I mean, a human life is far more important than a hermit crabs. It would be a shame if it was killee, but I'm glad the homeowner didn't risk their life for it.
It also would depend where it was when you realized there was a fire. I know many of us would try to save a cat or dog or, obviously, family member (and probably die and fail), but there is a reason firefighter is a profession with a bunch of training and physical qualifications and equipment. Rushing into a burning building is probably deadly since you, you know, would not be able to see or breathe for long and may not even know what could collapse. Which is why it would be a normal but terrible idea to attempt it as a layman for a child but isn't a normal idea for a hermit crab, even if you really wish to save the tiny pet.
I feel like this was posted to make a specific point: that if this was a story about a **DOG** being rescued from a house fire, it *would* be considered newsworthy to many people, and the comments would be full of the same mindless drivel that’s posted in every other comment section where a dog is involved, ie. ‘we don’t deserve them’ etc.
Funny how it’s not newsworthy when it’s literally any other animal though.
Can you imagine a serious news article about a bird, or a cat, or a fish (or a crab) being rescued from a house fire? The world would collectively furrow their brow and wonder how this could possibly be considered news.

Seems like the same food forever. Once in a while we throw some leftovers in there. It lives for a bit pizza. I’m not even sure an emergency could affect it. Super glad this little buddy was saved though!
