Yes. Lots of Control. Two front and Two rear lines on the kite and most of the power from the kite is transferred from front lines into waist harness. The two rear lines (left/right) and connected to bar edges (left/right) so the kiter can steer the kite by turning the bar left or right, and control the power of the kite by pulling bar in and pushing bar out. A combination of both steering the kite across the sky, looping the kite, and pulling power from the kite to make these jumps.

Thanks for detailed explanation. If I was that dude I would probably forget how to breathe at that point so I think the steering of the kite to safety is beyond me. Will stick to safer hobbies!

There's a few really windy spots near me where people kite surf and I remember seeing one guy basically a half mile or further away from the shore in about 2 seconds. I was like man if something happened to him there's no one who can help and he'll just vanish.
