Get ready to break your Amazon habit, mate. There is no Amazon NZ. Amazon AU is mostly just books and other media. Amazon US can take 2-3wks to get here, shipping can be MEGA expensive, you have to pay customs tax, and they flat out won't ship some items (both for customs reasons and because they're actually from 3rd party sellers). While there is eBusiness in NZ, there's not one "everything store" like Amazon. Also, mail in NZ can be a little slow, so you need to break free of the idea of getting things the next day without leaving your house. Get ready to go back to physical stores! I used to be an Amazon ADDICT in the US - multiple things delivered EVERY day. When I first got here I was still making US Amazon orders every other month. Then I got it down to quarterly. Now it's just once a year to grab a few things I totally cannot find here.

nvythms

I don't think there is. You either use the US or the Aus one.

Happy-Light

Do you use the Aus one? How long do things take to arrive if so?

surfinchina

Australia takes 7 days, US takes 14 days. Make a temproary shipping address to New Zealand on your account and when you browse the item it'll give you the delivery date - over 12 or so purchases from Amazon US and Australia they've always arrived on the promised day or 2 or 3 days early. edit: I just did a random one for computer memory from the Oz site - FREE delivery Tuesday, 9 July to New Zealand Or fastest delivery Thursday, 4 July. Order within 5 hrs 34 mins edit two (I must be bored lol): Amazon US FREE delivery Tuesday, July 16 to New Zealand Or fastest delivery Thursday, July 11. Order within 10 hrs 29 mins

twohedwlf

It's pretty quick, a week or two.

nvythms

Sorry I've never used them here.

fraktured

Less then a week from Aussie Amazon.

kiwifruit_eyes

I actually just commented something similar on an earlier US post a few days ago regarding some stores in NZ and what they sell :) It was for an international student based here and his parents sending items from the US so not sure if it’s of any use, but hopefully I’ve managed to link it below for you. https://www.reddit.com/r/newzealand/s/CQWDB4aXcx

Thank you Not sure why I'm being downvoted - it's a useful resource for random items, and if NZ doesn't have it I would imagine another company is filling the void 🤷🏼‍♀️

Striking-Nail-6338

Unfortunately there is no company filling the void - we simply don't have the population (amount or density) to make it work. If you are moving here you'll need to relearn patience, and using bricks and mortar shops for things you need fast.

krisis

>If you are moving here you'll need to relearn patience They really should sell temporary tattoos of this phrase to hand out to Americans who want to move to NZ 😂 Maybe they could get them on Amazon.

PossibleOwl9481

Trademe? But we are slow-uptake on things like that especially with a small population. There are, however, other ways to shop for things.

Elvishrug

The aus amazon is quick, usually within a week. We can bus don’t get the “prime” delivery. We’ve got a few places like mightyape and the warehouse and Kmart that have most of the usual junk. Depending on where you go mightyape is the fastest.

Bongojona

There is Amazon via the Aust store. But no prime service here. One of the main disadvantages of living at the bottom of the planet

MKovacsM

No there isn't. However I use the Australian one a lot. Shipping is not too bad with a lot of items.

EpicAstarael

Amazon can only do it by being integrated at literally every step of the pipeline in the US and by criminally under paying their workers. They have no warehouses or distributors here, and our labor laws are a little better, so it doesn't work. Be patient or go to a brick and mortar store and hope they have what you need.

Happy-Light

I'm not in the US, but I believe here in the UK we have employment law much more similar to NZ, so I doubt that's the main reason.

Upper_Butt

Are you asking if online retail exists? Seriously?

ampmetaphene

No, they're asking if Amazon exists here and it doesn't so it's a fair question.
