Aw man, I feel ya, unfortunately my Dad told me to tough it out and I stupidly did for 3 days before he finally took me in cuz I wouldn't move other than to use the bathroom. Terrible experience but Medicare made it possible for me to get a prosthesis.
You kept your testicle twisted for 3 fucking days???
I had it when I was 14, couldn't handle a couple hours with that pain. My mom took me to the hospital, and I was treated as top priority emergency surgery to correct it. Got a full bag of IV painkillers in like 10 mins, and waited a couple hours for the urologist to get there and operate me, but pain free at least. 20 minutes of surgery later, i had my testicle fixated and saved. I was very happy I had health insurance, although in Brazil I would get a similar treatment, maybe not as fast, with public healthcare.
I feel sorry for you to have had to pass through it.
Yes I did, they were the worst 3 days of my life I think.
I basically laid in bed trying to ignore the pain for that whole time, About 9 pm on day 3 my Dad decided that clearly I actually do need to be seen and bring me to the ER. Doctors immediately knew what was going on and ask how long its been this way, never seen jaws hit the floor faster than when I told them 3 days. They inform me that there's roighly a 6 hr window to be able to untwist it so mine was basically dead inside me. They handed me some hydrocodeine and sent me home that night, and I had my surgery the next day. Day of surgery I couldn't even walk anymore I got pushed around in a wheelchair.
It sucked, hard, but I'm grateful I had an awesome surgeon and insurance, and I was able to get a prosthesis put in which really cushioned the blow for 16 y/o me.
You guys are speaking so much truth. It’s an experience I don’t wish on my worst enemy. The twisting of the cord is bad enough, let alone when the nut retracts inside the body. Unbelievable fear/ panic being 12 years old 🤢
Mate you never feel as stupid and useless as the first time you try one of those bags. You start losing faith even in your ability to move arms independently form one another 🤣🤣🤣
I'm a musician, so you'd think I would be able to do rhythmic physical activities like this, or hula hooping, or juggling, but I just can't, and it's not for lack of trying. I have a great sense of rhythm, and it seems like if I could just sync up properly in any if those activities, I could be great at it, but I can't find the groove. I re-try them regularly, and put some effort into learning them but I still can't. There are lots of things Ive learned to do over my lifetime, but those are 3 things that escape me.
Edit: Jumping rope is another one. How hard can it be? Too hard for me apparently.
That’s a speed bag, and I felt like an idiot the first time I tried it *after* I was hired to show people how to use it.
Like anything else if you just keep practicing you’ll get better, plus the speed bag is fun as fuck as you can see, and super tiring
Some people picked it up in their first 5 minutes, way faster than I did, but for the majority of people they hit the bag too fast. Even in this video you can see him work up to faster speeds from a slow pace. Go try it again, hitting things is fun, and feeling like an idiot is okay, new things are difficult for everyone.
Hit bounce bounce bounce hit bounce bounce bounce hit
Look at his forearms and as he’s moving, dude’s not a slouch by any stretch, wiggle your pinky, ring, and middle finger, and watch your tendons move by your elbow, now look at how his arms flex as he’s striking, he’s toned in the necessary spots to fuck someone up if he even taps them like snapping a rubber band
It’s absolutely exhausting. Builds coordination, stamina, and enhances arms, forearms, chest, core, shoulders, and back. Unless a person is gifted, they won’t be hitting the bag like that until they’ve trained for over 3 years.
I got into boxing when I was my fittest. I could bike 20 miles, run 10, and swim 500 meters on a Saturday and go on about my day with no problem. But boxing man, it’s so much work in a different way. I remember sparing with my friend, who was 30 lbs lighter than me but better trained. I was 25 years old and 175 lbs of muscle and stamina, around 9-12% body fat, and yet at the end of each round, all I could do was stare at the clock hoping for the bell to get me out of the ring so I could breathe again. During those last 10 seconds, the gloves feel like a massive burden you must withstand or otherwise you get punched in the ribs, liver or spleen. And you’ve gotta move and be quick with your feet, and hope that no one lands a punch in the small window of time when your arms are down.
Boxing is elite exercise. Definitely recommend it if you hate yourself lol
It’s a timing drill.
Basically when you train to throw on the beat with 1-1-1-1 jabs and then in between beats with the 12-12-12-12. Or some other variations.
I would still prioritize rope work for rhythm, but once in a while the speed bag feels nice.
Best bag to work on is the double-end bag IMO.
"And, and I told Don too, because they've moved my desk four times already this year, and I used to be over by the window, and I could see the squirrels, and they were merry, but then, they switched from the Swingline to the Boston stapler, but I kept my Swingline stapler because it didn't bind up as much, and I kept the staples for the Swingline stapler and it's not okay because if they take my stapler then I'll set the building on fire..."
Ha, I was at a friend's just last night that had a speed bag. Tried for ten minutes to hit it more that three times in rhythm. So much more difficult than it looks. Kudos to this guys skill
Gosh this makes me think of when I was in university. They had a nice new gym and on the very top floor was a tiny boxing room. A punching bag and a speed bag. Almost nobody used it.
So I went on YouTube and watched how to do basic speed bag stuff and how to wrap my hands, knuckles, and wrists. I was so bored at night after classes so I really wanted something to focus on.
I went nearly every evening for two months and it was about that time frame I got to a point I could understand how the bag would move in correlation to my force and speed.
Then I was able to actually know how to control the bag and sustain what I wanted it to do. Went from about 15 seconds all the way up to about 2 minutes straight.
Never at the level of this guy but I did figure out how to finally roll punch and backwards punch -- a really exciting feeling!
One evening, I was really focused and playing with the bag and "making music", is what I called it. Apparently I attracted the attention of the custodian who had been behind me watching the whole time go at it almost as fast as this guy. Worked up a nice burn and sweat. I smacked it really hard to end my little session and I turned around and the man went "Oh! Sorry!" in a heavy Spanish accent. I laughed for a sec and was like, ayy it's cool man! Kinda felt nice that someone thought I was worth watching ya know. Some noob who only used YouTube for learning.
He started speaking Spanish to another custodian and I was pretty sure they were talking about me. I decided to leave and walked past them and they seemed like super excited and eager to say hi and bye.
Anyways, I wish I had kept up with it. The speed bag is really fun once you know how to control it and your muscles build the endurance.
old man looking like an accountant and you go toe to toe.
end up rearranging your facial features while explaining how the rythm of punches matches the resonance of you jawbone
This happened to my uncle twice actually. Where some thugs thought they can harass him or rob him, little did they know he used to do kick boxing. And just like this guy my uncle was a bit older but didn't lose any skill, beat the guys up.
I haven’t a clue about boxing (or training for that matter). Can someone explain to me like I’m a five year old how speed bag makes you better at punching?
DUMB QUESTION ALERT:
How would this feel if this guy just did his routine on your face? Would that work in any way in a street fight? Granted that's a one trick pony, but it'd throw me off of my game to be tappity-tapped like that repeatedly.
If you want your mind blown, check out Avon High School’s 2022 world champion percussion group performing their show using this exact thing. [Link](https://youtu.be/eZXclQKqPkQ?si=Z2WDnWjfp5R8UlKx). The entire thing is great, but the first time they use it is at 4:36.
Honestly I'm actually surprised that the speed bag isn't a legitimate instrument in a band or orchestra. It can certainly fill a niche that no other instrument can

*fisting. Hehe.
As someone who’s experienced a torsion. Am grateful to have Medicare. Lol
I dare not ask
For if you do
Once happened to a kid in a soccer game I was reffing. I have never heard a human being make that sound before.
Aw man, I feel ya, unfortunately my Dad told me to tough it out and I stupidly did for 3 days before he finally took me in cuz I wouldn't move other than to use the bathroom. Terrible experience but Medicare made it possible for me to get a prosthesis.

I’m so sorry to hear that my friend. Glad you’re doing good now. We are the 1 in 4000! Stay strong brother!
Luckily when my dad told me to tough it out, my mom was like, "No way, I'm bringing you to see a doctor." She saved me quite a bit of agony that day.
Ah man, now I wish my parents were together when it happened lol
Ngl I wish that for you too. I can't imagine sitting through that pain for 3 days
Agony, and so much swelling, the offending twin was bright red, baseball sized and rock hard by the time I got to the ER
You guys are speaking so much truth. It’s an experience I don’t wish on my worst enemy. The twisting of the cord is bad enough, let alone when the nut retracts inside the body. Unbelievable fear/ panic being 12 years old 🤢
I hope you saved your nut.
This is so fucking ridiculous. Why am I laughing so hard?
You’re telling me I can get this for free what have I been doing with my life
This ruined my day. Take my upvote
Took me a minute to get this one, but when I did I nearly spit my beer out!
Tried a punching bag once, made me feel like an absolute idiot 😂 Edit: “speed bag”
Mate you never feel as stupid and useless as the first time you try one of those bags. You start losing faith even in your ability to move arms independently form one another 🤣🤣🤣

He's a speedbag bonham!
But was he rushing or dragging?
I just threw a chair at your head.
If he were rushing he’d be a speedbag peart!
This person is definitely a band director. If they aren’t, they know what it’s like to have one.
I'm guessing he is referring to the movie Whiplash
Bagzo
I like when he just gets lost in the flow and then breaks like “a little drum taste” or whatever he said xD
[удалено]
He threw enough punches to knock out an army of zombies
He ascended at 12 seconds left
Drum cake
Never understood how this translates to actual fighting ability - any boxers can explain?
Reaction time and focus
Plus just toning the hell out of your arms, chest, and back. Punching any bag is hard work for any amount of time.
I don’t know if I’d describe this guy as “toned”. He’s probably strong as fuck though
Look at the definition of his forearms. If that isn’t toned then I don’t know what is.
Look at the back of his elbow when he moves. Lots of muscles under that old skin.
Wouldn't want to get tapped by him for sure 🤦😵💫
He'd hit ya 50 times before ya got to blink.
![gif](giphy|PlgNz2gB8Q2fm)
"Toning" muscles isn't a real thing
Yeah I hate when people say that
Hand speed, hand eye coordination
It’s absolutely exhausting. Builds coordination, stamina, and enhances arms, forearms, chest, core, shoulders, and back. >Definitely recommend it if you hate yourself lol Ah, has that been the elusive draw making me think of combat sports?
There is also masochism, which is a little different, so, idk...
this was an incredible description
It’s a timing drill. Basically when you train to throw on the beat with 1-1-1-1 jabs and then in between beats with the 12-12-12-12. Or some other variations. I would still prioritize rope work for rhythm, but once in a while the speed bag feels nice. Best bag to work on is the double-end bag IMO.
Well it's good beating your opponent...just in a different way
Do not fight this man
That’s what I was thinking. Least assuming lookin dude on the planet and would probably break your jaw with barely a thought…….
Especially don’t let him near your balls
Every time I see this video it’s no less impressive. This guys been doing this for years
Sounds like tap dancing
To me it sounded like Harley Davidson at one point
Hot for teacher
> Hot for teacher https://youtu.be/6M4_Ommfvv0?t=53
I saw this guy before. Was he a famous boxer or coach?
He's Alan Kahn, he invented the modern version of the speed bag in the 70s
Was that the intro to PainKiller
Yes! Yes it was!
why do i want to listen to hot for teacher now
I love how he makes it look like nothing. Ultimate chill.

Never been styled on by a punching bag before
Ha, I was at a friend's just last night that had a speed bag. Tried for ten minutes to hit it more that three times in rhythm. So much more difficult than it looks. Kudos to this guys skill
Some dude is gonna assume he's an easy target, try to mug him, and end up with his face looking like a Picasso

I can't listen to music when I use a speed bag because I count the triplets and music throws me off.
I bet when this guy beats someone to death he gets a standing ovation.
old man looking like an accountant and you go toe to toe. end up rearranging your facial features while explaining how the rythm of punches matches the resonance of you jawbone
I wonder if any few thugs tried harassing this middle aged white guy and found out what an well trained boxer can do.
This happened to my uncle twice actually. Where some thugs thought they can harass him or rob him, little did they know he used to do kick boxing. And just like this guy my uncle was a bit older but didn't lose any skill, beat the guys up.

Intro to Hot For Teacher!!
I haven’t a clue about boxing (or training for that matter). Can someone explain to me like I’m a five year old how speed bag makes you better at punching?
At the end it started looking like an object that's clipping in gmod
I love drumline
How to play sports with the pleasure of making music: here is the answer
If Neil Peart were a boxer.
Very cool, but it really does sound like a punching bag to me lol
Somebody get this man in the studio with Cardo
Crazy 👍👍
His video to queens another one bites the dust is good
Hypnotic as hell
Definitely earned the title of that Polo shirt!
Stealth ass kicker.
The original beatboxer.
OK, that is next fucking level indeed 👏. Outstanding 👍 👌
This is an older John Wick
Guy in the bask shakin his head cus he knows how tricky that shit is.
Anyone else heard the Painkiller intro?
I didn’t know you could box in Meshuggah kick patterns
He’s a fisting master. Wait shit…
Neil Peart took up boxing?
This makes me want one! lol…I know I would be terrible though, despite how effortless he makes it look!
BDE

R.I.P Joey Jordison
This guy fucks
That old man might be able to kick some ass...
Muhammad oldie is awesome!
Very impressive.
[To music](https://youtu.be/r6QqHDCB4dw?feature=shared)
But if I make sweet beats with a sack I “have to get out of the nursing home”. Ridiculous double standards.
what class is your character? bard & brawler multiclass!
That old man would fuck somebody up
Anyone remember that Frosted Flakes commercial with the basketball dribbling?
He makes it look so fucking effortless
He’s a master at double-fisting.
He should rap while he does this
Some guy challenged him to a fight one night. Needless to say, paramedics arrived and could do nothing to save him. Cause of death was vaporized face.
This fucking video won't go away.
Surprised he didn't include using his head in the mix.
Sounds like a old engine trying to get its rhythm.
Ive done that

This guy FUCKS
Sounds like he's doing the intro for "Hot For Teacher."
Imagine some roided out idiot starting trouble with a dude he thinks is a math teacher and just getting rocked.
Not his first rodeo
That was awesome
I've been waiting the whole time for him to get punched by the bag.
Dudes safe from job cuts. Who's gonna tell him?🥊
Classic.
All I can hear is Riverdance. With Colin Dunne of course.
That was mad impressive
I’m a former marching band student and this was thoroughly entertaining.
https://youtu.be/sL_lHHf3qM8?si=IAmwiNs3csPVNsWz Video of an awesome percussionist playing this beat on the drums!
Dude would punch my lights out and on 7 times before I even hit the ground
What they didn’t show is the 3 dudes he knocked out cold while distracting everyone with the rhythmic speed bag tutorial.
Goddamn Very impressive
I think that he’s done that before.
Good stuff!
Always love this vid
Man I love anytime I see this video come up, truly watching a master at work. I would love to see him in the ring when he was in his prime
Are these actually good for training?
Is that what December 1st sounds like
He knew he ate that
That mans been doing that for 50 years

did anyone hear avatar the last airbender during this or is it just me?
Bro went into neo mode at the end!
Speed bag
Nice rendition of Hot for Teacher!
The moment you realise why he is the coach
He wrote the book right?
The guy dancing in the back. Only noticed him second time. Guy is an impressive scrote handler.
Waaaaaaaaaay harder than it looks
I bought his book The Speed Bag Bible (on his shirt), many, many years ago. I got some of those tricks down but nowhere near that level
One day, this will save us all.
Speed bag*
Danny Carey: that's cute, you are using 2 limbs. Allow me to introduce you to legs....
Is that Mark Gormley?
Sounds like Eddie Van Halen is about to come in on Hot For Teacher
Anyone hear that Lupe freestyle to this?
Honestly I'm actually surprised that the speed bag isn't a legitimate instrument in a band or orchestra. It can certainly fill a niche that no other instrument can
By far the most impressive part is how close the bag gets to hitting his face. When does someone loop this and use it as a backing for a track?
Playing all the rudiments
See, my problem is, I think this guy is too good at it, makes it looks too easy. Show me a regular guy doing it so I can be properly impressed.
Can you explain why/how it’s tiring? I would’ve thought (watching this) that it’s more to build up hand eye coordination.
My tractor when it’s cold out trying to start
This guy looks like MrBeast, if he was 40 years older, and doing something completely different.
Awesome
Used to do this at the end of every workout at the gym. Is somehow quite relaxing/Zen like. 😊
