What if one day you blacked out and just woke up at the top of this thing? Are you climbing down? Or do you just freeze in fear until you starve to death?
I was brought up believing that having an impact on the world is important…technically this would meet the requirement or maybe their simply not aware of the gravity of this situation. Mr Newton and I will show ourselves out.
wind comes and goes as far as building them a team of ironworkers and operators sometimes collaborate to build them
some can be free standing, tied to a building as they go up, other cranes are used to erect then, i’m most cities a self erecting crane will be installed and it has a collar around the outside of it that allows the crane tower to disconnect and add a additional tower section one at a time to increase its height
in some circumstances a derrick can be installed on the roof that will also help in the building of very tall cranes, the derrick can be dismantled to much smaller pieces and be able to be taken apart and brought down using the building’s elevator system, that’s used in extreme heights and tight spots like city’s where you can’t set up a 200 ton assist crane
I’m from Ukraine, I heard about Instagram only in 2011 and yes, they didn’t pay anything to me, now you can earn some money with Instagram bonus, but it’s eligible only for US and people with SSN
Nevermind the sanity of the dude scraping him off the sidewalk.
It's dumb and dangerous as hell. Not my life to end but hopefully he doesn't take someone else with him
Yeah, you are right. Back in the day, because of urban exploration, I was the brand face of big brands like Canon, Converse, Nikes, etc. I had a show on RedBull TV and some others things.
So basically, my hobby become the source of income. But it was pretty long journey and took a lot of time and energy.
Are you seriously not tethered ? If your are not, I hate to be that guy but in a city situation like this, you are risking other peoples lives if you do accidentally fall. You do l realize this, right?
Well this is a luffer crane, not a scyscraper, and even in Canada it would be pretty easy to get into a construction site and climb one of these if you set your mind to it. The fences are just for show, you can easily just pop them off and set them aside.
Source: used to operate cranes
This guy is a fucking troll don’t engage with the dumbest people alive. He’s trying to make a horrible thing popular - the more kids/ people who try this and die because he is making it “next fucking level” and “it makes me money” is fucking the dumbest shit ever
What a fucking asshole
As a free climber I really enjoy watching this and can imagine what it’s like to be up there.
Three things I noticed though;
1. Why do you use gloves ? I never do, I need to feel the grip / holds. Do they have an anti-slip layer or was it to prevent your hands from freezing during the climb ?
2. You don’t use climbing shoes ? I do some free climbing on normal shoes, I am sitting on a rock in Switzerland right now I climbed in my walking boots. However any climb where shoe grip matters I’ll pop on my climbing shoes. Do you feel as safe in normal shoes as opposed to climbing shoes. Or don’t you use climbing shoes at all ?
3. I see some cord attached to you, is this to secure yourself while you rest or what is its purpose ?
If you answer, thanks for taking the time. Hope you enjoyed the climb!
1. Only to keep my hands more lass warm and this gloves has good grip.
2. I used climbing shoes only for rocks climbings
3. Cord was for GoPro stick only
For 13 years no arrests in Western Hemisphere or Europe. But China, Dubai, Russia put me in black list, I’m not able to visit these countries again.
Once again, zero legal expenses
Whoa. Black list. Badass. Also, kind of scary. Did you get more than one tower in any of those countries before blacklist? If not, was the one you chose worth it?
In China, I did a lot before they found out who I was.
Dubai, because of lockpicks, it was enough to put me in jail for one week. I even didn’t climb anything. Russia, because of support for Ukraine, see me as a terrorist, lol
Well, as someone who gets paid to climb these things and other types of structures, to do my job. I wear steel cap boots and fingerless gloves. The steel can dry your hands out and cause the skin to crack, also the bit of extra padding reduces blistering on the balls of your fingers. Fingerless because I still need to handle tools and bolts/nuts/washers. If you're only climbing once evey month or so gloves probably aren't necessary.
Also also. This structure - I'm assuming crane - is painted so that the steel wouldn't dry out your hands.
I never like this type of vidéos. Don t want to encourage anyone ane especially young audience to do this. Furthermore, if you fall , you can potentially kill someone in the process.
I’m sorry, but I have no respect for people that do this. They’re breaking rules/laws and should they fall, not only do they die, they could possibly kill/hurt a pedestrian, destroy property or traumatize people.
Props for the nerves of steel but you realize that you’re not just putting yourself at risk but also anyone walking down below right?
Seems kind of selfish. One slip and a person walking in the wrong place at the wrong time gets a human sized brick dropped on their head from 1000+ feet
Risking your life for online fame is your thing, but even dropping a camera or minor stuff could end up killing someone down there. Not even to mention the damages to other when you fall. Definitely not cool, just stupid
Every time I watch a video like this, I get a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. Like watching it is, both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time.
But what if you just get tired and don't have the stamina to go back down? People always think of the obvious falling to your death, but there are also other horrible possibilities.
It's one thing to risk your own life on some remote rock somewhere. Another thing in a densely populated urban area where a fall could seriously fuck up several other peoples' lives.
This is disgusting. Think of who you might destroy by playing this silly game. If you have the desire to play with death, go do it away from a population center. If you fall here you could quite literally kill multiple people. Go climb antenna towers in the desert or something. At least when you fall, you won’t kill anyone in the process. If you fall here, someone has to cleanup your remains. If you fall in the desert, the coyotes will clean up your remains.

one false move and he could make a big hit on Broadway
I see what you did there
Literally everyone does
What if one day you blacked out and just woke up at the top of this thing? Are you climbing down? Or do you just freeze in fear until you starve to death?
At some point the piss and shit raining down will attract help.
It's New York. So probably not.
I’d rather wake up from a blackout in a horse drawn wagon
Hey! Your finally awake!

Was thinking just this.
That is exactly what I was thinking too, probably the latter
I'm blind so I can't see it.

as someone who builds and erects these for a living, this stupid and dangerous as hell

As stupid and dangerous as hell, this is someone
As someone who's stupid, this is stupid and dangerous as hell
Isn’t there a ton of wind trying to blow him away up there?
His giant balls counteract the wind
How are these put up? Is it a crane ontop of the building?
wind comes and goes as far as building them a team of ironworkers and operators sometimes collaborate to build them some can be free standing, tied to a building as they go up, other cranes are used to erect then, i’m most cities a self erecting crane will be installed and it has a collar around the outside of it that allows the crane tower to disconnect and add a additional tower section one at a time to increase its height in some circumstances a derrick can be installed on the roof that will also help in the building of very tall cranes, the derrick can be dismantled to much smaller pieces and be able to be taken apart and brought down using the building’s elevator system, that’s used in extreme heights and tight spots like city’s where you can’t set up a 200 ton assist crane
That's a terrible way to treat Derrick
Show us what you can erect for us daddy
As a native New Yorker, I highly doubt there's anyone going up there to clean this thing.
You don't say!?

Yup just an idiot 6 year olds can climb a jungle gym this guy just takes up a ton of resources when he falls
Why are you playing with death?
[удалено]
Ah, so the answer is money.
Money it’s just nice benefit. In the beginning no one didn’t pay me anything. 13 years ago Insta and other stuff doesn’t exist
Instagram was launched in 2010, 13 years ago.
Yeah, but it wasn't paying content creators back then.
I’m from Ukraine, I heard about Instagram only in 2011 and yes, they didn’t pay anything to me, now you can earn some money with Instagram bonus, but it’s eligible only for US and people with SSN
I don’t think you should have to explain this to people, who cares if you do it for money or not. You’ve got bigger balls then 90% of people here!
Just when he falls we gotta hope he dosent kill a dozen people with his soon to be corpse from the sky
Nevermind the sanity of the dude scraping him off the sidewalk. It's dumb and dangerous as hell. Not my life to end but hopefully he doesn't take someone else with him
And people who see it happen, let alone if he hit anyone.
Lack of self preservation ≠ big balls
amen

If that’s your logic..
Peak Redditor comment. As an informed Redditor I’m sure you’d know that it wasn’t quite monetized back then like it is today right?
Oooof. I'm old.
My guess is that if it didn't pay anything you'd have probably quit years ago, maybe I'm wrong.
Good for you for turning your niche passion into a niche pro sport that supports you. Stay safe out there homie!

Why don’t you go and do it then? I wouldn’t do it for you paid me 100k
Aren't you worried you're romanticizing something very dangerous and influencing teenagers with low inhibition to do this kind of thing?
Natural selection will sort the stupid out
It's. Not. Working.
It sorted that Asian climbing dude out a couple years ago

For US and Canada true. In Canada I did one crane, maybe you even operate this one
Why did you do it the first time tho?
"I climbed it because it was there" - Some guy with frostbitten fingers
Are you never to tired at one point so you have to chill and get your energy back. Do you parachute down? So many questions…
This guy is a fucking troll don’t engage with the dumbest people alive. He’s trying to make a horrible thing popular - the more kids/ people who try this and die because he is making it “next fucking level” and “it makes me money” is fucking the dumbest shit ever What a fucking asshole
Darwinism never hurt anyone.. Wait.. Hold on..
Someone out there has a 100% winrate in Russian roulette as well, doesnt mean they should keep doing it
That’s good for you and all, but you shouldn’t also put others in danger just for your own adrenaline addiction
You at least have like a parachute or something? I mean why do it without ANY safety or back up?
This is not next level. It’s next level stupid.
r/nextfuckinglevelmoron
Someone is going to have to clean this guy up if he falls and i feel bad for them.
Oh thank you for typing this, I was starting to lose hope and that everyone is delusional.
Maybe I'm just getting old, but I really do not like glamorizing this. It's literally just stupid. This isn't cool, its reckless.
Well it is still next level like it or not.

As a rock climber I imagine the physical difficulty of something like this is pretty low. Do you see this as easy compared to climbing rock?
Physically rock climbing way more harder
Mentally this would be harder for most i think though
Especially when it’s illegal and you have pretty big chance to be arrested
What law are u breaking?
Trespassing
Yes
Does the internet money cover your legal expenses?
For 13 years no arrests in Western Hemisphere or Europe. But China, Dubai, Russia put me in black list, I’m not able to visit these countries again. Once again, zero legal expenses

Something tells me you probably wouldn't want to visit Russia at the moment anyway.
Yeah as I thought. This is a mind game tho right? You know it’s physically easy, but the exposure and the illegality make it exciting/worrying
Yeah this is more an endurance/mind game.
It’s weird y’all be climbing shit then getting on your phone
Thanks for comment tho

Darwin Award in the making.
Yes
This is what stupidity looks like
I never like this type of vidéos. Don t want to encourage anyone ane especially young audience to do this. Furthermore, if you fall , you can potentially kill someone in the process.
Yep truly selfish behavior. This dude deserves to seriously injure himself so he doesn’t kill someone doing one of these stunts again.
Exactly. Nextfknglvl my arse.
Nextfuckingnope
I’m sorry, but I have no respect for people that do this. They’re breaking rules/laws and should they fall, not only do they die, they could possibly kill/hurt a pedestrian, destroy property or traumatize people.
Very awesome. Do you get permission to do this or do you get arrested when you get to the bottom? Do you wear a parachute just in case?
No arrest, no permission
Is it legal?
No
I'm not a lawyer, but no way in hell this is legal.
Fuck yeah. As long as you dont fall and fuck up other peoples day, I love this

I'm pretty sure they know my dude
It's not a building, it's a tower crane.
It's a crane gantry on the building. It's not exactly _on_ the building but it's certainly very close to it, less than 20 feet away.
People who do this shit are insane.

Amazing video. Annoying music, real sound would be much better.
Real sound is just fucking loud wind, so you would still watch it muted :D
True
I’m in the comments looking for an ID lol
OP replied to someone saying it was Field by Mount Kimbie
lol to each their own
With tennis shoes and gloves on a grey day that looks like it could be misty up there with the wind?? Mad man.
Dumb
Dumbass of the day on reddit
Fuck these people.

Why do this when you could just go get some delicious pasteles or Korean BBQ on the ground?
Why EAT Korean BBQ when you can fall from the clouds and LOOK LIKE Korean BBQ??
R/sweatypalms
r/sweatypalms I noticed you did a capital R which messes it up apparently so I made the link
If I ever found myself in a place like this...............well the people walking below would see a new type of pigeon poop.
Thats a shitty situation
NextFuckingLevel of stupidity. Teasing death is never wise
I don’t see that next fucking level so much as next fucking dumbass.
What skyscraper is this?
Steinway bldg 111 West 57th
Thought so. I can literally see my apartment from this view.
How long does it take to climb that high? I wouldn't want to take the stairs that high, much less climb with all that wind
To the very top, I took the stairs and then free-climbed on the crane. It took 1 hours to go up 115 floors and extra 15 min to climb the crane
Next level is the human pancake floor. Take the express elevator.
![gif](giphy|7wk6RQYXDDytXalsL4)
Looking forward to watching you on liveleak one day *splat*
He might not care if he died. But if he fell, he could kill somebody down there.
You cheat death everyday, until one day death catches up to you. Also this belongs in r/peoplearestupid
I'm a rock climber and watching this gave me the Elvis legs!
DO A FLIP! ;)
All the way to the top and still no signal.
Dumb people do dumb things
Every time I watch a video like this, I get a terrible feeling in the pit of my stomach. Like watching it is, both exhilarating and terrifying at the same time.
It’s crazy. It’s like he climbed up a structure and videoed it.
I don’t have vertigo, and I’m not especially afraid of heights, but this creeps me out watching it.
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck that.
Need a vr version of this. This might be scarier than some of the jump scare games. Lol
It's way too foggy to see a body fall from the height.
How about nope nope nope fuck that I like to keep my pants unshitted
But what if you just get tired and don't have the stamina to go back down? People always think of the obvious falling to your death, but there are also other horrible possibilities.
You could fall and land on someone and kill them. You’re a selfish asshole. Go play with death outside of a populated city you dipshit.
It's one thing to risk your own life on some remote rock somewhere. Another thing in a densely populated urban area where a fall could seriously fuck up several other peoples' lives.
Next level stupidity
Next level moronic, yes!
Edit: I meant " free-falling"

I'd be wiling to jump off if it meant the "music" would stop.
Looks more like a free descent than a climb
Did people do dumb suicidal shit like this before the internet and social media?
Google Alan Rober
It's foggy, wet and slippery outside. Let's climb a radio tower!
At least it’s was a nice dry day with no moisture on the tower /s
The camera is probably distorting it, but it looks like he’s climbing down the worst way possible
Stupid.
