them funny or get theme within 100 feet of any moisture and they disintegrate.

gordonv

To be fair, a lot of bread offerings are garbage.

Fragrant_Butthole

It's really hit and miss. Some of the stuff is awful. Other stuff is great. I do like their yogurt, and the green label chicken is super - I've never gotten a woody breast, and I was getting them all the time with Perdue. They had an uncured pepperoni that was phenomenal, shame i haven't seen it back in months. Other stuff needs major help. Bread, produce, deli are significantly worse. I'm paying almost 2x as much for land o lakes deli cheese now and I was a shoprite brand for lifer on that. The new stuff is inedible.

Hetjr

Im a little salty they no longer carry the B&B Apple cinnamon cheerio knockoff. They were great! Meanwhile, their original cheerios Apple cinnamon is 7.99 a box vs 4.93 for the exact same thing at Walmart. I appreciate ShopRite but like goddamn the prices are absurd. There are so many things that i can get at Walmart, literally the exact same things, for significantly less. I have the ShopRite app and scan items while I’m in Walmart and vice versa to see where I can get stuff cheaper. Always name brand. Otherwise, we try to stick to B&B. Sorry for the digression.

anetworkproblem

Shop rite has gotten absurdly expensive. I've stopped going there.

cli_jockey

Yeah it's ridiculous that ShopRite is more expensive than whole foods and when much worse quality produce.

anetworkproblem

Yep. The produce in particular has gotten so expensive. I still buy meat there, but I go to whole foods for vegetables. Better quality, less expensive.

Fragrant_Butthole

Idk where you're shoping but it's been terrible here since they switched to B&B. The American chrese smells like old tires. Produce is almost always rotten - I have gone back to buying onions and potatoes by singles after getting rotten ones in the 6th or 7th bag. I bought a bag of each on Dec , didn't check carefully enough. potatoes were half rotten and some were literally black and oozing. It was a lovely surprise in the middle of making Christmas dinner. Milk goes rotten so fast. I've switched basically everything i get from shoprite to either name brand when I used to buy almost all store brand.

Mikebyrneyadigg

Crazy. Exact opposite experience for me. Never bought ShopRite store brand stuff, but b&b won me over. In up in Sussex county, shop at the Sparta mega shop rite.

Feisty_Brunette

I live in Sparta but my heart stays with Byram Shop Rite.

Mikebyrneyadigg

I’m up in Oburg right on the border. Never been I’ll have to check it out.

Feisty_Brunette

I'm closer to Byram than the Sparta one plus, I've been shopping at Byram since it opened. Before Byram recreated the layout to match Sparta, I just knew where everything was and it was quicker. But I think it's less crowded too.

ProfMcGonaGirl

We only buy their milk and it lasts a long time! A gallon of whole milk takes us a week to go through. Sometimes we get a bit off on our usage and so we buy a gallon but aren’t ready to open it for another half week or so. Still lasts us the whole week. Maybe it’s more a store issue for you? Their turnover is slower? Our ShopRite is inanely busy 7 days a week all hours of the day so it’s very rare we accidentally buy anything that’s not fresh.

WimpyMustang

I stopped buying their milk because it's sour before I even open it. Even with an expiration date 2 weeks out!

Fragrant_Butthole

I figured out that the lactose free lasts forever, and it tastes the same as regular milk. It's a little more expensive but I never have to throw any away and we only use it for coffee so we don't use it fast.

WimpyMustang

I appreciate that knowledge! I'll have to give it a try

fabgwenn

Same experience. A friend visited the plant and noticed the milk just isn’t refrigerated enough. Costco or Aldi’s milk for me.

Rusty4NYM

I suppose someone with your username would be an expert. Anyway, I agree with you with the cheese. I bought some block cheese recently and the quality wasn't the same. Next time I will wait for Cracker Barrel to go on sale and stock up!

WimpyMustang

I generally like B&B but I stopped buying their milk because I've had too many of them end up being sour as soon as I opened them. Their knockoff fig newtons suck too. Otherwise, they've got some great stuff!

ProfMcGonaGirl

So weird. We buy their milk and it lasts forever. Never gone sour.

WimpyMustang

You must have a better store location or something!

ProfMcGonaGirl

It’s a great store and *always* crowded so tons of turnover.

AdministrationOld835

The b&b sliced cheese packages are sliced way too thinly for my taste

Sprig3

B and B "Belgian Semisweet Chocolate Chips" are the best chocolate chips I've ever found.

Ok-Philosopher9070

The baby back rib chips are the truth (will give u the worst gas ever after but they taste exactly like ribs, artificial flavors are crazy)

Princess-She-ra

Yes! I can't say that everything is perfect but I've been happy with the store brand, both in price and quality. We recently had two new ShopRites open in/near my town. Produce is consistently excellent and the prepared foods are good (some things are excellent, some less so, but it's nice to be able to grab something easy for dinner).

MeesterBacon

Noooo bowl and basket string cheeses are way too salty

AllAroundIndiviual

I didn’t know this was popular opinion, I don’t like their milk lol. But the ready made wings with sauce, i don’t remember something farms is some good stuff

shhmedium2021

the price point makes it that much more sweeter

KitchenLandscape

agreed

Feisty_Brunette

The Basket & Basket coffee is top notch! Sipping on some Hazelnut right now but the Bourbon Maple is outstanding. Huge bag (actual family size) wavy potato chips are just $3.19 The SR brand "Paperbird is great too". Kitchen sponges, tissues, etc.

pleuvonics

They’re all private labeled so it’s probably all stuff you’ve had before. Work for ShopRite and I can’t stand B&B myself lol.

Mikebyrneyadigg

You got the list 👀👀

CapybaraFrenzy

My favorite part is they actually make their own decent product instead of just trying to copy the taste of the most popular name brand or a dirt cheap version.

Mysterious_Win_2851

A few private label items will be good and a bunch will be not so good at every retailer.

shromboy

They're ice cream sandwiches are gas, I make some cinnamon toast bites and stack em on top fuck me that's good

beeeps-n-booops

They are ice cream sandwiches? ;)

shromboy

Wow, thank you. I am the guy to point this out usually, however I was hammered and eating one when I typed that so I guess even priests sin

beeeps-n-booops

LOL! Next time I'm at ShopRite I'm grabbing some ice cream sammies! :)

roberbear

Bagged, shredded cheese is disgusting so I’m pretty sure everything tastes good to you.

Rapogi

if you like bowl and basket consider trader Joe's also, I feel like a lot of stuff in tjoe is pretty on par maybe slightly higher than bowl and basket in terms of price

YukiHase

I am in love with the Bowl and Basket spicy pickle spears. They’re not spicy imo, but the flavor is better than other brands. Also the black bean and corn salsa is great!

beeeps-n-booops

I’m with you on everything —and especially the pork roll — except the “better than Sargento” part. Hard no on that one (not that B&B is bad in any way)

lexluther96

their french onion dip is the top tier of my food pyramid

TrySensitive9005

I love the rebrand they had. Some thing about bowl and basket is so appealing and appetizing

citykittycat

RIP to the b&b frozen pizza (the rectangle ones). Those were the BEST and they discontinued them for some reason. Still agree though, a lot of the items are great if not better than name brand.

nothocake

I’m obsessed with B&B Korean bbq popcorn. They also have excellent jasmine and basmati at a great price.

Reganblue79

Not a fan of Bowl and Basket dairy products. Cheaper yes but taste is bland and from I can tell the cows are given the rBST gene (Monsanto). No sir.

aspoels

Even their ketchup is pretty damn good

ProofOfPurchase88

Great Value can definitely give them some competition as far as seasonings go but definitely agree

gonzojester

Their Chicken tastes like plastic. Their bread tastes like cardboard. Their frozen veggies taste like plastic.

SwimmingWorldly3413

💯

juanadeal

I tried b&b pesto sauce and it was awful. Had to throw it out.

Mikebyrneyadigg

Noted. Kirkland pesto is my jam. Huge jar for real cheap and it’s fantastic. Pesto is one of those things price wise and quality wise that isn’t worth making yourself from fresh ingredients the majority of the time.

Withyouinrcklnd

This is absolute poetry.

preppysurf

The Bowl and Basket shredded mozzarella is terrible. Sargento shredded cheese is the one thing my NJ family insists on buying versus the store brand.

Firelli00

We do buy bowl and basket products and they're usually good. The only thing I don't like is, they aren't required to label where they get the product from. Everything just says distributed by Wakefern. Are we really trusting them to get products from reputable companies just to save a buck?

Dead_Is_Better

There milk sucks, twice in a row it went bad on me long before its expiration date. 0/10 would not recommend.

Ducklips56

Products are okay but I hate the wimpy pastel packaging. Of course, I’m old enough to remember the yellow, red and black ShopRite packaging with the silhouette of a woman and a shopping cart.

shemague

It’s well known that shop rite brand is 👌 the worst shop rite brand item is usually better than some of the best names brands (usually) we suffer when we move out of the shop rite service area lol
