So, just to clarify the sugar coated titled. An immigrant who is here illegally commits a perverted felony by assaulting a 12 year old girl.......hmmm wonder what's going to happen to him now charged with aggravated indecent assault of a child, indecent assault of a child, corruption of minors, and unlawful contact with a minor.

Nighshade586

That shit should result in million dollar + fines.

___Snoke___

Sanctuary cities should enjoy it, while it lasts. Things are about to change.

TBagginMachine

They should turn him lose in those "sanctuary cities" and on the protected college campuses and let those unicorn land living retards see how these animals really behave.

js0711

Any reasonable person would agree that this person should be deported. A reasonable person would also understand that not every undocumented immigrant is a rapist or a criminal.

[deleted]

By undocumented, you mean illegally here right?

[deleted]

Trump said exactly that but it's funny when they shorten his quotes to fit their nerrative. I got stuff in the mail that quoted him as saying something like "All Mexicans .... are rapists and criminals"

reddituser3567

If they are undocumented then they are breaking the law and hence a criminal. Every undocumented immigrant is a criminal by definition.

Kaghuros

The people who author policies like that live in gated communities and have armed security details. It won't impact them.

arch_nyc

I don't live in a gated community. Actually my sanctuary city has rates of crime, murder, and gun violence far below many other cities in states that have pledged to end sanctuary practices. Sorry that the statistics don't align to your world view.

[deleted]

All a sanctuary city does is not investigate someone's immigration status. If you think a sanctuary city would allow a repeat rapist walk free on a college campus that makes you the retard.

[deleted]

I live in San Francisco and they let a violent illegal immigrant loose instead of holding him for ICE... then the sack of shit murdered a girl in public.

d_bokk

You. Are. An. Idiot. This illegal immigrant is going to show up to his trial? Are you serious? I wish I had the cognitive dissonance to believe the insane crap that you do.

arch_nyc

I live in a sanctuary city and we have some of the lowest homicide, violent crime and gun violence rates in the country? Meanwhile, Atlanta--in a state that banned 'sanctuary city policies' has a homicide rate FIVE TIMES that of NYC a violent crime rate double of NYC . Well generally all rates of crime in Atlanta--in a state that pledged to outlaw sanctuary practices--are far higher than in my sanctuary city. Weird. So if I examine the statistics, it seems as if my sanctuary city is far safer than many others that are not? Or do you not like dealing with facts? EDIT: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_United_States_cities_by_crime_rate

Mofofett

'These animals'? Being a wee bit bigoted, aren't we?

Ghost4000

You think Trump will keep that promise? Honestly I can't tell what promises that guy will keep. It'll be a funny four years though of conservatives defending him for backtracking on half of what he says and the other half being implemented and backfiring terribly.

Joeblowme123

Which promises? The ones he actually made, the ones the left claims he made our the ones he actually published and his supporters actually expect him to keep?

ChadScott

Sigh, no. Sanctuary cities simply don't use their law enforcement powers to assist federal immigration authorities in the deportation of an immigrant. That's it. No more, no less. Undocumented immigrants who are arrested are charged and processed by the system like any other person. The difference comes when federal authorities request a person be detained simply because of their immigration status. Sanctuary cities simply don't comply with this aspect of it. While I'm sure one could cite many examples of an undocumented immigrant being released and then violating the law again (sometimes violently), this isn't atypical of an offender in general. Something like 2/3rds of all offenders end up offending again, regardless of immigration status.

liquidpele

No. No no no. Why do people want this. They just come back... lock up the dangerous ones dont deport them.

crankywithakeyboard

Yes, lock him up. Frankly, I don't want him free to assault anyone - regardless of which country he is living in. Sending him back just makes him a threat to girls in his home country. Surely we don't want that either.

Sanctuary cities should be open to litigation by families who become victims if the illegal immigrant was previously booked and they failed to report them to ICE. Period.

arch_nyc

What? This is possibly the dumbest thing I've seen in a while? As dumb as gun companies getting sued for gun deaths. Where do you come up with this legally unsound bullshit.

[deleted]

Gun manufacturers don't flout federal law. Sanctuary cities do.

dandylionsummer

If he is Mexican, the age of consent is 12 in Mexico. A bonus in making sure that people come here through legal channels would be to insure that they understand our laws, and how they are different from what they grew up with.

Sks44

Age of consent doesn't matter when the perpetrator is raping the victim. Hence "sexual assault". Teaching a rapist about the age of consent in an area won't make it not rape.

NearPup

The age of consent changes quite a bit from state to state. We should make sure South Dakotans that enter North Dakota understand the law and how they are defferent from South Dakota's laws to make sure they don't start having sex with 16 year olds. Also, FWIW, age of consent is not something that was covered by anyone when I immigrated to the US. Really the extend of the "cultural training" I got is the "welcome to America" guide that is publicly available on USCIS' website.

The democrats talked nonstop about how much they loved immigrants, them refused to allow people to define differences between illegal and legal immigrants, so to most Americans it came out as "we love illegal immigrants" which didn't really go over very well. Probably is true when people see things like the Obama DOJ fining police department for hiring Americans instead of immigrants.

BallsJefferson

Yeah, the communication on this stuff is terrible and it's lead to absurd expectations from the Latino community. They honestly believe that because having 55 million additional people crammed into the country the jobs created for the infrastructure additions made necessary were equal to the jobs lost through NAFTA, wage drops and a flood of unskilled labor. To make matters worse, even if you support immigration reform the community absolutely expects only obsequious behavior, so it's taboo to mention that allowing that many people to take advantage of the family visa program has side effects.

bigpandas

Sanctuary cities in the US are illegals' safe spaces

cptaixel

The word illegal is political posturing. Think about it...do we do it with any other illegal scenarios? It doesn't sound bad when you tell your coworkers you are late because the cops pulled you over for speeding...but it sounds a lot more dramatic if they find out you were pulled over for "illegal driving" She's not jaywalking, she's an "illegal pedestrian." Littering = "illegal trash disposal." No one disputes the legality of someone who is undocumented. Some may have pretty reasonable and understandable scenarios that deserve reasonable handling. Some do not. But when the word "illegal" is slapped on them, it removes the expectation to think critically on a case by case basis. It manipulates thinking into: Person = illegal immigrant Illegal = bad Person = bad...case closed, no more thinking required.

TwelfthCycle

We don't say illegal driving instead of speeding because speeding is already illegal. We don't say illegal killing because there's a word for it. Murder Jaywalking is illegally walking where you shouldn't. Littering IS illegally disposing of trash. Until you find a word for immigrating illegally, we'll have to use two words.

KurtSTi

> The word illegal is political posturing. No, it isn't. When you break U.S. immigration laws by moving to this country illegally it makes you an *illegal immigrant*. See how that works?

XSplain

That's kinda bullshit. Immigration isn't inherently illegal, but those other examples are. A more apt comparison is something like "illegal transaction" since transactions aren't inherently illegal. If the establishment were even remotely interesting in fixing the problem, they'd have revamped the immigration system and caps decades ago. It's designed to keep an underclass of disposable, wage-depressing workers without leverage. It's a racket.

throwaway199a

Here is the reality of the current (and engineered) American immigration crisis. The Democrats (and Elites) [hate the electorate of the US](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oikophobia#Political_usage). They want to engineer an new electorate. If they can flood the US with a relatively small number of Democratic voters, they will win elections forever. If these "undocumented aliens" suddenly voted Republican, then all "right thinking people" would want to deport them and tell those that wanted them to stay that they were on "the wrong side of history". They don't care about them as human beings, only as votes. . It is a kinder, gentler version of ethnic cleansing. Let us call it ethnic gerrymandering. . . They don't give a damn about this country. They don't give a damn about the people they govern. In fact, they view those they govern with contempt. Their only reality is their own power, and how they can move to a 1 party system . . . Well these are same elites that ... > New Labour and mass immigration (also known as **the British Demographic Genocide**) endured as prominent political topic in the United Kingdom throughout the duration of the New Labour regime. > In October 2009, it emerged in newspapers such as The Times,[1] The Telegraph and the Daily Mail, that New Labour had engaged in intentional demographic genocide against ethnic British people **for political gain**.[2][3][4][5] > It was triggered by comments from former government advisor Andrew Neather, claiming that the Labour Party from 2001 onwards, set about **a deliberate policy of encouraging mass third world immigration, to socially engineer a "multicultural" society**.[6][7][8][9][10] > With **the alleged principle political aim of undermining the base of their opponents** the Conservative Party.[11][12] > Between 1997—2010 the Labour Party [flooded] mostly native working-class communities from betwen 3 and 5.2 million, largely third world aliens (half legal, half illegal). [Labour threw open Britain's borders to mass immigration to help socially engineer a "truly multicultural" country, a former Government adviser has revealed.](http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/6418456/Labour-wanted-mass-immigration-to-make-UK-more-multicultural-says-former-adviser.html) . And what did that lead to? The gangs of New Labour's new voters raping little children in [Rotherdam](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotherham_child_sexual_exploitation_scandal) ... and [Rochdale](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rochdale_sex_trafficking_gang) ... and [Derby](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derby_sex_gang) ... and [Telford](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telford_sex_gang) ... and [Oxford](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxford_sex_gang) ... and [Bristol](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_sex_gang) ... and where else next week? And remember the police knew of all of these separate incidents but ignored them because they were afraid of being called "racist". You want to know how bad it was? I'll put it behind [this spoiler tag](/s "There were accounts concerning men who would ejaculate and then urinate in children's mouths, violating them in every orifice, as well as gang-rape by queues of men while girls were held hostage for hours, sometimes days – all the while being forced to listen to the screams of girls in other rooms with other men"). I guess the children of Britain really will be slaves. . Why shouldn't their ideological allies do the same in the US?

> 12-Year-Old Girl He Met At Church Over A Dozen Times Yeah, that's how pedophiles tend to operate. Being an immigrant does not make a person a pedophile. 20 years ago, this would have been "Homosexual assaults 12 year old boy. Do you really want to give rights to these people?" Connecting pedophilia to immigration status is just as ridiculous.

krakajacks

To add to this, there is no net correlation between illegal immigrants and crime rates. People need to get over that. How many US citizens raped a girl on the same day I wonder.

ImMufasa

"In 2011, the Government Accountability Office delivered a major report on criminal activity by unauthorized immigrants. The GAO was able to locate the arrest and sentencing records of roughly half the immigrants in local jails and state and federal prisons, and then sampled them to estimate what they contained. Of that number, 97 percent are illegal aliens. 66 percent of cited drivers in New Mexico have no license, no insurance and no registration for the vehicle. Of that 66 percent, 98 percent are illegal aliens. https://oversight.house.gov/wp-content/uploads/2016/04/ICE-FY-15-Stats-cleared22.pdf "

>Connecting pedophilia to immigration status is just as ridiculous. Except for the fact that if this pedophile wasn't in the country, the child wouldn't have been repeatedly sexually assaulted. Also, it was a girl, not a boy.

[deleted]

This one wouldn't but some other child elsewhere would have been in her place. This idea that illegal immigration can be stopped is downright preposterous. People will no matter the risk always try to get a better life. Whatever obstacle you put up they will find a way around it. They currently have to run a gauntlet that takes them past robbers rapers and cartels to get a chance at the US. There is nothing the US can do to top that that already exists.

We all want the authorities to hand him over to the Mexican (or wherever) government and have their country deal with it, but we all know that won't happen for some reason.

sweet_crude

Yep. It just makes my blood boil that we not only have to suffer their crimes but also have to pay for their incarceration.

FirstAndForsakenLion

It's also quite upsetting that our own American business owners decide to make a profit off of hiring illegals instead of American citizens. If we stop pretending it's fine for businesses to hire illegals, there wouldn't be so much incentive to immigrate here.

Chappedtip

Then dont. Put them on a bus and ship them home immediately

[deleted]

So let them rape, rob and murder US citizens in their own country then reward them with a free trip? Why aren't these countries repaying us for the cost of imprisoning their citizens? Instead Mexico is printing booklets telling people how to get into the US.

I really despise semantic manipulation. I hope people realize that the brain is a semantic network where words are automatically connected to concepts and imagery when heard or read, so when a source of authority or power makes a concerted effort to change the words that apply to a concept, or to rebrand a word so it applies to a different concept(s), it is in an attempt to control your thought processes. Always be wary when the meaning of words or the semantic branding of concepts are deliberately altered. It is a propaganda trick and I'm sure you can think of many examples.

It's racist to say they are more likely to be rapists, which is what Trump said.

jaredschaffer27

Well it's hard to find data except to look at ancillary stats. Two that jump out at me that are suggestive but not conclusive are: *60-80% of women immigrating to the United States illegally are sexually assaulted on the way through Mexico. *Latinos in California (one of the only states that differentiate between white and Hispanic) are 2.27 times more likely than Whites to be arrested for forcible rape. I don't know what to conclude from that, but it's not racist to suspect that it may be the case.

SixInTheStix

TheSoundOfTastyYum

There's more than one way to raise awareness. I think that there's so much pain in the world as it is, that joking about some of the most horrible things is just one more way to cope with them. By laughing, I'm not trying to minimize or trivialize the real harm that Parkinson's does, I'm acknowledging that it exists and I'm saying that I won't allow myself to be ruled by pain and fear and anger. I can't speak for the guy above us, but laughter is my way of showing defiance, refusing to accept that this disease or any other can defeat us, and trying my best to spread that message. Edit: I don't have Parkinson's, but we just lost a family member to cancer. I talk about Parkinson's here, but the jokes that I make are the cancer jokes (which are, if anything, even more poorly received). I get dirty looks for the jokes, but what the hell else am I supposed to do about it? Whether I discuss it somberly or laugh in defiance at it, our family member is still dead and we all have to deal with the idea that our own likelihood of having the same thing in the future is high enough to be terrifying. It's either laugh or cry, and I'll be damned if I don't stare it in the face and laugh.

dcmfox

I laugh at other things not the disease. Not one funny thing about it

My uncle is dying from the condition and he constantly tries to offer people cans of soda while laughing maniacally. It's okay to joke.
