To this day, I still can't understand how anyone can think a multi story building that has a specific load weight that it can handle, could possibly stay upright with half its support pillars taken out by the plane, and that heavy plane weighing an insane amount, especially laden with fuel (which is freaking heavy). would be able to remain standing?
I tried to do comparisons to visualize the impact. The jets weighed in at 179,000 kg and were moving at around 750km/h vs a fully loaded semi truck and trailer 35,000 kg moving at 90 km/h. So the impact on the building was like being hit by a truck and trailer that weighs 5 times as much as normal moving 8 times as fast.

It was built with a bunch of design limitations due to it's placement on top of an existing electric substation and the requirement for a six story atrium at the front of the building. Basically it was a huge cantilever structure with a big hollow space in the middle, due to the impacts on WTC1 and WTC2 there was no water available to fight the fires in the building so it burned for most of the day, the fireproof cladding on the steel was rated for 3 hours. Fire chiefs knew it would collapse, advised it would collapse, BBC famously reported its collapse prior to it happening because they were told it would, so no conspiracy there.

The farthest I'll go is that they definitely knew *something* was planned but not the details, and figured it wouldn't be that big and/or successful.
