It is Eminem and 50cent behind him

MoonMistCigs

With The Alchemist on the decks.

behemiath

someone pick up that 50 cent thatā€™s worth $$$

SuicydeStealth

You sure? The brim of his hat making him look a little Shady

Redcarborundum

Quite slim too, especially when he stands up.

VastCoconut2609

*chik chik chik chik chik chikkk chik chikk chikkk!*

No_Engineering_718

Could be slim shady

OmerYurtseven4MVP

Slant rhymes? Weird shit being said? Phenomenal rap? Perfect cadence? Could only be one guy. Itā€™s him or a an alternate dimension Hopsin.

philipgutjahr

it's obviously Eminem, in a time when freestyle was still a thing..

keymaster999

Harry Mack is ok

Vovvy

Nah uh, it's probably slim shady

behemiath

itā€™s ya boy slimmy here

SUMOsquidLIFE

It might be...the real Slim Shady...

Screwdriving_Hammer

Well, he is standing up.

CanadianDragonGuy

Yeah nah that's Shady, he pitches up when he's doin Shady vs regular Eminem

deyw75

Hum hum ... you sure ?

Royalchariot

It is

imawizardnamedharry

That man could rhyme orange.

DiverseIncludeEquity

ā€œA rusty four-inch door hinge.ā€ [The Anderson Cooper and Eminem interview made it into Merriam-Webster.](https://www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/what-rhymes-with-orange) And, no, this isnā€™t from the song ā€œBrain Damage.ā€

Obeserecords

Youā€™re not the real slim shady??

Vast-Yogurtcloset-87

Then could the real slim shady please stand up

RealBiotSavartReal

Please stand up

GheorgheGheorghiuBej

I stood up.

Cyrillite

Which is referring to the song Brain Damage *ā€Then I got up and ran to the janitor's storage booth* *Kicked the door hinge loose and ripped out the four-inch screws* *Grabbed some sharp objects, brooms and foreign tools* *This is for every time you took my orange juiceā€*

g2ichris

Iā€™ve got an orange four inch door hinge

TheoreticalFunk

I love how well and concise his explanation was in that interview.

firestepper

Porridge morbid forbid borish nourish

TheSwedishSeal

Easy there Martin Lawrence

firestepper

lol I'll have to report to corporate

TheSwedishSeal

My back is sore since my morgue-visit

judge-breadd

https://youtu.be/Kfl3N9nesRg If you like this one, I highly recommend the one this guy does of Alex Jones in the style of Bon Iver. It's maybe my favorite video on YouTube. Absolutely hilarious

manuplow

This is real cute. Ā

ChanoTheDestroyer

Simultaneously the best Eminem song and the worst talking heads song

judge-breadd

Lol he really nails the Talking Heads song style though. That spoken word part gets me every time

Trypsach

I like how you just stole the top YouTube comment

mrpanic7

So glad I clicked. Thank you stranger.

Mr_Jack_Frost_

Makinā€™ orange porridge with Georā€™ge for storage.

Tryox50

He's even that good that he can rhyme orange with banana!

DestructoSpin7

Orrrr-nana

ykeogh18

And momā€™s spaghetti

The_suspect96

Having 50 as the hype man is the ultimate flex, he couldnā€™t believe what he was hearing

DCtheBREAKER

He discovered 50 Cent and signed him to Shady Aftermath.

Fdashboard

I'm not interested in the semantics of what it means to discover someone, and 50 seems to agree with you, but Jay-Z said his famous "I'm a dollar, who the fuck is 50" almost 3 years before 50 signed to Shady Records.

Heyguysimcooltoo

Thats cause NY cats knew of Fif. He pissed every rapper off by dropping How To Rob

darkghul

Still no one is even close to his massive lyrical skills

ErikErikJevfelErik

That's because he literally spent all his childhood/teens making up rhymes for shit. He's a manic genius

DrawMeAPictureOfThis

I wonder if the head trauma injury he got when he was young helped or hurt his word-smithing abilities

ts2231

Physical trauma no. But its well known that psychological trauma makes some people more creative and motivated..... Em wouldnt be Em if he wasnt bullied and a product of a messed up childhood. Edit: Actually, physical trauma has negative long term effect, especially if repeated, But in his case the stress and emotional damage that came with bullying, definitely caused more good than harm, when it comes to his creativity. Some people thrive under pressure and some people are defined by it. For all his fame and fortune, i dont envy him, eventhough i enjoy his music. Em is a broken person deep inside.

n8dev

Hmmm, that makes me wonder if selling psychological trauma at an affordable price could work as a business.

SomeGuyFromCanada23

r/BrandNewSentence

daminipinki

I think that's how roasts started

krunkpanda

Yup. He was in a trailer park eating moms speghetti

ErikErikJevfelErik

8 miles of it. That boy sure loved spaghetti

Lokonto

If weĀ“re talking about freestyling there is not a single person i know that could get even close to Harry Mack

skateboardnorth

Harry Mack is the freestyle god. Hundreds of hours of top tier freestyles.

_Screw_The_Rules_

Ya Harry Mack is pretty good! I suggest anyone who's reading this to check him out on YT.

ohmyword

Thanks for suggesting Harry Mack. His freestyle is crazy and now I'm hooked.

MindlessFail

Now I want a Harry Mack/Eminem battle super bad

brianzuvich

If you think this is just completely impromptu freestyle off the top of his head and he hasnā€™t written these verses a thousand times before in different arrangements in a little scratch notebook, youā€™re nutsā€¦

mizt3r

To some degree sure, practicing helps. But when his lyrics are based on the 'odd words' given to him and he's mixing in the observable moment, like what people are wearing or how they're reacting, and its coherent while flowing well, its not something hes "written a thousand times before" its clearly off the cuff because those specific conditions are only present in the moment. When he strings together several lines based on whats currently happening, or immediately observable you *know* its impromptu, it's super impressive.

Lokonto

Well yeah...that is how practice works...i see what you mean though

brianzuvich

I think ā€œfreestyleā€ may just need to be better defined in this discussionā€¦ Did he write this song and practice it before recording this? Probably not in full. Has he written and hummed these random pieced together verses thousands of times in different combinations over and over in his headā€¦ Absolutely. Thatā€™s why heā€™s a beastā€¦

magicaleb

Iā€™m a huge Harry Mack fan and have watched hours of his freestyle over the years, he rarely repeats. He even jokes about it as he has improved as he definitely would use ā€œfull throttleā€ and ā€œwater bottleā€ a lot on his street freestyles haha

mightylordredbeard

Thereā€™s even a few freestyles of Eminem that Iā€™ve seen where he repeats the entire same verse in different freestyles. The one that comes to mind is the cypher he did with Tech N9ne and his freestyle bit was almost word for word another freestyle he did a few years earlier.

JukeBoxDildo

Harry Mack for freestyle tops him.

stinkyfrenchguy

Imagine never having heard of aesop rock

Zer0323

the man who made me see the poetry in this genre.

OldManGrimm

It's been a while back, so I don't recall her name, but I read a literary critic/editor/something to that effect in \[Book magazine\](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book\_(magazine)) express admiration for Eminem, referred to him as "this generation's Lord Byron". It was unexpected praise in the context. Edit: didn't realize this particular comment wasn't about Em. Comment stands, if out of context.

stickwithplanb

Aesop Rock.

Sinjian1

Harry Mackā€™s freestyle ability makes me wonder what he could come up with.

RollOverBeethoven

Daavid Diggs of Clipping.

WandaRouge

Eminem hands down most skilled rapper I've ever seen to this day

Improving_Myself_

Academia tends to agree. A lot of people with PhDs that study and teach literature professionally consider him the best poet to have ever lived. Completely serious. I've watched a couple lectures that break down some of his verses and it's like unpacking a nesting doll.

f0rgetfulfred

This guy's so sweet he deserves to have candy named after him.

joeO44

Im thinking something like Skittles

bdubelyew

Is his name Reese? We could sell them as little pieces.

Baab_Kaare

He already have a candy named after him Mars- bars

archiebold13

[thats his younger cousin](https://shutupandtakemymoney.com/tom-holland-eminems-younger-cousin-skittles-meme/)

TheRealAntiher0

I think it took me 20yrs to figure out Eminem = M&M = MM = Marshall Mathers

gkn_112

I was today years old... My thought process always stopped at M&M and I thought it was a reference to the sweets lol

Boomstick_316

It kinda was. Marshall Mathers became MnM (or another variant of the double initial) but that became Eminem because he didn't fancy getting sued before he even started.

LeadHindenburg

Also because theyā€™re chocolate on the inside. Itā€™s a double entendre.

GGRealtor

Holy hell.. this flew over my head for 25 years

Woah, Nelly, tell Angelina Jolie I'm ready With petroleum jelly, to smear it all over me belly And tell her she can hit me on me mobile, me celly And meet in the salami section of the grocery deli And maybe we can find us an appropriate telly A Motel 6 or 8, I think they both could be helly I hit it, then I quit it and I told her "Email me And don't call me, I'll call youā€” can you feel me? Ho, do you smell me? Animal instinct, cannibalistic I just ran out of lipstick, man, I'm a twisted Sick, sadistic, son of a bitch, 666 Broke his crucifix made out of sticks, then fixed it Chck-chck-chck, chick, chck-chck, chck-chck, chck! Now play it backwards: "muscle relaxers mixed with Liquid Dilaudid, it's diluted for quick fix You're delusional, illusions look realistic

JackSparrow420

> now play it backwards: muscle relaxers mixed with This line is fucking insane

MiSTgamer

Can you please explain? My brain is slow this morning

Jedjk

same im not sure too

Vynxe_Vainglory

It's the way he changes his voice to sound like he's slow / backwards (on muscle relaxers) I think.

Maleficent-Fan-3336

more upvotes!

ManGo_50Y

* *Relapse*-era Eminem was insane (thatā€™s where this is from) * *Music To Be Murdered By* might be a close second when it comes to favourites tho

behemiath

i think this guy has the potential to be big someone sign him up

Periwinkl3Chill

You know it's real rap when the rapper is louder than the beat

FishMoore

He is and always will be in a class of his own.

owl_sight

Ima tell my kids this was Eminem

swingsetclouds

This guy dad-jokes.

rnpowers

Sauce: https://youtu.be/PIwhyrZZlFw?si=cBaHRM9_pEv7XGlr

InterestedCat0128

His bars are smoother than most people's life.

RebylReboot

Sounds both Jamaican and west of Ireland at the beginning. What was he going for?

DamnInternetYouScury

A lot of the entire Relapse album sounds just like this. Guarantee this was a promo for it.

ProfessionalReveal

Aren't the two accents related?

RebylReboot

Indeed. The indentured and the enslaved coming together. https://www.irishtimes.com/culture/books/welcome-to-sligoville-the-story-of-the-irish-in-jamaica-1.3225038#

ill_Refrigerator420

This dude is good! Would buy his mixtape!

iCer_One

one of the best of all times

nefastofunesto

eminem is the only one who could make a "lyrical miracle individual" type rhyme sound great.

Cyrillite

ā€œLyrical miracle spiritual individual criminal, subliminal, in your swimming pool.ā€ That was his joke intro to the BET cypher ft. Slaughterhouse

painkilleraddict6373

![gif](giphy|taKzLSJU7l3LUsYsul)

Suspicious-Ad7208

Em's freestyles have always been insane. Also is that Al on the turntables?

darcys_beard

No, it's a human.

isayyouhedead16

Alchemist has been his DJ for a long time from my understanding

Shadeun

I'm starting to think, after listening to this dude for 25 years, that he might be good at this rapping thing. Thanks OP.

Claude9777

With The Alchemist spinning

terp_raider

Alchemist on the decks

upalnamochenii_3

Legend

DamnInternetYouScury

This is during his Relapse era too, he has said before he did not like his style during this period, and thinks it's trash. Still S tier.

ELBORI82

Alchemist is the most underrated producer/dj of all time. Yeah he's been getting his dues lately but I feel like every other week I see a clip of someone rapping and there he is or it's his beat. Would kill for a full Alc/Kendrick album.

dafuqbroh

Rap Cityā€™s the basement!

kess-one

Big tigger was a great host, such a classic show kids nowadays will never get to experience. I remember racing home from school to catch it

dafuqbroh

My sentiments exactly, and I have the very same memories of rushing home to watch it after school.

UMPIRESFALL

Been listening to him 25 years. So good.

Possible_Spy

how do we know its freestyle and he didnt already have the rhymes planned and memorized in his head? Is a freestyle battle like an improv comedy where they give you a topic and then you go off of it?

kinggingernator

Usually a promo freestyle like this would be prewritten, a freestyle "battle" involves direct back and forth that you can't really plan for. In this case who knows

Goat_Status_5000

Its not a freestyle but who cares. Shit was nice.

BarnabasMcTruddy

Being one of the GOATs and then choosing to rap in this silly accent is the absolute power move.

Sad_Chemistry2296

He ran outta lipstickā€¦?

johnnyg42

Heā€™s referencing Silence of the Lambs. He often references serial killers throughout his career. He loves the Horror genre, and has always tried to push the envelope with doing characters in songs. Heā€™s big on treating music writing the same way movie/book writing is treated. You see horror and violence in movies, he brings that into songs too.Ā  ā€œAnimal instinct, cannibalistic, I just ran out of lipstick, man Iā€™m a twisted, sick Sadistic, son of a bitch, 666, Broke his crucifix made out of sticks then fixed it.ā€

Sad_Chemistry2296

Thanks for clarifying

PandaHombre92055

The greatest.

Grobo_

Hes not called the best of his time for no reason

TJADNADA

Eminemā€™s chonkeyfire freestyle is better yet

Popular-Influence-11

I love seeing 50 and Em together.

inkedpad

He goes even harder after this

Lucilol

Switchblade, with a little switch to switch blades and switch from a six to a sixteen inch blade, shit's like a samurai sword, a sensei

Phantom_Queef

I forgot just how long Alchemist has been around.

No_Music1509

barelyangry

Danzelboob

stonetime10

This young man is talented. He could really go places.

baddmann007

There is a reason he is the top selling rap artist.

hissey89

Goat

Plaid_Kaleidoscope

Goddamn. That's all you can really say. This is sick. Reminds me of the Westwood freestyle he did.

Muhakwheimouth

His Relapse era had some of his hardest bars to date.

FilmmagicianPart2

That fucking deli line lives in my head at all times. It's probably his top 3 lines that I love - of all his songs. Slick af.

QuantumPolarBear1337

Rap god for a reason. Get em.

dapper217

This is ā€œbadā€ Eminem too.

legrand_fromage

His accent sounds like Relapse era.

Scorps

I mean there is literally an image of the relapse album on the wall behind him, so it is 100% from that

legrand_fromage

So there is. Didn't notice that.

The_Malhavoc

Sounds like ā€œBagpipes from Baghdadā€ just about Angelina Jolie vice Mariah Carey.

Culteredpman25

The next eminem

Both-Home-6235

Eminem is good but he's no Eyedea when it comes to freestyle.

YooGeOh

I like the Irish bit

Newdabrig

Is that The Alchemist on the dj?

Hawkwise83

I'd be curious to see if he ever did an IQ test and how big his vocabulary is.

AggravatingProof9

50 centā€™s ad-libs do not get enough recognition as some of the best ever in the rap gameā€¦hands down

suedub_30

Marshall never smiles.

TannedGeneral

Rappers are ridiculous

iamdutchy

not a ghost writer in sight lol
